Booking the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu every year for arrival or departure stop overs, its quality has not changed a bit. Service, food, accommodation and location of this hotel is excellent. We stayed their in January and February 2023 and for us it has still its flair. Especially chief cook JUANITO puts always magnificent food on the table at Cafe Marco, El Viento and the roof top BLU BAR!!!! To round your stay bar tender ROBERT will make it complete and surf you with his best cocktails.

Nice place to stay. I didn’t know continental rooms are not available anymore, I tried to book a room, like last time, as I liked the private checkin, then breakfast there, with roof top view. Overall nice stay, bit overpriced in terms of drinks such as coke. I’m not sure how much in other hotels like Seda, Waterfront etc. but 180 for a can of coke seems a lot even at their lobby lounge it was 180. I know hotels are usually more expensive :) food is nice, we had at the lounge a cold cut platter as snack, it was missing some cheese (used to have some cheese with it) Service in the restaurant very tentative (Blu Bar)

This visit to Marco Polo truly saddened me. If you read some of my past reviews of this hotel I noted it was my favorite place to stay anywhere in the world. This was my first post Covid visit and I was shocked and disappointed. - Basic maintenance has not been completed. For example, there is a glass elevator that goes to Blu their rooftop restaurant. This elevator was out of order and when I asked why I was told “Covid.” Covid travel restrictions were lifted a long time ago and that’s no excuse. In a second example, we returned to our room after a long night and the key did not work. It turned out the battery in the electronic device on the door needed to be replaced and the front desk understand the issue immediately, so this must happen often. Good hotels replace these batteries on a schedule so the guests never suffer from dead batteries. - Service, which used to be outstanding?@, is now unacceptable. First, the English language skills of most employees we encountered were sub par. Second, the person who checked me in was being trained, so the check in process was very slow. Third, service at the poolside bar during lunch was slow, the waitstaff inattentive and they failed to include my banana shake on the bill so as we are leaving the grab us and give us a second bill to pay. Fourth, service at breakfast was terrible. I had to ask for black tea three times before I got it, seeking some out 3 times as no one ever came to check on us. When we arrived around 9 AM there was no bacon (later replenished with bacon that looked so bad I did not even try it, fatty and not crisp), there was 1 banana, which was never replenished, there were no juice glasses (later replenished). The food quality was adequate but not nearly up to pre-Covid standards. Overall the service was lacking. - I was also disappointed that the lobby lounge, which used to have live music every night now has piano music only and only 1 night per week I am told. - There was a cart of dirty linens in our hallway both days Some of these things are not expensive or hard to fix. It doesn’t cost a lot to have live music in the lounge nightly as there are lots of singers groups looking for opportunities. It doesn’t cost a lot to make sure you change door card batteries regularly Others are basic requirements if doing business. For example you don’t leave a glass elevator to one of the most expensive restaurants in Cebu out of order for month/years. I am purchasing a condo unit in Marco Polo residences and expected to regularly visit the hotel for meals/drinks, but if this is the quality and service we can expect, then I will not be utilizing their services.…

The experiences you described are particularly concerning, as we normally create pleasant memories for our guests as we did in your previous visits. Over the past days I shared your comments with the management team and we have reviewed each experience with the personnel involved. We do apologize for overlooking the electronic door lock of your room. As with all other room facilities, this should have been checked and resolved before the battery expired. We have further reviewed the lapses in service that you experienced at the buffet restaurant and poolside bar. We regret your disappointment and have underscored to all team members the importance of food quality, timely and efficient service to travelers. Please rest assured we are taking more stringent measures and further training in order to address these issues. We take good note of your comments to update and refresh entertainment in the hotel in general. To clarify, the scenic elevator malfunctioned after Typhoon Odette in 2021 and for safety reasons was closed by local authorities. Regretfully, the required components are no longer in production and must be fabricated overseas. Subsequent challenges owing to Covid-19, complications with foreign vendors and importation have led to this long delay. That said, the substantial investment of replacing the entire unit is now being considered as an option. Once again, please accept our apologies for not meeting your expectations at this time. We value your feedback and have taken serious note of your comments to help us improve our services. The hotel is very nice. Check-in was a breeze. Our rooms were nice and clean but the air conditioning was not adjustable and it was warm. We had to ask for top sheets as the comforter was too heavy given the temperature. Having multiple dining options was nice. The cafe near the pool was nice and the pool was beautiful. Staff was accommodating to every need. We enjoyed our stay here.

In the arrival at reception, the welcome us without any hesitation kudos to that. With all their smiles, you will never hesitate to ask some question. Every call we request, there's an action right away. The crew who goes our room was good, I think they really live their job. Maybe the other side was, the 3 rooms where check out 1 hour after it was bit late. But the food was so delicious, maybe it was a bit pricey but there's no regret on it. I even talk to them because I didn't there should be reservation but they provide us actions right away. I think that was their supervisor. It has spectacular view from the room. Cleanliness was observe. Kudos to all the staff.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The food is great, staff is accomodating, room service is fast and housekeeping (Aldren) is commendable.Though the aircon is not that cold and pillows are already flat, we still had a great time there. Will definitely come back!

Great dining options and excellent service by the staff. The rooms are old but they make up for it with excellent customer service. Wifi could be better. The Chinese restaurant is one of the best that I have been to. This is a new favorite of mine and I will definitely be back.

The food in the Cafe Marco and the swimming pool side restaurant were all amazing! We enjoyed one lunch buffet in Cafe Marco on the day we arrived and all the breakfast of the following days. The amount of choices and quality of food were beyond expectation. We had dinner twice at the swimming pool side restaurant. The mozzarella cheese salad, blue cheese gnocchi and chicken pizza were all VERY GOOD! All the staff in Marco Polo Plaza are all extremely nice, including the staff at the lobby counter, the waiters and waitresses in the restaurants, the swimming pool lifeguard and even the cleaning staff. They all greet us lovingly no matter when they see us. The cleaning staff arranged our rooms meticulously, grateful for their thoughtful efforts. By the way, the swimming pool lifeguard is extraordinarily nice! Whether daytime or night time, we had very excellent swimming time with his company. We are especially thankful to our tour guide, sir Don. We booked a Moalboal Pescador island snorkeling tour from the lobby counter for the third day of our trip, April 3. He is a very warm, considerate and respectable gentleman. We are blessed with his company for our marvelous snorkeling experience. Highly recommend him for the future costumers of Marco Polo Plaza.…
