We arrived in Cebu at 4 am and our next flight was at 7 pm. Needed a place to stay in while waiting for our flight. Checked with several hotels and all of them would not let us check in at 4 am and check out late in the afternoon. Looked through tripadvisor and found the page for this hotel. Gave them a call and they were so accommodating. We missed our flight and we called the hotel again. They let us stay the night even though we'd already checked out. There was already a cab waiting to take us to the airport when I returned the key to the receptionist. There's a buffet restaurant right next door too. I will never forget how great their service is and how helpful their employees are. Thanks again.

The West Gorordo Hotel is quite unique from the other hotels in Cebu City. It is a hotel with an advocacy - it promotes an eco-friendly environment, and you would see this being realized in the way the hotel maintains its facilities, as in the use of paper instead of plastic for garbage bins. It will also barrage you with so many inspirational quotes written on its walls. Food served is simple, not extravagant. The facilities are traditional and a bit old, definitely not modern or contemporary. I didn't see many people in the hotel and it feels like it is a family hotel and not a hotel for backpackers or the jet set, or for people who want to party. The location is very accessible, it is very close to the University of the Philippines and the Cebu Business Park. One other drawback is its seemingly over-protective security measures. Guests of hotel tenants can only stay in the lobby and cannot stay in the rooms. The entrance door to the elevator and stairs leading to the rooms is always locked, and your identity has to be checked first before the staff would unlock the door. Thus you would feel secluded in this hotel. But if you're the person who wants some quiet and separation from the outside world, this is the hotel for you. And the hotel rates are relatively lower compared to the other nearby hotels. Oh, and the staff gifted me a green advocacy t-shirt when I checked out. That gave me a smile.

I got wind of West Gorordo Hotel because of tripadvisor.com. I've gone through hundreds of choices and reviews for a place to stay when my friend and I went to Cebu City last February. Some of the reviews I read at the time were spot-on--it's a decent hotel sans amenities and frills--in a good way.

Aside from being one of the most affordable hotels in Cebu, West Gorordo has a very efficient and friendly staff that would be glad to assist you in your queries.

There is no swimming pool, coffee shop or a resto of its own--but it serves its guests well. (they have a floor where they serve plated, breakfast combos).

The hotel is near most establishments, like the Ayala Center Cebu. Across it, there are two coffee shops if you need to have your caffeine fix. There is a (purified) water dispenser at the hallway should you need to drink up. If you need a hair dryer, you can ask for it at the reception. Should you wish to ask for a Cebu city tour, the guys at the reception are more than willing to give you contacts and numbers.

Checking in at an early time was also not a problem for us--they easily accommodated us upon arrival (we were there at around 7am).

Overall, it was a very pleasant stay for us.

So if you're up to seeing Cebu especially if you're within a budget (and without being shortchanged), then West Gorordo Hotel is for you. It's simple, unassuming, and peaceful. Like the city itself.

The vibe of the WGH is soothing and calm. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Location is fantastic. The lobby area is a wonderful place to hang out and relax. Plenty of books and an extensive permaculture library!

We booked a room for the night for our in-laws and one of them forgot their passport. The hotel put us out on the street at 11pm. Disgusting service, hotel manager was a pig, will never attempt to stay in this rathole again. Go to anywhere else in Cebu that isn't psychotic. The front desk guy was definitely on something. Run away.

This is a no frills hotel, but one of the most forward-thinking hotels I have ever stayed at. I have stayed there twice and I am really impressed by the super friendly and helpful staff - nothing is too much trouble. It is within a short walk of Ayala and the main business area in the city. The hotel is also very impressive in its policy towards the environment, people and the future. The hotel doesn't use disposable plastics in anything it does from the naked soap to not using plastic straws and cutlery in the dining room. So much of the decor is made from recycled and reclaimed materials and really tastefully designed. The are actively against human trafficking and will refuse anyone involved, making it a great place for families. If you want to sleep soundly knowing that your stay is not adding to Cebu's many problems, this is the place to stay.

I absolutely loved my stay in this hotel! I was lucky enough that I was able to avail the promo of Travelbook so instead of paying the regular price which is Php935 for a Single Standard room , I only paid about 750. Although the hotel might look a bit dated, I really like the ambiance in this hotel because it is spic-and span and the inspirational sayings written on the walls of the room and hallways that will really make you smile. The hotel is well maintained and the housekeeping staff are very nice and approachable when you ask them to clean your room as well as the rest of the staff from receptionist, security guards to kitchen staff. They even have an elevator but you can just use the stairs as what is written on their walls that it's better for your health. :) Also, the wifi is really fast and you can access 24/7. The economy room is Php 850 but the only difference is that it has no windows and fridge. As for the location, it is very near Ayala, about 10-15 min walk from the hotel just take the road across the hotel beside KIA Motors. I was not able to try their restaurant because it's pricey, breakfast is 150 but there are some cheap places nearby like Shinangag Station and a buffet restaurant and if you have a tight budget then you can try a carinderia along the highway going to the right from the hotel. I've tried eating in a carinderia because the place looks clean and I forgot the name I think it's Kisses Carinderia (not sure). The only downside for me is that you can't bring heavy meals bought outside in your room and you can't bring any visitors to your room even for a short time. Anyways, you can still bring snacks and they have a cozy lobby. Overall, I will definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again if I ever visit Cebu again. :)

We turned up at West Gorordo around 5am after several flights from Cambodia. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us, and could not have been more courteous throughout the stay. We've been back there again, and plan to stay there once more before flying out of Cebu City! Can't say enough great things about this eco-friendly, well run, affordable abode!

I spent a few nights before and after spending a weekend to Alona Beach. I was traveling solo and the folks here were amazing. The ladies at the Front desk were so genuinely nice and they would go out of their way to help with directions and other things. The rooms were very spacious and they offered water on every floor,, something that I did not even get on th more pricey places I stayed in!
I am definitley staying again without a doubt, you can go anywhere from there.
