1st night there, my boyfriend and I were woken up by the sound of small animals running inside our room. We didn’t see anything so we thought it was just our imagination. The next night, my sister (with a baby) in another room got woken up by a RAT! They tried calling the front desk but no one answered. Complained to the duty manager the next day, she said that they knew about the rat problem and already had pest control deal with it. Obviously that didn’t work. More issues had come up during our stay but duty manager was unapologetic and was more defensive. I advise you to stay away from this place unless you want a rat to hang out with.
Beyond the wonderful environment, the beach, pool, delicious food (good for kids as well) and warm people with great service makes it incredible. Safe for kids, my 4 year old daughter enjoyed at the kiddie pool. We stayed at the premiere deluxe room which was comfortable with garden and ocean view, love to have our breakfast at our own porch. Also, with pool near to the room. We are the only one at the resort on weekdays so it was very safe for our family. My hope for this resort to improve are faster internet and variety of breakfast options. But everything else is understandable because of pandemic.
Their day use promo was great. Staff and Food were great. Our big family had fun in the pool. The place is beautiful, spacious and clean. We also like the landscape/gardens. The beach wasn't very inviting though, lots of ?grass.
Staffs are quick and responsive. They serve fresh foods. You can watch sunrise by just sitting in the restaurant/cafe or in the pool area. The whole place is peaceful and relaxing. Rooms are cozy. You can take a walk or run in the sea side as well
We were transferred to sotogrande due to on-going repairs on vista mar. We were not refunded with price difference!! They kept telling us we were upgraded which is a blatant lie because the rooms in sotogrande are cheaper! We were transfered to sotogrande's cheapest rooms!!!
booked four days...asked for pick up from airport quoted 1200 pesos...ummm taxi 245 pesos...arrived room offered queen or king...both same...so went with king...than had to pay for full stay up front...14500 plus taxes....room was puck green with dark wood work...balcony was very small...room for 1 person only....asked for dinner..not available..room service not available..was told i could go to SOTO GRANDE over the road....im glad i did as the food at this hotel is excellent and at the right price point and available to 3am...ok back to Vista Mar...pool very good...views excellent...house keeping very good and beds very good....down side rooms not well maintained, sink leaking, wood panels broken, ac very load and noisy...breakfast inconsistant, day one buffet, day two all cart but no fruits..toast was just bread, no butter or lurpac,,,no chocolate, no water yes no water...no fresh fruit juice just tang squash which was to strong....had lunch two sandwiches, two cokes..one ice cream...only strawberry avaiable...1300 peso...you can have the same at SOTO GRAND for 750 peso....when i asked i was told that the bill has tax to be added...so 90 pesos for coke then add tax two cokes 90 plus 90 pese eqals 180 pesos..charges 224 pesos a 17 centarvos....what a ripe off...the manager should be ashamed of his business acumen...when you want ti book a taxi into town the is a pre charge of 100 pesos..then the taxi fare...or you can book private car at 100 pesos more than your taxi fair.....this hotel is out of the way and you need to go through a squatters village to get to resort....would i recommend...a big NO.....look else where....the SOTO GRAND is very good....but you still have to go through squatters areas...and walking does not feel safe in these areas.......ive rated terrible but due to tax issue would rate poor....not a safe or comfortable place to be except at pool or in room ...i did file out hotel comment form and explained my points when checking out...…
If you are looking for a quiet place to relax while enjoying the beach, this is the place to go. Clean rooms, friendly staff and beautiful place. The only downside would be that it is far from Cebu city proper, in case you want to have occassional partying.
Hotel has seen its best days about 15 years ago. Really need some renovation. Restaurant was quiet and food was not really fresh. Small beach and pools were dirty and old. Rooms need some renovation as well. There is pretty much nothing to do than sleep. Staff was really friendly and kind. They brought us some wine for neighbour bar 'cos they didn't have any.
the place is run down pool area is dangers broken tiles every were both pools have to wear flip flops in pool, the beach area closes at 5pm not even close to dark and pool at 8pm. no formal dinning area and they are out of food saying do to x-mas this is jan 3 -6 and they ran out of booze they are far from any thing. no face towels and no towel for floor in bath. they pile up branch's and old shutters and other junk close to kids play area and other area when sitting around pool. service realy bad 1 other couple in dinning area we sat down after 20min we had to go to bar and ask for drinks when 4 people are standing talking then had to go ask for menu and that's when we ordered right before food comes out told there out of wife food and they didn't even ask if she wanted something different then next morning same thing there out of wife's food after that we went out for food and if you want there shuttle it only goes to main street and if you want them to get a cab its 100 Pecos for there time up front. so if you like wasting money and get bad service and stay at a run down dumb with only plus is a view then stay there.…
I was here to use their beach and pool and here is my verdict : <Pool> it's okay. They can have more sunbeds and chairs at the pool. Pool staffs, however, were very helpful to cater our needs. <Beach> Very rocky and somewhat dirty. Apparently not the best resort if you come to enjoy the beach. <Food Service> TERRIBLE!! We arrived at 11AM and asked to have our complimentary light lunch at 1PM. They had all two hours to prepare stuffs, but we had to ask them over and over again about the food. We ended up having our light lunch on the take-out at 3PM, after 2 HOURS waiting. <Location> TERRIBLE!! You can barely get any means of transportation here without having to request the front-desk (where they charge you hefty of money). My friends and I had to walk 10 minutes to the main gate and get ourselves a tricycle and then, catch a GrabTaxi. If you plan to explore outside the resort, this place is not for you.…
