Detailed Reviews
Stayed for 3 nights en-route to Siquijor. The hotel is located in an area where foreigners must be on their guard from pickpockets and being accosted by young children and others asking for money, especially at night. However, there are few places to walk to other than a few fast food restaurants.
The hotel is not soundproofed and so you are woken by voices and TV from other rooms, raised voices along corridors and those waiting for the lift. However, external road noise is the worst as the road is used as a race track by youngsters on non-silenced motorbikes past midnight. Standard rooms are small.
The door staff are polite and welcoming. Housekeeping needs managing. After a long hot walk to the Basilica etc, we arrived back at 7pm to find our room not cleaned, so had to wait in reception. The next day, we arrived back at 3:30pm and room again not made up, whilst 5 housekeeping staff were chatting in a different room.
We booked on the basis of ‘Includes breakfast’ - big mistake as for foreigners it’s almost indelible which is good as the portion is small. One choice, decided by a surly waitress on the day. Rice, bread with sugar, a small slice of apple, 2 tablespoons of corned beef. Fruit juice had run out and coffee was from sachets with powdered milk. All foreign guests that we saw left the breakfast. There is a separate coffee barista in the foyer selling real coffee and muffins which is popular when guests forgo breakfast. A good marketing ploy!
Reception checks you in and checks you out and adds no value as they have no local knowledge from a tourist perspective. No maps, no advice. However, they are prompt in taking a P1,000 deposit for a plastic programmable room card.
We are seasoned travellers who don’t mind basic accommodation and will put up with most things. Ok for 1 night as you are close to the pier for Bohol & Siquijor, but don’t expect to sleep and eat breakfast.

Spent one night here before we left Cebu for home. Hotel dated, but the room was clean tidy and comfortable. The room we had was nearer the top of the building and had a balcony with a nice table and chair set - with views over toward Mango Ave & Robinsons Mall area. The Bathroom was large and modern. Found getting to the room interesting...up elevator then down a hallway, down stairs then along a corridor. Seemed odd looking the lay out, but i cannot complain about the service. Pleasant security and front room staff. We both felt safe staying there. Breakfast was under whelming.

My bro & i love the place especially our room. It is clean with free bottled water and coffee. Their staffs are nice, knows when to attend on your needs and they always smile. Nice place to stay, just a block away from the place i should go. Near from restaurants and fast foods and also few blocks away from Robinsons. With a safe parking lot for your vehicle.

I stayed in this hotel oringunally it was going to be for 7 weeks, but I only atayed 2 weeks .
As I was treated at times like a criminal by staff from the restrurant and also by a receptionist.
They were bad mannered ignorent and aloof .
After 3 occasions ,and the last occasion i had all on not to explode in anger , i cheacked out.
I payed for all my stay up front and they would not give me a refund for the time i did not stay there even though it was not my fault
. In 20 visits to Cebu this is by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed in and i definately would not recomend it to anyone

I go to Cebu every few years to visit in-laws & we always stay a few nights here. The rooms are adequate, clean, and really inexpensive. I've stayed in a few places downtown, and for the money, you can't beat this place. free breakfast, free underground parking, and the staff are really friendly & willing to carry all of your luggage etc.. And now they even have wireless internet at 100 Peso's her hour. (around $3.00 Canadian/USA).
It's at par with any North American days Inn or Red Roof.

only thing nice about this hotel is ?????
i could not complete my 5 days stay at this hotel, i had to move to a better and cleaner hotel, i had white socks on after i check in, 5 minutes later they were black, that's how dirty the rooms are!
i had the staff show me other rooms to grade to a better room but they all were the same! i will never stay at this hotel again!!!

My girlfriend and I used NS Royal Pension as as stopover hotel three times during our travels in the philippines. It was everything we required for such a purpose.
The location is great, just around the corner from lost of restaurants and shopping centres. The rooms are clean and comfortable and are very quiet at nighttimes. The service was always great, reception staff and bellboy were very helpful.
Wifi is available at a cost, 150pesos for 24hrs and its a fast connection.
There is a limited breakfast menu thats included in the price. First time I ever ate fried beef at 6am but it was great!
All in all a great place to stay and good value too.
The only issue I had was that on the second time we stayed the room we had was 400pesos cheaper and exactly the same as before. On our third trip we asked fo the same room but it wasn't available so had to pay the higher rate.

We stayed here for three nights and after the third asked to move. We were originally in a Room at the back of the building, just above the kitchen. At 7am when breakfast starts they start up their extractor fans (very loud!) and all you hear is bashing of pots and pans. After a long flight the night before we weren’t happy.
I recorded the noise and took the video to reception and asked to be moved. Even they were shocked by the awful sound! We were told to come back at 1pm to move.
As we were out for the day, we came back at 6pm and they said our room STILL wasn’t ready. This was becoming very frustrating.
The breakfast is Okay, although they had no bacon when we were there so could only chose from ham. The waitresses don’t really communicate either with modifications to orders.
Taxi to and from airport should cost around 200-300p depending on traffic! Grab is a great way to travel around the city however as it is very busy, order earlier!
