Very large room, but not an actual suite!
All the amenities you could require, except an iron.
Great location, 10 minute drive to the airport. Staff were excellent and very happy to help. Your luggage is carried up for you by security guards; please tip!
It's a but misleading as the actual hotel is on the second floor, behind its sister hotel.
The ground floor business units were being renovated so building work going on during the day but not at all noisy and finishes at 4pm.
There's a great massage place on the first floor. I had 3! Very professional and about £12 for a 90 minute feet and body package.
There's a brilliant 7/11 store across the road where we spent nights drinking and chatting to the locals.
5 minutes walk to the large shopping mall and a great, cheap laundry service 5 minutes walk on the same side of the road as the hotel.
The security team were fabulous. spent many an hour chatting to them at night. Friendly and funny and most helpful. Thank you guys, especially the younger one!

We arrived at 9pm and there was no food available. There is a McDonalds 3 min walk away.

WiFi is poor but we bought data SIM cards at the airport for $17 as we heard internet was poor everywhere. The outside doesn’t look great but the bedrooms are clean and spacious.

Kind and helpful staff carried our bags and they collected us from the airport which is just 10 mins away.

Cebu offers a bunch of other hotels much better than this hotel. Poor product knowledge of staffs, inconsistent with information. Needs review on common courtesy. Supervisor wouldn't even reply to your email. Plus, no elevator, to my surprise. Find a better hotel with more efficient and properly trained staffs.

I have stayed in the Dulcinea twice in the last 2 years for a total of 4-5 weeks. This past year I stayed 20 days. The Dulcinea has some GREAT positive features. The beds are amazingly comfortable. Second are the people who work there. Extremely friendly, helpful, and totally polite.

Location is another gigantic plus. Directly across the street is a Gaisano Grand Mall, a middle-sized mall. Also are two very convenient restaurants—the Jollibee and Mang Inasal. Definitely try the Mang Inasal’s spicy chicken. There are other restaurants, but those are pretty good for a tasty, reasonably priced fast meal.

Right beside the mall are many small vans that take you all over. An easy trip is to the large SM Mall with many restaurants and a movie theater and bowling alley.

The rooms at the Dulcinea are kept exceptionally clean and the sheets are ironed to perfection.

Price. Reasonable.

Minor Problems: The bath fixtures are relatively old, but they are replacing them. The tub can be a little slippery and the sides are slanted the wrong direction, which creates water on the floor. They are also fixing this. The water pressure is weak. Also, do NOT leave sweets out. There are sugar ants that are kind of a nuisance. So simply do not leave food out for long. Keep sweets in the refrigerator. That solves the problem.

NONE of these problems, however, are more than just a bit bothersome. With all the positives I 100% recommend the Dulcinea. It is everything I said above and quiet. I will definitely stay there again when I go back to the Lapu Lapu area. Oh, there is free transportation to and from the airport. Also, the rooms are of nice size.

One more note. You can fairly easily get to other locations you wish to visit and taxi's abound and are not very expensive.

Hope this helps you make a good choice.

It is some five years since I stayed at Dulcinea previously so in terms of accommodation, the rooms, I knew what to expect and there can be no criticism regarding their room sizes, they are mega, the soundproofing room to room and room to corridor is lacking and, whoever designed the rooms, having a wall mounted television on one side of a wall and the next room's bed headboard immediately on the other side of the wall isn't exactly the world's greatest design concept when, as I was, trying to take an evening nap before working all night and thru until the next lunchtime.

I've learned not to take Philippines hotel offerings of breakfast too seriously and Dulcinea wasn't about to disappoint us. Five years ago I recall Dulcinea delivering a hot cooked breakfast to the room, I recall disgusting sausages, baked beans and, no doubt, eggs and toasted bread. Nowadays, for internationals, they merely offer, what they describe as, a continental breakfast of bread (made with sugar) that is neither bread nor toast, it is somewhere in between, two rounds of it yet only one miniature of butter, a barely warm overcooked fried egg, some jam (containing more sugar to lead to an early death), something indescribable and some fruit. For Filipino's they offer a choice of one breakfast per day and on this day their sweet and sour pork consisted of three pieces of COLD pork on top of a cup mould of COLD rice.

Before proceeding on … Dulcinea is NOT a hotel … A hotel needs to include a restaurant and bar, all Dulcinea has is a drinks cooler and some cup noodles and potato chips beside reception, having stayed at Dulcinea five years ago I was expecting this but I make this point before highlighting further Dulcinea's misleading marketing, indeed lie(s).

I made two separate reservations, via Expedia, one for Sunday night, check-in and check-out, and the other for the Monday night, check-in and check-out, Dulcinea clearly market their “Free Airport Shuttle” and I required their airport shuttle on the Sunday (Airport to Dulcinea) and then, late Sunday night, (Dulicinea to Airport) and, on the Monday, (Airport to Dulcinea) then on the Tuesday morning (Dulcinea to Airport).

Being one to organise myself, on the Saturday, 24+ hours before arrival, I ascertained from Dulcinea's “Contact us” page of their website their email address and their landline and, different networks, cellphone numbers, I duly emailed them to ascertain how I should arrange my airport pick-up etc., as I write this review, SIX DAYS LATER, Dulcinea still haven't replied to my email.

Later on the Saturday I tried telephoning Dulcinea on their, same network as mine, Smart cellphone … No reply. Later, still having not received a reply to my email, I telephoned them on their Globe cellphone, because Dulcinea had forced me into cross-networking cellphones this call didn't last very long until my credit expired but I was very firmly informed, with an attitude problem, that Dulcinea require two days notice for an airport shuttle and despite the fact that I was trying to book airport shuttles for the next one, two and three days “Miss Attitude Problem” representing Dulcinea wasn't having any of it telling me that it was stipulated in the 2nd page of my Expedia booking that they required two days notice for their free airport shuttle.

I rechecked my Expedia reservation(s), there was no contracted stipulation of the referred to two days notice and I duly printed out my reservations, including the “Additional Rules & Restrictions” of my reservations to discuss with Dulcinea's Duty Manager upon my arrival there the next day, Sunday.

Upon my arrival at Cebu Airport I took a metered taxi to Dulcinea (cost PHP100.00) and upon check-in I asked to speak with the manager only to be informed that the manager was on a day off. With the receptionist I addressed the problem that there had been no airport shuttle available to pick me up however could I have a shuttle back to the airport later that evening, the receptionist explained that it was impossible as they only have one driver and Sunday is his day off … So despite making a reservation for a Sunday with Dulcinea being contracted to provide Free Airport Shuttle(s) they don't actually employ a driver of a Sunday to provide said shuttle(s), I paid a further PHP80.00 for a taxi back to the airport that Sunday evening.

The receptionist did however accept my shuttle request for the next day, Monday, at some 18 hours notice and for the Tuesday so their advising that they require two days notice is just a lie.

So I am rating this review solely on Dulcinea's false marketing and downright lies if for no other reason than to make the point that “Honesty is the Best Policy”.

During a recent visit to the Philippines, my wife and I decided to visit Cebu in the central PI. Since neither of us had been to this part of the country before, we picked the Dulcinea off the internet for its convenient location near the airport and low prices. It is located on the main road north of the airport with a number of other hotels. After enduring a cab ride from the airport with the world’s stupidest cabbie, we managed to find the hotel on the north side of the road. It is not easy to spot unless you are looking for it. If you are crazy enough to drive in the Philippines, they do have parking. Despite its rather grand-sounding name, this is a tiny hotel—I believe it only has 16 rooms. It is on the third floor and there is no elevator. The lobby is small but tasteful. Check in was easy and the staff wonderfully friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was huge, especially by PI standards. It had a separate seating area with sofa bed and wide screen TV, a bar, refrigerator, safe, small dining area, large bathroom with both shower and bathtub and a king size bed that was extremely comfortable. Thankfully, it had a quiet ceiling mounted AC system that worked very well. The room was pleasingly quiet in part due to its setback from the road. We had some minor problems with the TV and safe when we first arrived but these were taken care of in a matter of minutes. Breakfast was included at their small 2nd floor restaurant and was quite good with a decent selection of local food supplemented by an omelet station. The only downsides we saw were tired hallway carpeting and the neighborhood which was more reminiscent of bustling Manila than the seaside resort we were expecting. However the location did make it easy to get anywhere you wanted to visit. This was a good first time experience and very affordable. However, when we return, we will likely pay the extra money to stay at the glamorous Marco Polo, north of Cebu City.

Booked this hotel for a quick stop over after more than a week of trip in Malapascua.

As soon as we checked in, Receptionist asked us to choose what we want for breakfast as it needs to be prepared the following day. We were tired from a land trip and it is pretty obvious but I guess this is something that is really of high importance. I needed to ask if this is something that can be done on a later time as we are exhausted.

Upon entering the room, the bathroom floor looks very dirty. There are still very obvious footmarks on the bathroom floor. Bath towels maybe clean but looks filthy as it is already grayish instead of white. Situation of bedsheet is the same.

Upon booking, they have described the room as ‘ocean view’. We stayed in room 311 which has sea view but you can also see the slum and garbage area of the hotel. They should probably change the description to ‘ocean view of poverty’

As we only stayed overnight, we didn’t bother complaining about these things. We are on holiday so we try to ‘chill’ as much as we can.

Upon checking out the following day, I sent my husband to the reception to see if the transfer arranged for 10h30 is already. It was around 10:25 and my husband was told that the shuttle just left and we need to wait before 11.

I went back to the reception as we have a flight leaving at 12. I asked why the transfer left without us, especially it is something I have arranged to ensure we will not miss our flight. The response I got is it’s because the guests on the shuttle already want to leave. I was, once again told that we need to wait before 11. I asked, what time exactly is before 11 as I have a flight at 12 and the response I got is just before 11. After stressing to the reception staff that our flight is at 12, they finally came up with the idea of getting a cab for us. They even needed to bargain with the can driver while we are inside the cab.

It was even a little bit challenging to get the security deposit.

For what I paid for the room, it is totally a waste of money. I’ve booked other hotel within the area at cheaper cost and the service is way better. This, by far is the worst I’ve experienced in Cebu. Too bad I was not able to take any photos as I am more focused on taking care of our 8mos old baby who also traveled with us, but I made sure I have enough time to write this review because the service is at it’s absolute worst!

the Positive- The bed size and conforts. The room size 30sqm But not 60sqm like the advertize on Bokking.com, The view, the aircoon quite and perfectly orientated away from body, (after i ask then to adjusted my way) Staff friendly!

The Negative- Room 305. The Toilet was a smelly disaster, Due to the fact that the plumber didn't do properly the sink drainage a problem common in The Philippines. The average Maintenance man/boy in the Philippines are not trained, have no experience at all,and do not have a clue what they are doing, a common seen. No elevator, the BF. was below average, Stay 2 nights. , the hotel is only 6 years old and look like is 60 years old. i have give my Free valuable advice on how is easy to fix the problem of the smell. I hope for their on sake they will take care of. I might be Wrong,But due to the fact they didn't offer to change the room,I feel that all the rooms have same problem.
