I like the mattress. The shower is old and sometimes I don't feel like using it because of the tiles that are stained. The good side of this hotel is their staffs, they are accommodating and friendly. The location is literally at the central part of Cebu City, which is very near to nearby malls and bus terminals going to different parts of Cebu. A lot of restaurants nearby so it won't be a problem choosing where to eat. No swimming pool here. Kids has no place to play or enjoy.

I'd stayed in this hotel for several times and it had always been very satisfying. However, wifi connection in the rooms were very poor or none at all so I had to use my phone's data during my entire stay. The hotel's location and very reasonable room rate is the best for vacationers. It's very close to shopping malls, fast food chains, convenience stores, drug stores, bars, etc.. Every morning, I even jogged at the Fuente Osmeña Circle just infront of the hotel. The hotel may be dated but it's fabulous, lively and fun all the time. The rooms and hallways are impeccably clean. Its best assets are its well-trained staff and it's nice ambiance. I always looked forward to its buffet breakfast.

I booked the hotel at short notice due to an urgent medical trip. I booked this hotel because of it's proximity to the medical facility I was visiting. I had sent an inquiry about parking but didn't get any reply before I left Negros to travel to Cebu. When I got there I found they had no parking at all, and no suggestions or arrangements to park elsewhere even. No parking provided for a hotel smack dab in the center of the city. How did they get away with it. I have some apartments in Negros far from any City and had to provide parking to get approvals. Unbelievable. Furthermore, despite the fact there was pay parking outside the hotel, max 2 hours, from 7am to 7pm. You were not allowed to park overnight or you would be clamped. I saw several cars clamped in the morning. Someone obviously has a sweetheart deal with some towing/clamping company. Room was ok, but as others have mentioned, past it's best and only one elevator. Breakfast was poor, no accommodation for foreigners. Ordered scrambled eggs at the egg station and got an omelet. They did have a band every night in the bar/restaurant. There were plenty of ballroom dancers, mainly older women and paid male dancers. The second night we were there we couldn't even get a table.

We stayed at the Rajah, not by choice but because a conference we attended which was being held there. As you exit the front door of the Rajah you are immediately in the heart of the city and all its character. There are street venders, beggers, the impoverished sleeping on the sidewalk, four lanes of traffic along with their horns blowing and smoke pouring from mufflers that constantly circle the four lane rotary, malls to your right and left along with many other store and shops from MacDonalds to Mercury Drug. And just before exiting the Rajah, just at the doors, there's the smell of hair-perminent from the neighboring salon. And while all this may be an attraction for some...my wife prefers a bit of a buffer before the city slaps her in the face. That being said: The Rajah, though dated, has clean rooms, a steady flow of hot water in the shower, a larger than most flat screen TV, including a fairly decent buffet breakfast with eggs-to-order, and the room rates are competitive.

THE location of this hotel makes it a better option. The place itself is outdated, needs major refurbishment. It was my Mom and Dad who have stayed here recently. They liked it. They have worked on their business smoothly due to the accessibility. They were attended well. Infortunately, the AC was totally not working. My 74-year-old Dad even took off his shirt just to take a “shallow” sleep. Well, this hotel is old. The work force needs to see and call for help on the back end.

Pro: The location of the hotel was right in the center with a roundabout was. Lots of food around and that's pretty much about it. Some rooms where big. Con: I had booked 2 deluxe rooms for two nights. Both rooms were outdated, mold on the bathroom, and the ac did not work properly. One of my deluxe rooms were very small and didnt have a window. We asked to change rooms and luckily they were able to accommodate after demanding the room be changed despite saying that they were out of rooms earlier. The new deluxe room also had an issue with the ac and the toilet didn't flush. The rooms were not made unless you hang the sign on the door, which I did not know about. No safe box in room. Will not be booked at this place ever again. This at best a 2.5 star hotel.
