any hotel can be good or bad the good ,,,,, is that i have had a good room boy who brings me a large flask of hot water each morning and if i have a problem he will solve it for me, the bad,,,, is the wifi it needs to be replaced, its so slow that at times im timed out when i try to make an airline booking and have to start again,,,have complained many times and have even ask 4 the owners name so i can complain to him...they will not give it when i go to the office on the 6th floor. the ugly is when i was changing room after i had checked in early in the morning the receptionist want me to pay for 2 rooms,,i gave her a mouthful,,,,that she should after guests needs,,,,ur thinking why do i go back.its easy i like thehotel and some of the staff i bring them sweets chocolate and clothe s for theier family all this was b4 covid

If you judge Century Hotel Cebu based solely on how it looks, this hotel is an easy 0 all throughout. It's old - very old, it's musty, and dated and dusty and maybe even dirty? But what it is , is a place for you to shower and rest up when you're in downtown cebu. I can sort of understand why the management does not want to renovate. It will cost money, and it have to increase hotel rates and along with it goes their core clientele. However, where this hotel shines is with their restaurant/ room service food. the food are freshly cooked to order and is very tasty at a very affodable price. wifi is bad. people have to go out of the room to get wifi signal. Lols. 4G signal inside the building is quite bad as well.

For 890 pesos , i got a big bedroom with cable tv(many channels) , a window(although tye view is of other old buildings & not a streetview of the Colon area) .. hot water shower included as well as a slightly noisy air-conditioner. The Elevator works well & they are in process of upgrading it to a Schindler Elevator.. The staff are actually nice if you are nice to them.. but i notice some very demanding Filipino patrons & this is always going to end up bad... The room is value for money although there are really not too many tourists in this Colon Street , Junquera Street area... Enjoyable stay

Front desk staff don't give proper greetings to the guests. Even just a simple good evening or good morning. The service was too hollow. When we get to the room, cabinets and the window sides were too dusty including the smell of the room. Everything's old including the elevator. Worst part is that one of the employees from the stock room or linen room where they instructed in the telephone line that u can call when u need some towel didnt bring us the towel and soap almost 1 hr has passed. When I called up again he said that I didnt called. So I asked for his name and he said its Rony and that maybe its not him that I talked first bout the towel bcoz he just got in, maybe it was his workmate. But I knew it was him bcoz of the voice. I felt disappointed and told him that next time they should complete the things needed inside the room and given the fact that it was dirty when we came in and we didnt bother to complain bcoz were already tired. He said that the room wasnt used for a while and unavailable bcoz the aircon is busted and he didnt knew that the front desk already made the room available and it wasnt his fault. Instead that he may ask for an apology in behalf of the hotel as one of the employees he chose to argue with me and cleaned his hands about my complains. When we checked out I asked one of the staffs of the front desk about their employee named Rony, but then they said they dont have any workmate with that name. Everything was so disappointing!!! It doesnt mean that we paid for a cheap hotel room you will also give us cheap service bcoz there are many hotels in Cebu that are cheaper but they offer good service.

The services are very good from the front desk, room service, food, and the staff are approachable. Ill book my next trip to Cebu in this hotel. It's very near to my usual academic work/ assignment. It's also accessible to stores and restaurants. And most of all, it's a quiet and safe place to stay in Colon area.

There's a reason why this hotel is cheap - everything about it is old (and broken lol) First of all, the moment i entered the room, a stench of cigarette smell engulfed me - the room was just reeking of cigarette smell. A lot of things inside the room are broken - aircon, shower knob, faucet.. It's really run down - the tv has no remote, there's an old ref, cheap bed linens, a sink that's barely keeping itself together. It's also noisy at night because of the videokes and bars around the area. You get what you pay for.

My first stay was actually tolerable but the second one was just terrible. I made a reservation on a booking site while I was on my way to Cebu so I didn't have the chance to print out my reservation. They didn't let me check in without it and told me to walk to an internet cafe about a block or two away which actually had no working printer that time so I spent the next 15 minutes looking for one and later found one that's nearer just across the street (I think its name was Roy's iCafe on the 2nd level of the building there was a burger kiosk infront of 7-Eleven) which the frontdesk didn't tell me about. When I entered the room they gave me, around 3 cockroaches welcomed me so I told the frontdesk about them but her reply was "just small cockroaches right?" in the vernacular which I speak. They let me transfer to a new one but its toilet was a bit stinky and the towels were thin and old and one of them also smelt cigarette but since I was too tired so I didn't anymore complain. I don't think I will be going back.

Good - The room is quite large and there is enough space to move. - The guard and the utility personnel's service are amazing. (it seems they had more customer service training than the frontdesk personnel) Poor - The rooms are still being renovated. On our stay, a cockroach crawled on my hand while we were sleeping. The toilet has marks and are unclean. - Unable to sleep because our room is located right in front of a Bikini Bar. Videoke did not end until early morning. - Poor wi-fi connection in our area. Worst - Since we encountered a not-so-good experience the night we checked in, we tried to request to be transferred to a room away from the bar and near the wifi router. We made the request at check-out schedule (12 noon) so it will be easier for the concierge to commence the transfer. We were surprised to be told by the frontdesk lady that the rooms are 'just the same'. - Rude frontdesk personnel - I initially called and communicated in Cebuano dialect and she would talk as if she was talking to a staff of lower rank. Would not accommodate my request. Called back and used Tagalog language and she became more calm in talking with me. But still would not accommodate our request for transfer. Seems this conceirge lady has a different approach to foreigners as more nice reviews for this hotel are from tourists from other countries. Tsk. Tsk. - Also, when we checked-in. The 2 front desk ladies were not attentive on us as they were busy talking about their AVON business. One night was enough for us. We opted to transfer to another hotel.
