Upon arrival, I was greeted by an unenthusiastic Front Desk lady who did not even smile when I arrived around 1:30 AM last December 6, 2016. The Security Guard was far more than happy to see me. A deposit for incidentals was not asked from me despite the signage that the hotel requires payment upon arrival. I asked for the location of the comfort room and I was directed to an area behind the Front Desk. It was cluttered with stuff everywhere and dirty (not pleasing to the eye).
I reserved a Family Room thru Expedia but I was given a Superior room with 2 beds! The lady at the Front Desk insisted that I reserved a Superior Room. Upon arriving at the room (room 410), I was given a Superior Room with 2 beds! Tired and sleepy, I called down and insisted that I have the wrong room because based on the picture online, the Family Room looks different from a Superior Room. The lady at the Front Desk told me that will she verify with Reservations. No apology from her. Then I went down to he Front Desk, since I couldn't wait any longer, and showed her the confirmation email from Expedia on my phone that I indeed reserved for a Family Room. She just proceeded to put the blame on Reservations and did not even apologize for the error after giving me the key to my Family Room.
I then remembered that I left a bag inside my old room, she politely suggested that she will ask someone to deliver my bag to my new room, HOWEVER, I had to wait (at 2'0' clock in the morning!!!) since that person who is supposed to bring my bag is still OUTSIDE of the hotel! I mean, why suggest, if you cannot deliver.? I then declined her offer and got the bag myself.
I guest this is what a stand hotel is. Staff must be well trained to engage with guest properly and learn to apologize for their mistake. Oh and by the way, pictures on your website are deceiving to your guests as they look entirely different from the actual look of the room. This was supposedly the reason why I chose Canberry. When I saw my room, I was completely disappointed.

If you're looking for a hotel for a short stay with a limited budget then Canberry Hotel can be a good choice. Standard room for 2 can be as low as PHP888/night or around $20. Easy reservations, clean room, decent wifi connection and very hospital and welcoming staff. It is also very accessible.

Such a lousy restaurant service! Let me ask, are you really serving a buffet or plated dinner? Such a disappointment! As early as 7pm, your buffet chafing dishes were all almost requiring for refill except for Bicol Express. I asked ahead if you would be refilling all the food since my friends were on their way and a clear YES was replied. I also overheard a couple making sure that there would be refill, almost empty na! haven't eaten yet except for the soup. When my friends arrived, seeing the chafing dishes almost empty, they were disappointed. We were not ordering for ala carte that we have to wait for more than 30 minutes. How many 10 minutes that the dining crew had said that the refill would be available? Oh yeah, it was not even a refill for a buffet, a refill good for one to two persons. We were three and we have to limit to 1 piece each of the fish fillet since there was a couple waiting also to get a share of the fillet. Do you think we will pay 198.00 for unlimited bicol express, rice, soup, drinks and the main dishes, where? We had to satisfy our craving and hunger with watermelon and maja blanca. When the refill for chicken curry arrived, yak, no taste already and the chicken meat was dry. And the refill grilled belly with sauce? So dry, no sauce! The refilling was taking too long when there was still almost two hours before you close, yet, no food already. Take note of this refilling system of yours! Better stop your buffet offer or review what it takes to offer a buffet. The line up of food/menu was great but not properly served. This experience has made us to have a second thought of bringing friends to your hotel.

Bad customer service. No parking lot for guests. Should have notified the public in advance that they can only provide for guests with no vehicles. Elevator is card activated yet they only provide one card key to the room, which also serves as the power switch. Very inconvenient. If you're with someone and you have to leave the room, you need the card key so you can go back up for the elevator, leaving your companion with no power inside the room. Overall, nothing good. Better book another hotel.

This is literally where i live whenever i report to work in Cebu.
Simple hotel with very friendly cebuano associates.

Very accessible to our office and to the central area.

You can reach anywhere through jeepney or taxi.

I stayed here with my family of four. I booked doublebed, but got twin room. That annoyed me first, course i had made my wish of the doubleroom very clear. At the end, the staff put those two beds together and we slept there very well. Overall this is basic hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. There is minus that you need your doorcard for using elevator, but also the card gives electricity to the room, so if you need to go up and down, you have to leave your company without electricity or use the stairs. Special thanks to guards, overwhelming care taking and customer service.

I am writing this on my final evening at Canberry. I am alone on a business trip.

The standard room is small but it is more than I expected. The elevator requires your key card to access your room’s floor, room door and to provide power to your room. The room has no closet but there is a rack with clothes hangers.

The bed is comfortable with a blanket to keep you warm and the small window type Carrier conditioner (0.6 or 0.75 hp) can get cold if the thermostat is turned all the way to coldest. Not putting the thermostat to coldest would have inadequate.

The bathroom is also small. The door doesn’t open all the way and will hit the panel of the bathroom sink. I am sure that most everyone could fit in the doorway. The shower has the regular shower which you can detach from its holder or choose the rain shower head. The water seems to be sourced from deep well because it takes a while for soap to lather and double the usual amount of shampoo to lather.

Housekeeping comes in daily to make up the room.

The cable TV channels are adequate for news and entertainment. Charging your phones can be tricky if you don’t know or did not find the hidden sockets behind the bed.

No swimming pools here in the hotel. The dining room is also small and can get easily full. The wi-fi is good but can get slow.

I would have given this 5 stars had I not seen a small bug crawling around and then hide under the bed and a small flying bug which I caught and killed, both in the final evening.

At any rate, this hotel is good for rest and sleep after a day’s work. Nothing much else. Overall, the hotel rate is quite reasonable and offers very good value for money.

I stayed 2 nights at the hotel. The place is clean and have a very accommodating staff. Price is not that costly considering the place is accessible, just near a 24 hour convenience store and wet market. U can easily find jeepney also. Place is secure.

Our room is facing the main road so it was very noisy all the time. We requested to be transferred to another room but we were told that if we transferred we need to pay additional fee since no other standard room is available.

We requested for another key card since the power is cut everytime one leaves the room to get something from the car. The key card is needed to access the elevator.

No, I don't believe they have shuttle service. I agree with the previous post, uber or grab can you get there. Just say its in barangay Guadalupe right after the 711. Depending how much luggage you have in tow, you could take sm's mybus from the airport to SM City Mall then then take a jeepney to Robinson's galleria and take their free shuttle bus to guadalupe, it'll pass by the hotel. I doubt you'd wanna do that if your coming from a long haul flight though. Best bet is uber or grab, if you take a regular taxi make sure its metered.

Not sure if they do, however most cable providers here have cnn news and various other news channels that are in english. Else you could go to Ayala Mall as there are various restaurants that have cable tv there. Particularly the terraces and new restaurany wing there.
