WHY YOUR NEXT VACATION SHOULD BE WITH US. A vacation in Plantation Bay will be more prudent than in most resorts for the following reasons: A. Plantation Bay is a complete destination resort, where they can spend their entire holiday without ever going outside where they might be exposed at random to the virus. B. Plantation Bay is very spread out, and almost all its facilities are open-air. As now scientifically proven, most Covid-19 transmission occurs in close-contact indoor situations in which people stay close together for long periods. By its unique open-air design, Plantation Bay is inherently unconducive to catching Covid-19. There are no enclosed corridors and elevators where the virus may linger in the air up to 4 hours after someone coughed in that space, and we have vast lagoons and pools where people will not be tightly-packed. There are a lot of activities that guests can do inside the resort, so guests will not be tempted to go out where they might catch the virus in public markets or lower-end restaurants.

We booked a lagoon side room (one of the more expensive categories. Arrived at hotel shortly after 2pm and were happy with the check in process - very smooth and fast - no need to present id's, credit card, deposits etc. Hotel is magnificently laid out with lots of vegitation and the feel of a small village. Got to our room and noticed that it was a pwd room (not requested). but (as we thought) no problem - nice 4 poster bed, raised toilet seat and handrail to lower/lift from/to toilet. aircon bedroom (with no chairs) and open living area that had no ventilation. Having relaxed for 90 minutes or so on bed we wanted to make a coffee and were unhappy to find only 1 bottle of water provided - so choice was have a coffee or clean our teeth - but not both!!!. So we sat in the living area for a while listening to the thump, thump, thump of a beach volleyball from the court ADJACENT to our room (We HAD requested a quiet room). Then we planned to shower before going for dinner and were SHOCKED , when we opened the shower curtain there was NO OVERHEAD shower!! only a sit down hand held shower. For this reason we decided we would ask to be transferred to another room and called in at reception some 3 hours after we'd got to our room. The receptionist kept us waiting while she consulted 'management' and we were told we could transfer room BUT WOULD HAVE TO PAY A ROOM TRANFER FEEE WHICH WE DECLINED. So we paid 300usd per night for a room with no overhead shower!! Strike 1 Management nowhere to be seen and, from our perspective, in the wrong business!! Food (we ate in Kilimanjaro and Fiji) - breakfast 2 days abysmal- mediocre and 2 days fair - fairly good. Dinner 3 nights fair and 1 night good. Evening staff in Kilimanjoro not interested and impolite. Overall we would not stay again (we feel the management is the main problem with this hotel), such a shame because, as stated, the grounds are beautiful.

Plantation Bay is amazing from the airport pick up, to the pools, rooms and dining. Most importantly they are a welcoming and accommodating staff. We got to the resort at 3:30am and our room was ready, the driver took us straight to our room where the front desk staff was there to check us in. Our experience was amazing from the time we landed in Cebu. Ms. Paige and her spa staff are amazing. We did family massages and they were the best we have ever had and we have had a lot over the years. Trixie Jennie and Anja did our massages and they were all fantastic. When Ms. Paige found out that it was mine and my husband’s 30th Anniversary she helped me surprise him and that made our Spa experience even more special. The Spa is magical, the atmosphere, cleanliness and staff are excellent. If you stay at Planation Bay you must go to the Spa. My husband also got a manicure and pedicure which were also amazing. If we had more time we would have gotten another massage. Other staff that made our stay amazing were Monica, MJ, Carina and so many more. All of Kilimanjaro staff were great. Breakfast at Kilimanjaro never disappointed. The life guards, and pool staff were great. The bar staff was also great no matter which one we used. Our cooking class with the Chef was fantastic. Plantation Bay is amazing and we now know why they are about to celebrate 28 years of success. Plantation Bay cares about the customer and provides excellent service.

We picked this hotel because I had my diver license done here some 20 years ago. And now I am bringing my family to learn diving here . This is our first day but it is terrible and unpleasant experience right from the start . They have a super high lagoon pool which we have direct access from the room. The kids were so excited to swim and play in the area right after checked in. The pool is huge but the depth of water varies without any notice , the worst thing is that the flooring of the pool is full of sharp stones , debris , sand and whatever which u just feel the sharpness and has to be very careful EVERY STEP YOU MAKE when u walk in the water but it is still very risky cos u never know what u will be stepping on and hurt yourself . My elder son was so unfortunate to GET CUT ON HIS FOOT (the sole) RATHER DEEPLY AND BLEEDING . I called for the medical right away and I must say Christia is very good and professional and she did the first aid thing and helped stop the bleeding . This having said, it is still a terrible experience when the lagoon pool is your signature features in the hotel . It is totally unacceptable to any hotel standard or any public places safety standard !!!! How can a pool be filled with sharp and unseeable objects and prompt to hurt anyone who plays around in the water ?!?! This reflects the operational standard and safety awareness of the hotel management! If it were with other branded international hotel , the GM has already come over to understand the situation ,take action or at least make some applogy

Response from Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, General Manager at Plantation Bay Resort And Spa
Responded 3 weeks ago
Dear williamcheung1017, We are sorry to hear about what happened to your son. Our saltwater lagoons are cleaned regularly and even totally drained every 2-4 weeks but, spanning over 2 hectares, they cannot be maintained to the same standard as a tiled swimming pool. On a positive note, we're glad that we were able to make amends when you met our Duty Manager. Christia also appreciates your kind sentiments. Thanks again for bringing your concerns to our attention while you were still here. Your prompt feedback enabled us to provide resolutions and improve your experience. Sincerely, Brian Noel General Manager

Great but needs improvement. Been to this resort a few times in different years. Strict on areas, visitors are only allowed till 6pm we had to adhere to this or get a huge fine! Rooms: spacious room, bathroom & balcony. Huge very comfy bed. Air condition is quiet and works well. Food: There’s nothing outside the resort so prepare to drive further to find restaurants in the area so we mainly ate inside the resort but it’s not the greatest menu. Limited option for main breakfast at Kilimanjaro cafe. One morning it was Mexican breakfast, Chinese breakfast & Filipino breakfast. We didn’t enjoy the Mexican & the Chinese breakfast so we just opted for the continental breakfast. They ran out of fruits sometimes & we were told it’s not going to be filled up again. Great option for lunch and dinner and has a nice ambience which ever restaurant you go to. Best Ube milkshake at the diner & at the other restaurant by the beach. Must try! Pool/Lagoon: Pool is nice but the lagoon had a couple of slugs on the side which means it’s not been cleaned regularly & its slippery in some areas which is dangerous if you have little kids. My 2 yr old had a small cut in her big toe & was bleeding the first time she step into the shallow area in the lagoon so just be very careful. One night we saw the pool has been cleaned which was nice but maybe not the huge lagoons due to the size of it. Overall it needed a good clean we thought. We still had a great stay all in all, it was a relaxing few days with family. Staff are friendly and ready to serve you.

this is my 2nd time visiting after long years and the place remain impressive with its lagoons and excellent service..due to the holiday season guests are treated to christmas serenade at their restaurants on evenings..most of the facilities are adequate to make their guests remain active throughout their stays, plus they offer a range of outdoor activity packages foods are tasty but except that their serving sizes are SMALL i.e kare-kare which was stated to be for sharing but ended up just enough amount for 1, liliput burger, half cup of rice etc but overall staffs offer professional service standard which make our overall stay enjoyable & a memorable one

I don’t know where to start. Plantation Bay has been the best holiday resort we have had the pleasure of visiting. Its commitment to excellence and outstanding service, exemplifies the essence of wonderful Filipino hospitality. We went for Christmas on their home away from home package for 10 days with 15 family members. We had four rooms and stayed over both the Christmas and New Years periods. It is without a doubt the best Christmas and NYE we have ever experienced. From the start we were whisked straight to our rooms via private transfer from the airport where staff were waiting with shell necklaces for us all and lovely Alexa went through all the things included with our package including all breakfasts, a themed dinner, room cleaning, and laundry service as well as all the fabulous things on at the resort which were too many to mention. There were so many things to do we booked the Champagne brunch Christmas Day. It was like a tasting menu at a Michelin stared restaurant. The food was exquisite. We went to the NYE party where the entertainment and dancing and food and drink not to mention amazing fireworks made the whole night magical. We also had a driver for a few days and visited churches, a local orphanage, a guitar factory famous for top quality well made guitars, did a day trip to Bohol and the coral reef tour which was such an amazing day out. When you are with the people at Plantation Bay you truly feel like royalty. They take you to the best places, wait for you, make sure you have everything you need to make it the best experience possible all without any tips. It was the best service I have ever experienced and no one would take a tip which made it all so genuine and lovely in every way. The staff are just amazing. Too many to mention as everyone was so nice and couldn’t do enough for you. From Alexa at check in and check out, Kathy in the Palermo Restaurant, Paulo at the front desk, Cristina the nurse, Ralph at the booking desk, Freddie our driver and Alvin who kindly took our bags to meet us at the airport after we had short trip to Palawan before we flew home. Everyone went above and beyond to truly make it the best holiday of our lives. Moreover the staff’s unparalleled honesty always had us in awe. We left our credit card in a pocket when we had our laundry done and had a call straight away from the laundry and someone ran down to return it. We had a day in Bohol and forgot to lock our safe and everything including diamond and gold jewelrey and cash in both US and Filipino pesos were all still there untouched. We felt so safe and cared for at the resort. Anything we wanted they tried to provide for us and all without tips just from the kindness of their hearts. It is truly a magical place to visit and there no where else like it. We will dream about the day we can come back as I think everywhere else will fall short of this beautiful place. I feel very lucky we were able to experience it. Thank you to all the wonderful people responsible for Plantation Bay it is hospitality at its best.

We would not go anywhere else for a relaxing time. The Mogambo Springs spa is a class all its own. It's my happy place. The resort staff is very accommodating, friendly and always willing to assist. Despite its size and the number of guests, it did not feel cramped, hectic or crowded. The room was spotless - not a strand of hair in the tub or shower area. My husband and I availed of their long term rate which came with a VIP package that included a private transportation straight to our room - no lobby check-in or out. It was a very nice experience all around.
