I like the mattress. The shower is old and sometimes I don't feel like using it because of the tiles that are stained. The good side of this hotel is their staffs, they are accommodating and friendly.

The location is literally at the central part of Cebu City, which is very near to nearby malls and bus terminals going to different parts of Cebu. A lot of restaurants nearby so it won't be a problem choosing where to eat.

No swimming pool here. Kids has no place to play or enjoy.

My first time in the Philippines. I had actually booked myself into another hotel, But i checked out of that hotel and checked myself into the Rajah Park Hotel. Came across this place by accident.
Location was excellent, Staff were extremely friendly. Room was nice and clean. This place was lively, it had live music in the evenings and was busy.

Overall a really good stay

i once stayed in this same hotel when it was still named Garwood Hotel a couple of years ago and i really regretted every single day i was there. I felt that most of the staff especially the roomboys and front door personel are just up to the tips that you give them. They are like alligators with their mouths open waiting for you to throw food to feed them before they would give you the service that you expect from them. I think the hotel owner doesnt even bother to visit his hotel to check on his business and staff. I swore to myself that i will not come back to this hotel after that experience BUT this year i had the chance to be back in Cebu for a business trip and had the problem again on to which hotel i would stay that is accessible to everything. i happened to pass by Fuente Osmena rotonda and realized that Garwood Hotel is already named RAJAH PARK HOTEL.
Out of curiosity and desperate to find a very accessible hotel to stay in, i stopped by RAJAH PARK HOTEL and asked the doorman why its name was changed and found out that the hotel is under new management which was pretty obvious by the "new look" it projected. It was a 360 degrees turn around from what it used to look like that it even tempted me to give the hotel one more chance to book myself...so i did.
Wow!!!! the hotel is like brand new. From the happy and friendly faces of their staff to the walls of their restrooms are all new. And the room rates are very affordable too, you should try it. and i also noticed that the new owner of the hotel is personally supervising his business thats why the cleanliness, effeciency and the accomodation is very personalized. Its the BEST UPTOWN HOTEL in Cebu. Price wise and Quality wise!!! Two Thumbs up!......if i was wearing sandals with no socks then it would be Four Thumbs up!!

If you’re looking for a 4 star establishment, this place is not for you. But if you want no frills, best location, charm and the famous Filipino hospitality then this is perfect. It’s an older small hotel but they keep it clean and free of odor.
Located in the heart of the Fuente area in which you can get your necessities within walking distance. The mall is just across the street, 2 drugstores and food are literally steps away. I got to enjoy the beautiful sunrise and the display of Christmas Lights in the rotunda from my room. Free breakfast is served at the Mecios restaurant by the lobby. Food is served all day and live music and dancing at night.
I stayed here twice during my recent visit in Cebu and definitely will be back.

I just got back from Cebu a couple of days ago. I booked into Garwood Park. My gf told me to only book for a week in case I didn't like it. Well the first few nights was good, but afterwards the air went out. All the rooms were baking since no air was moving in them. My room faced the afternoon sun so I had to kepp the drapes drawn most of the time. It really got bad a few days later and mangement slipped notes under everyone's door saying they will help residents find other lodging for the night. I did book another hotel with the help of one of the the guys working security at Garwood (Rodell, thanks a lot). He even helped me to find a nice ring for my then gf (now fiancee). I guess that the saving grace for Garwood is the friendliness of the staff. And the food. It puts a normal continental breakfast to shame! Absolutely delicious. Usually you have a choice of 2 different rices and then 2 meats, a noodle(usually pancit cantonese) fresh fruit, juice water, coffee, or tea. Now you can askm for bottled watter, but it will cost you 40 pesos where they stock your fridge for 35pesos. and I think this could be an awesome hotel because it has excellent location near Robinson's Mall. A lot of Eateries and some shops. It has armed security as well as hotel security, and you almost NEVER have to wait for a taxi. I only stayed for 6 days then went to another hotel..

I have been coming in the Raja Park for a long time, ever since it was called Park place, which was before it was called The Garwood, while now it is called the Rajah Park.

Always enjoyed my stay there: friendly people, but make sure you do not accept the first room you are given as there are differences between the rooms that are not always expressed in the price. Some rooms have no window or have a view on a blind wall. The bathrooms are spacious but rather basic. I have had my best stay in the corner rooms on the upperfloor: Spacious and with a great view.

I saw the surroundings were described as 'grimey'. I do not agree. I'd say lively like most asian towns. Yes, there are beggars and salespeople around, but you find these on the Cote d'azur as well. It just belongs to cebu. None of the beggars (often children) are aggressive, but yes, sometimes a bit persistent. You will find this with many midtown and downtown places. The Raja park is situated smack in the middele of Midtown on the Fuente Osmena circle with the Robinson supermarket and many eating places close by.

The food is decent, service is good and i found the hotelstaff very friendly.
I am not saying this hotel is the best value for money (maybe then you should check out the Diplomat in Ramos) but it is pleasant to stay.

I have not encountered the cockroaches as were described, but if I have one point of criticism: The TV reception was a bit poor

I checked out and I was told I have a pending payment for a Coffee that I did not Order. I explained and the two receptionist keep insisting that I made that order even if clearly didn't order that coffee. They seem to be pushing the responsibility until I told them to double check the receipts and Find out that It was not Mine but from the room next to mine. And guess what? They pretended that they did not do wrong and just let me sign to check out and DID NOT EVEN APOLOGIZE for the delay they were causing me. TERRIBLE!! I almost pay to shut them up! Some of their staff needs to undergo a training again for a GOOD Customer Service!!!

I choose this hotel due to the location, uptown part of Cebu. It was considerably safer part of town and very accessable to public commute either by jeepney or taxi. From Airport to Hotel is around 20minutes without the traffic ($9.70/one way by cab). Be aware of the begging children outside the hotel, they tend to be pushy when they familiarize your face that you are very charitable. watch out for your wallet and bags too, as you dont know snatchers are just around the corner. But relax, anywhere in the world has negative side of tourism. This is Cebu, a mix blend of people and you are rather on the safer side of the city.
Adjacent establishments are Robinsons Mall(cheap clean food can be bought here-try the Cebu's Finest Lechon at the mall basement, it's the best($5/serving), Mcdonalds, Banks, Travel Agency,Bakeshop,Pharmacy, Laundry shop, Hospital(Cebu Doctors Hospital 0.5KM away),Chung Hua Hospital(0.1Kmaway), Vicente Sotto Hospita(0.1Km), SM Mall(around less than 10KM) and tourist spots are within 10 to 15mile radius. Just make sure when taking a cab to have it metered, so you won't be rip off. Larsian Street Food BBQ is just around the corner, try their famous HANGING RICE(defibitely a culinary experience for 1st time tourrist) and their flavorful BBQ with some exotic parts of chicken grilled(like CHICKEN gizzard,liver,butt,intestines,head,feet,skin,neck-not for fainted heart). Fine Authentic Restaurants is within the vicinity (ask the front desk) like Abuhan and etc.
The Sinulog parade route passes by at this hotel, I did watched the crowd and performers from my window-so convenient. During my stay, it was a mix of pleasant and unpleasant experience. I booked 1 month stay which I considered too long to visit a place, I was a personal guests of the Hotel owner Mr. M.V. At first the staff just don't pay attention to me, I just blend as other guests, but when Mr. MV invited me for a dinner at the lobby, the news spread fast that in the succeeding days of my stay, I was treated like a royalty, mmm that's odd.
This hotel has great potential because it is really in a great location however the rooms needed an upgrade, carpet look tired and old, furnishings look cheap and dirty, sheets and lines needs new replacement, sound proofing between the windows and the park should be a priority. During the whole event of Sinulog, I could not sleep not after 1 or 2 am because the sound blasting from Fuente Osmena Park vibrates through the window and intensely loud. AVOID the rooms facing the Park if you want quiet sleep but if you want to see the actions down below the park, Suite rooms facing the Park is ideal for you if you don't mind the noise.
The lift is decent, there is only one in the building. I rather take flight of stairs going up and down my room. Buffet is decent, mostly Filipino Dish. The attendants were very attentive to refill your coffee and clean your table, please dearly tourist give "TIPS" to these hard working people. Every morning, I went down for a coffee, I watched very demanding guests and don't even bother to leave a tip.
Rooms is not equipt with safety box but you can always leave your valuable at the safety box at the front desk, it was very safe because your holding a a personal key to your internal box and the box has double lock which only the designated desk officer has an access and separate key to open the outer box. there is a money changer 5 steps away from the front desk, so convenient and safe from the prying eye of whoever.
There is a Casino at the 2nd Floor, I took a peak and I saw a slot machine, Im not sure if they play Bacarrat or anything as I didn't tried to play there. There is also a Massage Spa in the 3rd Floor, however I think they need to tidy up the place to look more professional.
the Front Desk receptionist were helpful and pleasant. What amazes me is the Security or the Bell Boy who open s the door for you manually every time you go in and out the hotel with the greetings of "Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening Sir/Maam to every passers by. Jeeee1 that must be a dedication! Housekeeping job did an awesome maintenance of my room, I always leave them a tip. They were very respectful too and very quick to response to any of my additional request.
The room rate is reasonable but if they upgrade their facilities, they could go up next level hotel star. There is a hotel close to Rajah but I found it over rated and expensive. A 2 star travel lodge is nearby too but I would not dare to stay there.
Nevertheless I have pleasant Stay except for the Noise and tired facilities. I would definitely come back and stay with this hotel after they upgrade their facilties.
To all the Hardworking staff, I salute you...you did an awesome job!

I stayed here for 3 nights during Sinulog festival 2010. The hotel is right at fuente osmena, the traffic circle that is the epicenter of most of the action. With how hard it was to get cabs during the festival, it was really nice to be on location for what I felt was a decent price (I had not stayed other times or compared with other hotels in the area). They gave me a free upgrade for 2 nights that overlooked fuente which was great to see the live bands out of my window. They were attentive in many ways like this that I really appreciated as someone who hadn't been to cebu before. Everything was quite comfortable and the free breakfast was really very good, but it did end a bit early and no taking out from it. The hotel was a bit drab for the rate I paid for the philippines, but I am assuming this was the normal heightened rate during sinulog.

By taxi...! When you come out of the airport go right...! Don't take a taxi from "fix price promoter". Don't take the yellow taxis. Go 100 Meter to the white taxis...! That's what the Philippines do...! All are metered. Tell the driver: FUENTE OSMEÑA, RAJAH HOTEL the price is around 200, if lot traffic 300 php. No all rooms are non smoking areas... But in the ground floor is a special outdoor part of the restaurant where you can smoke, drink coffee or enjoy other drinks or food...!
