Stayed at the hotel for 5 nights during a business trip.
It's located quite far from the city center, yet we found the location quite pleasing, and the view over the city is truly great.

+ rooms were spacious, modern interiors
+ free parking, friendly and helpful security and valet staff
+ good coffee at breakfast buffet, friendly breakfast buffet staff, reasonable choices of Filipino foods

- reception service is uninspired and not welcoming
- bathtub/shower installation is totally misconstructed
- western breakfast choices could be improved (no cheese, sausage for bread, no yoghurt)
- dedicated minus for the absence of fresh juices during breakfast, the offered processed orange juice tastes awful
- no a la carte dinner during events
- outside music can be loud at night during weekends

Another big minus is given for the dinner service, however based on an irritating experience, not a general quality concern:

Came home in the evening and decided to have dinner in the restaurant. Since there was an event, no a la carte meals were served. They offered us buffet instead for 1000 per head. Since we were already late the buffet wasn't rich anymore, but we were assured that everything would still be refilled, plus certain drinks were free. Turns out, that was a plain lie. We wasted 2000 pesos on few leftovers. Drinks were free, but limited to one per person. A second pineapple juice was subject to additional charge. Complaining about the missing refills, they prepared certain things (after long waiting time), but what use is there for a plate of teriyaki meat when you're out of rice. Just ridiculous.
Turned out that the event itself was priced with 1000 per head, they charged us the full price for ridiculous, low quality buffet leftovers even though the actual event was already over. Felt super irritated, taken advantage of, and misinformed. Never went for dinner there again.

All in all, the hotel is worth considering if you don't expect too much and are looking for a reasonably priced option.

Staycation has been a thing since the Millennial era. And of course, I've been a fan for this kind of travel vacation most especially if I'm exhausted at work or eagerly want to explore the features that the Hotel is offering. But last weekend, it was a memorable Rumah Highlands Hotel staycation for two reasons; Japanese Hospitality at its best and the hotel is located at the top of Cebu City's highland - breathtaking view is waiting!

Architectural this hotel is very good, it has a great lay-out and a pretty good location. But management is letting it run down quickly. Pool is very nice, but much debris floating in it. Request to clean it, was not honored. Showers in pool area are already damaged. Awning needs repair. Tiles are dirty.
Food:
Brochure states "serving only the healthiest options of natural, gluten-free meals that would surely make your taste buds satisfied". But: no wheat bread at breakfast, limp factory-made waffles, juice is orange-colored instant drink, not real juice. Tea is generic cheap Lipton. No cereals, no milk. Meat for breakfast is processed sausage or ham, not even real bacon. No vegetables at breakfast buffet, except "salad bar". Only two kinds of fresh fruit. AND THIS WAS CHRISTMAS DAY BREAKFAST!!
Christmas Dinner Buffet was disappointing too and not worth the 1200 pesos. Maybe there was a reason only five tables were occupied in the restaurant.
We could not order á la carte on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Buffet was identical.
Concierge had no suggestion for other restaurants in area, so we found La Maison Rose on our own.
Live music was very nice and was continued on roof top after Christmas dinner
Room cleanliness was excellent and the rooms are spacious and well equipped. Very good waiting staff when they are paying attention.
No newspaper available, despite several requests.
General idea of the place? Great design with attention for details, but current management is cutting corners with maintenance and quality of restaurant. And that is sad.

Me and my wife decided to celebrate our anniversary at this hotel for 2 nights We had a newborn and a 6 yr old with us. at 10:30 pm, we heard from our room housekeeping staff talking and laughing so loud at the hallway we tried to be patient thinking maybe theyd shut up. my.husband opened the door and tried to shushh, they couldnt be silenced. so we called the frontdesk so they could handle the situation. after 20 minutes they finally lowered down their voice but we could hear them ask each other who couldve called the frontdesk. fast forward to 6am they did it again, my newborn woke up to their very loud noise this time from the room next to ours. my wife was so pissed that she went out to go to the room nxt door and tell the housekeeping staff to lower down their voice as.they were disturbing their guests who are.trying to rest and there were alot of them, male and female. aside from this, I booked for a room with city view with 2 queen beds when I got there they told me no more available room with city view and with 2 queen beds, it was only available in the mountain view while it was stated clearly in the booking website what I booked for. so instead we got the city view with 1 king bed, we didnt fit ofcourse one has to sleep at the couch while we couldve had the room with 2 queen beds. mountain view was boring so I really wanted the city view but they couldn't deliver. one thing that I liked about this hotel is the bed and the pillows. Before booking in this hotel I suggest you email them or better yet call them to assure u of ur reservation.

I went to the Rumah Highlands Hotel to attend a business event. I took a taxi from the airport. This hotel either so new or so out of the way that the taxi driver didn't even know where it was.

From the airport it is an almost 1-hr drive because of city traffic.

The hotel is quite new, there's no mold in the shower! And the tiles, paint look clean and fresh.

Food is average. Breakfast buffet is adequate but if you are on a specific diet it might not be accommodated.

Staff are courteous and helpful.

The hotel is situated on top of the hills overlooking Cebu City. As such, it offers a relaxing skyline view of the busy urban jungle just below. The best views are from Lima, the hotel's restaurant, at the ninth floor, or from your room if you manage to get a city view room just like we did.

Our room was on the eighth floor, exqctly below the restaurant, so the view from our room was fantastic.

The Hotel staff are very accomodating and helpful.

I do have to say that the pool is too small for my liking, so I didn't bother to get in during my stay.

I am not quite satisfied with the restaurant and their food, not that it didn't taste good, but for their price, I expected more.

Their breakfast buffet though, was 'okay', since I came from a disappointing dinner the previous night.

The rooms are spacious enough, with a good finish.

I was disappointed that we were only given a single bathrobe and single pair of slippers, despite booking the room for two guests.

We requested the King size bed, which was really king sized, but was awfully squeaky.

The bathroom, however, was more than what I expected, and is probably the best part of the room. Plus they'll provide you with organic shampoos and hair conditioners.

Room service was very responsive and quick, props to them.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay there. It must be of botice though, that I booked a special rate from a third-party booking app. Personally, I don't think I would be as happy had i paid for the regular rates, since it is a bit pricey for that experience.

In conclusion, Rumah is a good hotel with excellent staff and personnel, and an even better view.

Building is really nice which would lead you to believe it’s a great place to stay but this is far from the truth. The room smelled of pure garlic or something rotten. The breakfast food was horrible and the fruit always had bugs on it. The staff when trying to get a cab try to add extra fees we’ve never experienced at any other hotel in the Philippines and we really felt like they were trying to take advantage that we were not local. We ordered a banana split and when they didn’t have cherries they put corn flakes on our ice cream instead without asking. Overall pretty building and not much else to offer.

The place is peaceful. It feels like a province near the city. Far from the chaos of the city though it is only a one ride away from it. The place is also clean and comfortable and spacious at the same time.
