I was travelling by myself in Cebu and chose to stay at the Cebu Guest Inn for three nights - a choice I definetly didn‘t regret! I arrived in the evening and before I could even put my backpack in the dorm I was already invited to eat together with the owner and her family since they were celebrating a birthday - I felt welcomed and home the minute I arrived at this place. I was amazed by the nice mountainview this place offers. Also the rooms were very tidy and clean, the staff very kind and supportive. After a five minutes walk you reach the street where you can catch jeepneys going to the center. I can definetly recommend this place!

It is a guesthouse run by a family and helped by their own relatives (the usual Filipino business practice). The staff are friendly and attentive. The room is clean and nice with window enough for the sunlight and fresh air. Their air-con gives enough coolness to the room. The comfort room is clean. They cook very good home-cooked meals here, the lady-owner cooks some of them herself. She is too shy to talk too much and you won't notice she owns the place. When I asked where was the owners, she just smiled and her staff just pointed at her. The place is well attended maybe because the owners live in the same house. All of these for a cheap price. I almost forgot, you can enjoy the view of the mountains from their balcony with free coffee.

Good to know that this is a gated hostel, cold drinking water is abundant, and a very friendly cat to keep me company while passing the time at the balcony that has a nice view of the mountainside. The location is ideally located beside a newly built Korean school for English.

Enjoyed the location. Very nice views of the sunset. Staff is very helpful. They provided free storage, which really helped me make the most of my trip to Cebu. They also have affordable high quality scooter and motorcycle rentals. Its a lot less stressful to rent from someone you can trust when your turning over your passport. I will stay here again when I return to the Philippines. Kevin

This hostel is outside town but it really doesn't matter since you easily can find jeepneys running to and from the city (jeepneys named Plaza housing are going to the hostel). Nearby you can also find a cheap bakery that's perfect for breakfast. The hostel itself is nice and so are the people working there, they're really helpful. The dorm we stayed in was definitely okay, the only downside was the shower that was broken but that can happen to anyone (of course we could use another shower). Also, the wifi isn't perfect. Overall this is a really nice place and I would stay here again.

The guy working there was really nice and helpful but the place is very far from central cebu, the cabdriver had a hard time finding it. Although its located in the mountains and from the rood top balcony you have a great view. We also found great street food while wandering around in the neighbourhood. The western guy that seemed to be the owner gave us the impression that you couldnt be walking around though... The place, especially the bathrooms were not very clean.

We spent overnight here to be closer to Tops and Temple of Leah as those were the places we planned to visit the next day. Coming from South Bus Terminal, we took a taxi and used Marco Polo as landmark since it is better known. Taxi cost 120pesos. Later on we found out you can come here from SBT by taking a jeepney to JY Square then another Jeepney going to Plaza Housing (04D route). Jeepney fare is 7Php each. Get off Holy Family Rd. Nivea Hill. The overnight stay in an aircon room cost 768Php. Water is free :)

Located a little out of the main city, overlooking Cebu. Good views of the hills surrounding Cebu, partial views of the city and ocean. Very clean and comfortable, the hostel is the second floor of a family home. Friendly and helpful, light meals and a good breakfast available for purchase. Small roof terrace; buy a beer [or not], relax and watch the moon rise while listening to the crickets or tree frogs nearly drown out the motor scooters. Can be hard for the taxi drivers to find- tell the driver to go to the JY square, then take the road past the Marco Polo Plaza hotel for a few hundred meters. The lane to the hostel is on the left, there are several signs on the crossroad including one for the hostel.
