Advertised as 'USDA beef' burger, I thought that's for me! Please give me that and a Coke Zero. I was very surprised that they had no Coke zero but only had Coke light. Here in the Philippines Coke Zero way outsells Coke light so I was surprised to be told that they only serve Coke light. But don't sweat it I was just looking forward to a hamburger made with USDA beef! When it arrived I could hardly believe that I could count the amount of fries on my plate. Really Guys? Really? The least expensive thing on the plate and you couldn't pile up the fries? As you should well know, Fries is the western version of rice to westerners. I can't imagine serving a Philippine dish such as chicken adobo being served with a tablespoon of rice. So why would you serve a western dish with 13 French fries on it. Yep, as I said you can count them. So now I'm looking at the burger wondering why they have used an English muffin as a bun. I mean did they run out of buns and substitute the English muffin in place of it or is this their own twist on their version of an American burger. I took one bite into the burger and immediately something didn't taste right. It was one of those circumstances where you know you shouldn't of swallowed it, but did and wished you hadn't. It wasn't Rank bad, but bad enough where you knew that you shouldn't take another bite. So I called the waitress over and told him that the meat was bad. She apologised and offered to make another one to which I replied there is no sense in making another burger from the same batch of meat because obviously it had gone bad. I then asked for the bill. When the bill came it still had the burger on it. So I asked the waitress is it their policy to expect the customer to pay for something that they had not eaten due to the fact that the meat was bad? She then said "sorry sir I will take it off". Really? You're really going to try it on with the customer 1st to see if the customer would just go ahead and pay anyway? In these times of Covid you need all the business you can get so serving up bad food and then expecting a customer to pay for it is certainly not the way to bring that customer back to give you more business again. It's really a shame because the decor is very nice inside the hotel. I guess I will try again after Covid is over but for now it gets a one star!…
Great customer service! Peaceful and quiet. You could see the swimming pool is well maintained- looks very clean you’d want to take a dip all the time! The kids enjoyed our 2 night stay. We would love to come back.
Our daughter loves the pool and she loves to have a staycation every time her birthday comes up. Marco Polo has always had a special place in our hearts. This is where we stayed to dress up when we had our church wedding in 2007. The fact that the hotel seems to have kept up its facilities at a premium level despite the global pandemic circumstances was an even greater joy! And yes, we just had to take home boxes of the famous Malicious cookies!
Didn't expect that we will be enjoying our stay here and also the staffs are accommodating also had the great experience in the pool!!! 😍 It is indeed a best day off for my family staying in this hotel.
This year, we have already stayed twice (New Year’s Day and Easter holiday) at the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel. Why? Simply because it’s our favorite home away from home in the city! My son in particular loves the pool area. We enjoyed the overall ambience and wonderful food at El Viento as well. We’re already planning our third staycation, so we can’t wait to be back! See you soon!
