Location is not convenient. Too far from the highway and you have nothing to do inside the village. No activities at all. The swimming pool is not usable. Indicated in our booking that it has complete amenities but they don't give the amenity kits unless you ask for it. Food is tasty and affordable. Very lutong pambahay.

The room was cozy and the bed and pillows were very fluffy. Me and my friend booked a suite & deluxe room which is connecting to each other. We had a comfortable stay and i enjoyed the bathtub too! Crossing to Vistamar resort to access the resort facilities was comfortable too! not far. Reasonably priced for a newly renovated room. Love the place. We will definitely comeback. And, ah the beach also was very inviting to swim clear & clean. Thank you to Ms Bianca and Ms Gem for very accomodating.

I looked at the photos of the suite and I was so happy that I made a reservation here, and they told me to wait for you to check in and give you a deluxe room.Do you think we are fools?I almost slept in that room if you hadn't told me. I told you again that I had reserved a suite for you to wait. The two rooms were quite different, but all the staff at the reception were unfriendly. I thought even a foreigner wouldn't know!I'm very angry.

This hotel is closed in in a compound, so if you want to experience the Philippines then do not choose Sotogrande. It's an okay hotel, however, somewhat expensive and you need to take a taxi to go anywhere. Sotogrande has a bed, a bathroom, a restaurant and friendly staff, but besides these basics, it is a lifeless hotel detached from any Philippine warmth and experiences.

Never have I ever experienced a 'hotel' that truly misrepresented itself on booking websites (Agoda). Where do I start? Location: Terrible. It's inside a private residential subdivision. Getting in and out of the vicinity will require cabbing it every time as the surrounding area is not really very pedestrian friendly. Facilities: gym and pool are in separate buildings from the hotel. You have to cross the road to the neighbouring resort which I think belongs to the same owners (Sta Lucia). And the state of that pool! I've seen public pools cleaner than what they have. Fixtures are all also old and poorly maintained. You can tell the management no longer cares about keeping this place presentable. See pics of even small things like toilet paper holders, sink, electrical outlets... Speaking of the pool, staff in the area weren't wearing uniforms so you can't tell if they worked for the hotel or not. I also got solicited by a boatman who I thought was another guest to go island hopping. Ironic because the clubhouse where the pool is has a gated entrance in front with guards who check if you're really a guest or not. But the back side of the building which is sea facing apparently can easily be accessed by boatmen looking for customers. Wi-Fi: Poor to non-existent. I thought being upgraded to a 1-br suite was a plus but apparently the Wi-Fi signal can't reach the bedroom so no Netflix prior to bedtime. The fastest speed I got was 120kbps... really laughable and extremely disappointing considering I booked this for the free Wi-Fi because I had to work. If you have business to do in room forget this place as the Wi-Fi sucks. Room: While suite is spacious, it is pretty old and the bed cleanliness was highly dubious. The pillows were some of the hardest I've ever slept on and while I found a spare one in the cabinet, not once did housekeeping even put a pillowcase on it! So basic... Electrical outlets were few (had to request for an extension cord) and not all the lamps connected to the light switches so at night I had to turn off each one INDIVIDUALLY if I wanted darkness. And contrary to what was advertised the curtains ARE NOT black out curtains. Nor was there any ironing facilities as listed on my booking. But the worst offence of all was the LACK OF HOTWATER IN THE SHOWER AND TUB FAUCET. If you want hot water, you have to turn the nozzle all the way to the left and it will slow the water flow down to a trickle. When I complained to the engineering staff they said they can't do anything as the heating system was centralised. Like that was my problem. I seriously considered switching hotels simply because of this. Over all, based on my experience this hotel barely makes it as a 3-star hotel... even the breakfast food looks like something they just buy from supermarket. Oh and the restaurant is so small that if you lose out on an indoor table during busy times, you'll be forced to sit outside where THERE IS NO SHADE AT ALL and you are directly on the eastern side facing the sun. The only saving grace of this hotel is the friendly and accommodating staff (except for the gym staff-- a guy who also doubled as the entrance security for La Mirada condo where the gym is) seemed annoyed every time I asked for help with the stationery bike machine. Otherwise, this hotel IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE PAID FOR IT (over S$100 per night)... I've stayed in faaar better places in Cebu City, Bali and Bangkok for the same or cheaper price. Avoid at all costs unless you have no choice!

Stayed in this resort for 2 days with my lady friends (8 ladies and three young girls - 2 tweens and a teenager). We booked a total of 4 suites. Everyone had a great time. Not only being around with wonderful friends but also the great accommodation we received. Front desk staff were very friendly. They helped our girls order for food delivery closed to midnight. The rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable, bathrooms were clean, outdoor swimming pool and lounge were clean and a great area to hangout. This is a nice resort to just relax, away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. It was quiet, peaceful, with great customer service.

Our family stayed for 4 days & 3 nights. The room, though kind of dated is clean and big enough to accomodate me, my husband and our 7yr old daughter. It has a vault, ref and wifi signal was good, shower has heater. Sotogrande building does'nt have its own pool. But guests can use the pools within the property and there are different kinds of pools which we all enjoyed. The beach front is a bit small but ok. I just wish they would clean it as early as 6am for those who want to take early dips. The food is somewhat ok and a bit pricey but we loved their grilled squid and chicken. Don't order the halo2 it is too pricey for the size and ingredients used. Don't expect the breakfast buffet to be big but generally, it has decent selections. All the staff were very nice and very friendly. The location of the hotel is a bit on the inside road and you have to take their shuttle if you want to go out to the main road and dine out. We sometimes just use grab for convenience. The hotel is located around 15 minutes from the Happy Beach and around 25-30 minutes from mactan airport. I can say that our overall stay was pleasant.

When I arrived there was no water available in the entire building so had to wait overnight until they fixed. After water service restored, unit I stayed in had a strange yellow murky water in the toilet no matter how often flushed. I have a feeling the rooms here vary in upkeep by the individual owners - condotel. Mine was fine but getting worn. The Wi-Fi in the lobby never worked the 3 days I was there. No pool but the owner of the unit you stay in may have use of the Vista Mar property next door. It’s lobby is torn up presently being remodeled but pool is nice. The beach area has no chairs, umbrellas or lounges. The food in the lobby restaurant of Sotogrande is below average, small portions and they price gouge. Desk told me both restaurants served same food although I never saw a second restaurant. The menu clearly shows prices but when they brought my bill it wasn’t itemized and it was a few hundred pesos too high. At first I thought they had brought me someone else’s bill. When I complained and added up the menu prices to show wrong total they made an excuse and refused to lower the bill. I asked for a manager to address this issue and that person made no effort to contact me. Their short term greed for 300 pesos cost them all future possible meals I could have eaten there. To be honest the portions were so small and the food so bad, I would not have eaten there again anyway. For better food and more reasonable prices and ambiance taking a Grab car to elsewhere is worth it. There is a lot of road construction in the area so getting in and out can be difficult, going through some trashy neighborhoods. Not an area you want to walk around. The “beach” nearby isn’t that great either. Better further north at resorts there (ShangriLa and Movenpick)
