We stayted here for one night after a dive trip on Malapascua (a 3-5 hour driver and 45minute ferry crossing to the north) before returning home to the UK. It is close the othe airport and the rooms are fine with all that you need. The restaurant choices not the best (recommend the Rabbit Hole opposite the hotel if you can brave crossing the road), but breakfast fin4e, and for what we paid no complaints :-)

A nice hotel , nice room , great pool , great restaurant , fairly priced , close to the airport with a free shuttle service ,BUT our 4 yr old daughter was sick in the night and one of the bed sheets obviously had sick on , hotel charge us for having to clean the sheet ! I thought all bed linen was automatically washed after guest vacated the room , maybe not ? Therefore I can only give a 3 stars

A nice hotel getting a bit dated, bathroom fittings could do with a good scrubbing in shower. A well provided breakfast, eggs to order, great mixed omelettes nice coffee. No coffee/tea facilities in bedroom. A roof top pool with a nice view over harbour and bridge. We would stay again.

I was surprised by the number of 3 and 4 star ratings on here of Bellavista. Perhaps people that have not travelled much specifically in Philippines. If i compared to hotels in US (where i live), my score may be lower. But after staying at about 13 other hotels in Philippines (Manilla, Cebu, Lapu-Lapu). This was by far my first choice. When i return to Philippine i always go back to Bellavista. The immediate area was at first intimidating, seemed a little shady at first appearance, but my gosh was i wrong. I walked the area and mingled with the locals and found it to be very safe, freindly and accomodating. Hotel staff are delightfully freindly and attentive. If found the condition and decor of the hotel to be stellar in comparsion to other hotels in Philippine that ive stayed. Dont compate to other countries. You must compare apples to apples and in this case Bellavista is a glowing red shiny apple! Ive tracelled mostly business but also solo.

We had to stay for a stopover while catching another flight. The hotel is reasonably priced. The hotel rooms do show their age. The staff was nice and courteous. This was the best budget stopover near to the hotel. Good for a short stay

I wouldn’t have booked here if not for a nephew’s birthday celebration. I thought it was a lot easier to check in the same hotel and it was. I like the fact that they have free airport pick and drop off which not a lot of hotels offer. I would rate the food, 3, just your normal breakfast food, nothing exciting, not that yummy. The building is old and creepy. I think the lighting has to change to change the vibe of the hotel. In the restroom, you have to press the flush long enough to flush it out. The aircon is centralized so you can’t do anything about the temperature.

I suppose this might be one of the older hotels in Mactan Island and it's facilities are crying for some renovation. Stayed here one night as it was booked by a friend but I think it was my last. The toilet flush was acting up and took a while to do its job. The room carpet is old and has a lot of cigarette burns - we did choose a smoking room though. It could definitely be improved with some work on it!

I needed a hotel for our final night's stay on Mactan Island, so the day before our departure I personally visited Bellavista Hotel and inquired about a twin room for the next day. I was told there was a twin, but the window was blocked up and there was no view and the desk manager recommended a queen size bed instead. Reluctantly I agreed.

The next day we arrived, booked in and were shown into a small room with a three-quarter size bed, far smaller than a standard double bed, let alone what they had claimed was a queen bed.

I went back to the front desk and asked for the supervisor. After much to-and-froing the supervisor eventually appeared and I explained the problem. She offered us a king size room and said she would show it to us. On the way up she mentioned that it would be an extra charge.

I exploded and told her that I was not paying any extra, and she had to find an alternative solution.

As it turned out, the solution was a twin room which is what I had asked for in the first place, and this one had a view - of sorts.

Ironically, Bellavista means "beautiful view" but the views from the windows of this hotel, where there are any, are of the grubby Mactan Island port and its surrounding corrugated iron shanty towns.

We were leaving on a 7.20 am flight, so I had asked for a 5 o'clock wake up call. It never came.

Thank goodness for my own inbuilt human alarm clock.

On the plus side, Bellavista is very close to the airport, and they provided a free shuttle which had us there in five minutes.
