The place is nice. Big spacious rooms, clean sheets and linen. Comfortable beds. Its really a very nice hostel. At 2am when i arrived on a Tuesday night, there was still music that can be heard in my room and noise from a group who were drinking from the roof deck across the room. I like the place, however, bathrooms were unclean and clogged because of hair at the shower area inside the dorm. I dont know if breakfast is available but when i asked if there was coffee, i was directed to the coffee shop at banilad town center. Staff were okay and was able to answer my questions but could have showed the willingness to help.
Staff was great, very engaging. Been here multiple times. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay with great accommodation and a chance to meet new friends, here's the place for you. Very scenic view as well with great rooms. I got to meet new faces as well as have fun with my friends. I am a local but this is the best hostel I've been to with the greatest hospitality from the staff. You will never get left out.
I go to Cebu every few months for work and I’ve stayed in a lot of different accomodations but I believe I’ve found place that I will keep going back to. I had my second stay there just a few weeks ago in the beginning of October. The place is still under minor construction, but that being said I was never inconvenienced in any way by the work. What makes this place great for me is the staff and management. The staff in my two stays has always been on top of their game with everything. When I walked in to check in on my second stay, that was 3 months after my first stay, the front desk clerk saw me walk in and welcomed me back and had remembered my name. Either he remembered or he was briefed by management that they had a returning guest. Either way it happened they made me feel like a valued customer. The conversations I’ve had with the manager and owner there have been nothing but enjoyable and they are always willing to help with anything I need. I have 5 years experience of working in top end hotels in the US and the guest services & attentiveness they have towards their guests at Flying Fish are on par with the hotels I worked in. They have surpassed my expectations with how they have gone above and beyond their normal duties as hotel staff. Besides the staff, the structure itself is an inviting space that I feel cozy in. The bar has draft beer which gets extra points in my book and the recently finished pool looks to be well done and a nice place to cool off. The only improvement on the rooms I’d like to see are cleaner floors. But I really can’t complain. I’ve stayed in much more expensive places with dirty floors. If you want clean feet just wear your slippers/shoes in your room. Besides that, everything else is 5 stars for me. Best value I’ve found in Cebu for price, location and staff. Highly recommended!…
My seven-year-old daughter and I have stayed twice in two different deluxe private rooms at Flying Fish, first in August 2019 and again in October 2019. During our first stay, the hostel was still under a bit of construction with lots of unfinished spaces (e.g. pool under construction, plywood walls with more of a construction site vs. up-cycled vibe). Happy to see that only a month later the hostel is more finished with the pool being complete, and now with furniture and added details that give the place more character. Both stays had comfortable beds, adequate bathroom facilities (although we still would really like somewhere to hang the bathroom towels - no towel racks anywhere). The shower head during the first stay had no holder and on our second stay, was quite blocked. Regardless of the aesthetics of the place, the staff at Flying Fish have consistently been fantastic. Location is great, particularly considering the cost of the rooms and it being in very centralized location in Banilad. Walking distance to many restaurants, groceries, and other desired locations. Grab service not hard to call, but rather than entering 'Flying Fish Hostel' as your destination, better to put the actual address '8 Adelfa', otherwise the car with take you to Banilad Town Center. Unfortunately our second stay was quite noisy with a loud group in the bar up late one night, also with loud music. During our first stay, we had a room a little farther away from reception and when returning will request that again. The walls in the room of the second stay did seem of lesser quality as we could hear pretty much all the ongoings of the guest in the next room (e.g. passing bodily functions and snoring). That being said, given the cost of the private rooms and the location, we would happily return to Flying Fish when back in Cebu.…
The hostel is located in cebu city so its near to everywhere. Once I arrived at the flying fish hostel, the vibe there is so relaxing during my check in I was taken care of Kyle he is so nice to me and he even helped me to order food online using his app thanks Kyle 😁 The room is perfect and relaxing I like the touch of vintage in it and most of the materials were recycled so its a plus for me since Im an eco warrior. There are still constructions ongoing like the pool its not ready for use when I get there but the internet connection is so fast and its really helpful since im doing a vacation/work trip so I give this hostel a rating of 9. Will be back for sure and Im gonna take a dip of the pool surely when I get back.
I love the ambience of the hostel it was eco friendly and refreshing, it was so cozy and it really feels like home. They just opened a month ago there are still minor constructions on going but the room is so lovely very clean and comfy. The staffs are nice also especially Kyle you should look for him he is a brilliant guy he knows the place inside and out whenever you want a place to look around or you want recommendations ask for Kyle he knows every tourist spots in cebu and he will always answer you with a smile on his face 😄 Location is good its in the center cebu so everything you need is just around the corner. Kudos to the team of The flying fish cebu. Will be back soon.
Apart from the cozy feel of the hostel and the comfortable bed and pillows, The Flying Fish Hostel (Cebu) has the coolest, kindest staff on earth. They will make you feel at home, always in all ways. Look for Ms. Jules.

beautiful aesthetics, combination of old and new. the staff are very friendly and accommodating. cool place to chill and have drinks. walking distance to malls and restaurants. rooms are very clean and comfortable. feels like home. thank you flying fish hostel cebu! will definitely comeback!
My partner and I have stayed at The Flying Fish Dumaguete and loved it so thought we would check out the brand new one in Cebu. We stayed for the weekend and it was delightful! The hostel itself is beautifully designed with so many cute nooks to chill or just enjoy a drink (and of course Gram those pics). I adore the amount of greenery around the place and also the feature of local art. The location is convenient as well, close to shops/bars/restaurants and even gyms if you're looking to stay relatively active on holiday. TFF #2 did not disappoint!
