We had previously stayed at another Savoy in Boracay and had a fabulous experience. Staying at the Savoy in Mactan as well was a no brainer. After however, I wished we hadn’t. To begin the door on our room would not close without a fight because the hinge was broken. Secondly the breakfast area is claustrophobic and crowded, and often out of almost everything. On top of that we were not told that breakfast was not included (like it was at the previous Savoy we stayed at) until after we had paid and checked in. On top of that we had 2 little girls excited for the pool and we were not told it was not able to be used until after as well. And to top it off my oldest daughter had decided she wanted Starbucks for one of the day’s breakfast and she met us in the breakfast room where she was rudely kicked out because of her little cinnamon roll being “outside food”. So we weren’t able to eat with our daughter. Savoy Mactan, do better. With the outrageous amount of money we paid to stay here, you would think they could pay for some customer service classes. …
Savoy Mactan is the BEST HOTEL TO HAVE YOUR QUARANTINE. Why? While I was still in Norway I called them and requested a room with a view since it will be a quarantine stay to keep my sanity and they did gave me a nice room with a mactan view. From the airport, their shuttle van is very friendly and accomodating. Shout out to Kristian and Jasher who welcomed me and took care of my bags. I paid only around 600php but itbwas worth it. And the receptionists are very friendly. My husband managed to coordinate with them to arranged a surprise welcome flowers and cake to my room. Thank you so much. The food service crew always grant me my order and the side orders😌😀 Overall stay is EXCELLENT. Special thank to my friend who made this booking for me. Savoy Boracay coordinated this with Savoy Mactan! ❤️❤️❤️ TUSEN HJERTELIG TAKK (a hundred thanks in norwegian).…
Very disappointed with our stay because of these cockroaches found in our room. Disgusting!!! Also, when we asked for an iron it took them ages to deliver it to your room with loads of phone calls to follow up your request. Definitely not staying here again.
Had a great time here, staff was really nice especially the guys at the door very helpful always had a smile on there face especially Dominic, Pedro,Elmer sorry if I missed any one out but all the Guards were GREAT
Reading the reviews, I was a little worried about the hotel .... but thanks to Maria on reception (hope I got the name right) to the large room. 1626. I had a very nice stay. Pool and beach area is under construction but price reflects that and you get an idea of what this hotel will become. Airport is about 20 mins away (depending on traffic) Loads of cafes and food places nearby. Would recommend staying here.
No frills and easy checkin. Room is spacious and clean. The hallway smells a little. And probably can be renovated/changed but not a big thing to worry about. The buffet spread luckily has good Cebuano dishes.
Spent 3 days at the hotel and I must say that we had a wonderful and memorable stay. The hotel staff were so warm and accommodating. We had a corner room with a very nice view. It has a spacious bathroom. Twas our first time to visit the area and we loved it. We enjoyed walking at night and we felt safe. There are so many restaurants, convenience stores and a supermarket nearby. I would like to commend Dominic of concierge for taking good care of us from arrival (airport) until departure. Hope we can visit again soon.
On arrival, my room was not ready and I was not the only one as the lobby was full of guests waiting for their rooms. When I did get the room, it was not the one I had booked…..and no it wasn’t an upgrade for waiting. I ended up with a room with 2 small beds. Usually a new hotel means good things but not in this case. There was all sorts of black residue in and around the AC vent, hopefully just dust and smoke not black mold. Often there was cigarette smoke odour coming from the AC so it may be likely that they aren’t changing the filters. The doors have an annoying beep if they aren’t reading fully closed so the hallway is an annoying chorus of beeps as meant need aligning. Housekeeping did not clean my room during my 3 night stay despite asking them to on day 2 and on day 3 I had to go to them to exchange towels. I went out to the pool but there was a rain of fine white dust possibly from construction but I left as I didn’t want to breathe too much in. There is a lot of construction in the immediate area and they are working evenings so be prepared for noise until late. There is not much to do in the area as much is still being built. My recommendation is to wait a few years for this area to develop and stay in IT Park.…
There is a reasonable amount of construction around the hotel, but we were not disturbed during our one-night stay. The beach access has been diverted around the block because two new hotels are being developed at the end of the road. Our room windows were missing several panes of glass that had been replaced by hardboard, but it kept the weather and noise out. The interior of the hotel smelt of cement dust. Overall, for the price we paid the hotel was acceptable. We were impressed with the furnishings in such a small room There is a supermarket and an extensive food hawkers’ corner within walking distance.
I arrived at the hotel following a flight from Boracay. Had not been to Cebu since 1991. In my naivety I thought I would book on the Island of Mactan, to be near the airport as I had hired a car, but this was a mistake as it just added an hour onto my journey. I was travelling with my wife and daughter so had booked a deluxe double for three. The first room they gave us was on the 7th floor, it stank of damp and had a wooden board where one of the 6x 4 windows used to be! We would have struggled to get our luggage in let alone another bed. They then gave us a room on the 9th floor, windows intact, smell acceptable but same space. When they arrived with the bed the guy was actually looking to unscrew the bedside table to fit the bed. After a while they suggested I paid for a larger room. I suggested they give me a room that could accommodate three adults as I had paid for. I asked to speak to the manager, who turned out to be a lovely lady called Cristabel (hopefully spelt correctly). This is where the storey changed. We were shown to a beautiful one bedroom suite on the 11th floor that was perfect. Beautiful accommodation to show service at the Savoy was not lost! We left early the next morning having watched the sun rise and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast in the lovely ground floor restaurant. Well done for doing the right thing Savoy.…
