best place to go if you need GYM and pool but don't like the room set up. Its nice if it was renovated. our room was place in the center so we cannot see any light from the outside. Amenties were great.

I have stayed several times at the Holiday Spa Hotel, since they have a 25m pool that many triathletes (including me) use to train. The rooms are ok, aircons are usually a bit loud. Wifi is technically not existing which is quite normal though for the Philippines. Staff sometimes takes ages for the check-in but that is also ok. All in all, quite ok, quite average.

Spa: I once had a massage which was also quite ok, apart from the masseuse constantly burping.

Make sure that you don´t get a room next to the disco nearby; otherwise bring good earplugs, in case you´re a light sleeper.

The best thing about the hotel is definitely the pool (there is also a good gym that needs to be paid extra, though) and the great location close to very good restaurants (Maya and a couple more at Crossroads).

I had encountered lots of problems/annoyances while I stayed at Holiday Spa Hotel. The first problem being 1) the incompentant hotel staff. The restaurant staff mixing up my orders and giving me the incorrect order, and also they tried to tell me I did not have breakfast included, which annoyed me and I had to get it my bookig details to prove them wrong, the food was sub par not good or bad in the middle to say the most. The Second problem 2) inadequate toiletries. 2 tiny bars of soap and a tiny bottle of shampoo is not enough for two people !!!!!!! Very angry at this alsobthere was no fridge!!! How are we supposed to keep our water cool when the temperature is 33 degrees celcius!!! 3rd problem 3) very rude pool/life guard. Made me and partner get a hall pass every time we went out for a swim. Why the hell would you need to get a hall pass for every time you wanted to go into the pool??? This is the first time i have had to do this, and is tedious and embaressing having to ask for a pool pass, may I add that I feel we were targeted by the pool guard because of my age (18) but 18 or anything over age of 12 in this place claims that 12 and up is considered adult! Also I saw no one but my family provide hall passes, everyone else I never saw get one!!! So annoyed. Fourth but not last problem 4) over crowding of pool! This also ties with the third problem. There are so many outsiders swimming at the pool and the angry pool guard allocates us a section of the poolbto swim in. What the heck?!?! Out of a 12metre width by 27length metre pool, we were only allowed to swim in 1 and a half meters of it??? Very unhappy!! This hotel claims to be 'holiday spa' but it acts more like a fitness center. You also have to pay to use the gym??? Last problem - 5th the security guards are very intimidating and are not very welcoming, even my grandma whose 72nd birthday during my stay at this place told me they were very unwelcoming!!!
Overall. Me and my family will not be returning back to this place, and I highly reccomend avoiding this hotel because I do not reccomend it to anyone. Yea the prices were cheap, but not were all the problems I had during my stay. Hope this review helps other users.

Unpleasant Experience
I find the In- Between Cafe and Bistro Resto of Holiday Spa experience unpleasant. The coffee is watery, the have no decaf coffee . I ordered milkfish for breakfast and they were oily and crushed , plates oily . I noticed that the staff are not well trained. Cebu prides in our Crispy fried fish , we were served with tiny fried danggit which was unacceptable .

The hotel has no business center. Housekeeping is attentive to our needs ( the best ) . A word of warning, the room wall is stained and showers had rust . The room had a foul odor it was reported .

I will not recommend this hotel.

This review is for the gym located in the hotel, not the hotel itself.

I tried several gyms in the Cebu City-Mandaue area and settled on this one for occasional day use. It is clean and has a variety of machines, as well as free weignts.

The day use price of 300 pesos is reasonable.

The gym has a pool and sauna, though I have not used these.

Before I share, I will note that not only have I never made a comment on tripadvisor or any other travel forum but my experience with this hotel is seriously the worst encounter I have had. PERIOD.

My partner have just been forced to leave this hotel after the way they treated us!

Customer service was the worst I have ever encountered & I have worked in hospitality for 10 years. There were at least 8 people working behind the desk and all were rude or had no idea what they were doing...just as the some of the other reviews say.

We went to our room and all was fine, we needed to use the wifi so we went to the desk to ask for the password, like you would anywhere else. We were informed that using the wifi in our room would be at an extra cost. We were puzzled by this, as well as the extra charges to use the rest of the facilities the hotel lists on their description.

I ended up getting very annoyed at the girl who said it was not in their policy to provide wifi under a listing. She spent 10 minutes trying to find the policy ON OUR COMPUTER non the less. Every single one of the unnecessary staff behind the desk were rude and just stood by. The didn't have anything to say for themselves or offer a solution for the added costs. After trying to reason with them (We were about to pay over 3000P for two nights) all we wanted was wifi included in our room. NO BIG DEAL & we are not confrontational people. We did not ask for anything else. Back and forth they went trying to find the hotel policy. We were so confused at what they were trying to prove. They failed to give us a reason why the hotel did not list the extra costs. We spent almost an hour trying to tell her how poorly we were being treated by the staff and we were getting nowhere. After all this time we were fed up. The customer service and handling of everything that comes along with working in an environment such as a hotel was unbelievably disgraceful. We said we were leaving and nobody did anything. We got our money back (3000P) & bailed right out of there. The final blow was when some guy who had stayed quiet the entire time decided to have his last say "Good luck finding anywhere for 1500P a night.." I couldn't believe it. I told him to have a look at the reviews of this hotel and that everyone of them should be ashamed of themselves as we have backpacked around the world and never encountered anything like this. HOW RUDE. We had been there around 2 hours dealing with these people and had to leave. Even after checking in. It was laughable.

PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE. It shames on the rest of the Philippines where you can get a beautiful room and service for half the cost. In fact we recommend you walk down the road to the hotel we are in now, Tune Hotel. Much nicer hotel & ONE receptionist behind the desk who did her job effectively, was very accommodating with only one room left & more importantly did it all with a great big smile...Would put every one of those workers to shame.

Final Words...To the guy from Holiday Spa who said "Good luck finding a hotel..."
We got one mate :)

1. Front desk staffs - no proper endorsement for their guests. Our guests paid for 3 people breakfast inclusive but turns out only 2 people had free and was told only 2 were paid! Can you guys look up you system before saying anything.
2. Found live cocroaches flying inside the room.
3. Linens and towels needs to be changed. The color turns into dirty white.
4. I understand that this company also doing business in their Gym. Some of their members and gym staffs has no manners as if they own the place. The loud and boastful voice in the lobby as if they are the only people around. And doing some hula hoops in front of the desk where guest can't do the transactions while these women have their thing. Do it in the gym girls!

Thank GOD I love their Housekeeping Staffs - the only descent staffs in the hotel! Keep up the good work but the rest SUCKS! I will not stay in your hotel again.

I enjoyed my stay here there was a great pool and the gym was excellent too although hotel guests are charged 150 pesos per day to use it
The service here especially at cafe acelo was diabolical and the Internet was also very slow and also an extra at 150 pesos per day
The rooms were big and spacious but the air con in mine sucked so much so I went out and bought my own fan

It was a pleasant little hotel with a pool adjoining the low-rise building about 100 meters from the busy road. The lobby is however very chaotic because the hotel is also the entrance to a busy gym with locals going in and out through the hotel lobby. It is like a busy airport check-in counter. At that time there were many staff members behind the counter, many of them do not know what to do. It was discomforting on my part carrying my heavy bags and talking with counter staff who remained seated in their comfortable chairs looking up at their customers instead of eye-level.
Rooms were nice and comfortable although the sound proofing is not too good; we heard our partying next door neighbor one night, and we hear shouts of kids and adults using the pool.
What was the final straw was during checkout when we were told they upgraded our room because our reserved room (lower category) was no longer available, AND they also upgraded our room charge. We asked to speak to the manager and she was said to be always out of the hotel, so for a price difference of 200 pesos per night, we thought it was not worth arguing and ruining our vacation. But it was a bad business practice that lingered in my mind to this day. Some decision making should be left to counter staff if the manager is always outside (or so the staff keeps saying). It left a bad taste in our mouths. We don't know if we were taken for a ride with that overcharging. In the end, what was a four-day reservation was cut down to only one day stay and we hurriedly packed our bags to move to another place.

After notifying the hotel that we'd be arriving at about 2am, there was a staff member waiting for us when we arrived. The room was clean, with a large king-sized bed. The bathroom was also clean. The staff wasn't really that helpful. I felt like maybe they didn't have many tourists who wanted to see Cebu City. There is nothing in the immediate area around the hotel, which means that you'd have to take meals in the hotel if you're hungry unless you want to go far. The service was painstakingly slow, but we experienced that in every place in Cebu/Bohol. The pool was open, and provided nice refreshment from the daytime heat.
