I was a victim of riding in tandem in Cebu City and my shoulder bag with valuables was snatched to me while hailing a cab along Escario Ave. cor Acacia St. last December 29, 2016 at 9PM. When I went back to the hotel to ask for help they are not as helpful. I could say that the staff lacks "sense of urgency." They even charged me with 250 pesos for the lost hotel keycard that was included in the shoulder bag that was stolen. I asked the hotel staff if I could talk to the manager and ask not to charge me since I have the police incident report and the fact that I was just a tourist and the money I have is not enough for me get to the airport. I explained to them that my ATM card was also included in the bag but they did not consider that, they still charged me. There should be a manager on duty 24hrs. Aside from that the hotel had noisy aircon, dirty and leaking restroom. Not safe to arrive especially during the night time since there is no security guard on duty at night only the receptionists. I will ever ever going to stay here again.

As early as first week of April for a one night stay on last week of May, we booked for 2 Deluxe room with breakfast and ask them if they could serve breakfast as early as 5am because we have a trip early in the morning the next day. They did said yes to us, so we booked the date (deluxe room). Last week of May comes before our said trip to Cebu, they told us that they can no longer serve breakfast as early as 5am and even told us that the room now is First come first serve basis and they are asking for a deposit even if last April they told me that no deposit is required. Then Hotel Stella and us agreed to just served the breakfast upon our arrival...so we agreed..The day our flight to Cebu I received a SMS that they can no longer again reserve the room because its first come first basis. What the ...#@$%. Its our flight to Cebu that they and the same day they are telling us that. Then we argued with them..good thing they find a way to reserve a room..

We arrive in Hotel Stella Cebu 9am in the morning and they served the breakfast (not a good breakfast, I advise travelers to just instead go out for breakfast) We were able to have an early check-in in one of our reserved room..But upon going on the 5th floor to see the deluxe room.. We found out that the room is a standard room (please note we paid for Deluxe room). The People there did not even tell us that the room will not be a deluxe room and even said that the room size is as same as the deluxe, my question how could it be the same if the space is smaller and the bed is not a twin bed? imagine the difference of the room and the price of the room. They wont bother to tell you...If your not smart enough they will just let it be...they are profiting in this kind of situation. I immediately got down to the reception and contest about the room. I raised my voice a little bit so that the other guest having their breakfast could know their kind of service and what they did to us. Suddenly because of a raised voice they did refunded the difference to us.

Take note the bad customer service here are as follows;

1. The breakfast that they told me that they can serve as early as 5am (the reason I booked to them because they told me they can serve breakfast on that time)

2. The cancellation (first come, first serve basis) that they told be 2 days before and hours before our scheduled flight to cebu. Giving me headaches before our flight (who wants have a headache on your flight day?)

3. The poor service that they gave us not telling us that the room is no longer a deluxe room even if we paid for the deluxe room. They did not automatically refunded the Money difference if I did not raised my voice in the reception area.

4. After they refunded they did not even apologize to us. they keep on reiterating that the standard and deluxe are the same size room (even it is obvious that its not).

Stayed here from Jan 15-20 for Sinulog Festival. Cleanliness is okay, the room is also okay, the food is ahmmm ok. Actually I didn't expect a lot. The only thing I hate is the service. The girls in the desk are hard to talk to. Jan 19 we asked for the complimentary breakfast through phone but the operations manager offered the breakfast with charge instead. The worst part is she did not informed that the breakfast she offered (american) is with charged. She also charged the Filipino breakfast (which I personally ate for days already without charge) and the two coffees. I went down to their desk to relay my concerns and she denied that she did not inform my friend that the american breakfast is with charge then removed the charge for the coffee and the filipino breakfast. Actually I don't believe her, I paid for her wrong charging and misinformation since its just PHP100.00 but the fact the she lied in front of my face... It is quite unacceptable to think that she's the "operations manager". Adrian the FO agent during night time is way way way way better than the girls in the morning and their manager is worst.. Lier.

Then upon check out they are charging us for a late check out where in fact we are booked until the 20th but we are checking out 7:30 of Jan 19. We are wondering why they charge us again. We clarified the payments we made and gave them the idea that the charge for our last night will not reflect in their system yet since the night audit process is not yet done. They manually compute and realized that we are fully paid already. The face again of Ms Mhel their manager is quite annoyed. I don't know if she was annoyed to the fact that we are complaining for their lapses or annoyed to the female agent who miscomputed our charges. Oh my... What a disaster..

Photos from the website should be changed because in reality its not what you will expect. The hotel is old and you can see dirt on every corner, the room stinks most especially the bathroom. Some of the electric plugs dont work and some of the lights inside the room doesnt work. Also my first time to stay in a hotel that needs to pay/rent their hair dryer per day. Overall I am so disappointed. I will never come back in this hotel.

We checked in June 1 & planned to stay until june 5... but the accommodation at this hotel was a Nightmare!. We booked the Superior Room, with the belief that it is a bit spacious than the other room types, ex. standard & De Luxe. The bed is king size , so OK, but the aisle beside the bed is too narrow when somebody sits at the side table, your room mate can not walk through, the bath room door is too small, a guest weighing 80 kls. and over must go inside the bathroom sideways, thanks we're of average sizes. The toilet bowl and lavatory is of mini or children sizes and watch when you brush your teeth, your forehead might hit the small counter above it, and the toilet bowl is located too close to the door so you have to walk sideways going to the shower area which is also too small. Breakfast are being served at the lobby area which is too close to the front desk so you can hear the the staff talking each other. The entrance of the hotel is fully parked with vehicles, so for people who are on wheelchairs, please HANDS OFF in this hotel, you cannot get inside to the hotel, if you have luggage or shopping bags in both hands you have to go sideways again.. to pass through, incredible! Please note, their pictures pablished in the website or internet Ads did not show the ground entrance to the hotel because it is being blocked always with parked vehicles. More on the comfort room... from Comfortable? when you sit at the toilet bowl your knee is more or less 4 inches from the wall, so be careful for long legged guest!!

I posted my comments in their Facebook wall, they argued that they are located in a nice area near to shopping malls (pls take note only Robinsons is close to them) and hospital which I found ok, but my comments is about their accommodations and convenience. very unfriendly to wheel chaired & old aged guest.. I wanted to reply or write back my comments at their Facebook wall, But they blocked already my name so I could no longer give my comments, so what kind of Customer Service they have? Why they will not entertain comments from customers/guest?

Hotel Stella is very new and they have a digital door lock , but their service is very poor, We transferred the next day to another hotel or pension house and we paid a bit higher than our room at Stella Hotel, but it's worth it because the service and convenience is more better although it is an old hotel, rooms & bath rooms are spacious.

This is the only hotel I stayed where they had to change the aircon unit while we were inside room. And they did it twice. Need i say more???

Ok, here is more ... bring your own aircon if you go there.

Price is atrociously high for the appalling service.

1.toilet bowl & sink are very small , looks like a potty trainer for a child.
2. I don't get the idea why don't they just provide a sign that you can hang in at your door if you need their staff to clean up your room, instead of their housekeeper knocking each other asking if you need houskeeping.
3. Rude staff! they just too excited to kick you out of their hotel when you are due for check out.
Check out time is 12NN, as early as 11AM we got calls every 5 minutes reminding us that check out time is 12NN. not even satisfied when we already informed them that we are on our way out.
4. A/C is noisy

We booked this hotel from Sept 13-15 during our stay in Cebu. We were looking for a cheap accommodation that is both near to the city and other near by establishments like fast food and convenience stores.

We had a late check in which they gladly took note of. I was glad hearing my name when we arrived at the reception. Its a new hotel, so its really clean. Though the place is a bit small. 12 sqm only for a superior room. The bed is huge so we didnt had any trouble with it since we we're a couple.

I do not recommend the superior room though to those couples with kids. Have a bigger room instead so your kids will have ample space to play on.

The aircon is working well, it gets cold early in the morning. One thing I did not like about this hotel is that they have really thin blankets. I suggest that the management can look into that. Atleast have another set of warmer on the blankets.

Negative point for the bed: The headboard of the bed, which is a foamy kind of wall, is squeaking. So everytime I try to watch tv with my head placed againsts the wall, I hear it squeak.

They provide clean rugs for the bathroom which is also a good thing about them. Well, this is for those people like me who always ask for a small towel and just lay it on the bathroom's floor so that I can step on it comfortably without slippers. They change it regularly as well along with the towels.

Toiletries is also okay for a budget hotel. They replenish the soap, tissue and shampoo everytime you ask them to make up the room, even if you still havent used them. Hot and cold shower was also working well. Though the water pressure is a bit slow.it can do.

Overall design of the room is A+ as well as the cleanliness.

For the free food, you have an option of upgrading the filipino breakfast choice by adding p11 to american breakfast. You get an additional egg. The food was not so special, but not bad for a budget hotel. By the way the serving is also very small, so if you are a heavy breakfast eater, get another set of breakfast to satisfy your hunger. They sell it very cheap, like below p100 only.

Service and staff were all very courteous and friendly.they even help me pack our pasalubongs. They will gladly help you with the information you need. Speak to them in english so they wont speak to you in their own dialect.
Another thing, our departure was around 11pm, so we have to leave our bags at the hotel after check out. They have this kind of service and they will just give you a number for your luggage.

The doorman can get you a cab easily, just ask them to do so.

They have wifi as well so you can still get a chance to check your emails. The room have some certain spots with wifi but the connection is already slow compared to the lobby.

The location of the place is also perfect. A few minutes walk, and you would reach the rotonda already. Crown regency was also one very short 5 min jeepney ride from the place. Ayala and sm can also be reached by one jeepney ride.

We will definitely stay in this hotel again! :)

clean and cozy place, room service was quick, room was tidy, bathroom is small but I didn’t mind. a bit creepy during the night time due to darkness. wifi was slow and was hard ro reach on the floor I was staying. 3rd floor. the hotel is just a walk to robinsons and the jeepney stops, few resto’s around the area too. there were some men from the other bldg fronting the hotel were a bit rude when I was looking out from my window for views. other than that it was worth the value of my money.
