Most of the hotels in Davao claim a half day rate and some 1 day rate once you checked in early, as early as 4:00 am provided you have to checked out at their required time (either 12noon, 1pm or 2pm). When I inquire in Bahay ni Tuding, I'm so glad they don't have this policy, you can checked-in as early as 4am and checked-out at 2pm on the next day with no additional cost on their daily rate. We only booked for 1 day in deluxe room. The location is very very good, it is not totally situated at the front of the highway, so we cannot hear the noises of the busy streets outside. It is located near fast foods, drugstores, parks, restaus, church and walking distance to some malls. For the hotel interiors, it has a very Filipino style designs and our room is so clean. We totally loved the place. And also, rates are very affordable

If you want an inexpensive place to stay in the centre of Davao City then this recently opened family and tourist inn with a dozen or so rooms must be a consideration. It is set back from the busy San Pedro Street, is close to the Cathedral and City Hall and along the street from the impersonal and yet popular My Hotel. The service here is excellent - nothing is too much trouble whether it is advice, the loan of an adaptor or a special request for breakfast. The de luxe rooms with aircon, hot water shower, cable TV and wifi are worth the extra 100 piso. Breakfast is not included but was delicious and inexpensive. The wifi was weak in the room but great downstairs..

Imagine taking a bath early in the morning. Imagine that you're in a hurry for an appointment. Imagine what happens when the water disappears when its time to rinse off the soap!
Had no choice but to stop taking a bath and instead dry off with the towel. Worse, when I informed the receptionist what happened, she couldn't even give a proper reply. Had to return much later and take a proper shower before checking out. What's even worse is that even at check out, no one even bothered to apologize for such bad service. And dont get me started on the cheap thin foam bed. Didnt get much sleep on that thing.
Wasn't happy with the complimentary breakfast too, so had to order a full meal. And they charged me as much as some 3 star hotels do, when this hotel doesn't come near any 3 stars that I know.
I have slept in places that are much cheaper and yet offer better service and amenities. Ain't returning to this hotel that's for sure.

Stayed here from April 08, 2015 to April 11, 2015 (4 Days & 3 Nights) Purpose? Family Vacation in Davao City!
You'll immediately fall in love with this inn's homey ambiance and have that sweet escape feel from the energetic vibe of Davao.
-PEOPLE & SERVICE- The people, from Kuya Guard to the other employees, especially Chris (hopefully my spelling is correct) and Tita (granddaughter of "Tuding"), will gladly assist you in all your inquiries. You can also ask them on "where-to-go-to" or "what-to-do". It's a great help in planning your day-to-day activities.
-LOCATION- ACCESSIBLE & WONDERFUL. In my own opinion, everything is a walk away. There are convenience stores, pharmacies, local restaurants, fast-food chains, bakery, local grocery store, etc., basically establishments that will help you survive and live comfortably. The inn is also very near Davao City Hall. FYI, SAFETY & SECURITY are serious matters in Davao City (go on and ask Mr. Mayor himself!^^). That's why it's quite nice to not be fidgety while walking around or using your smartphone (i.e. utilizing google maps, etc.). But just to be sure, always be alert and cautious. If you don't mind walking and exploring the nearby streets, then you can reach Museo Dabawenyo, D'Bone Collector Museum, and People's Park easily.
-INTERIOR & EXTERIOR- LOVELY and HOMEY. It's hard to find such a place in the city with such homey and sincere ambiance for a reasonable price. I mean, the moment you ascend the concrete stairs to entering their receiving area you will immediately find the place lovely and peaceful. It's like you're not staying in the city. They also have these lovely balconies (located at the 2nd and 3rd floor) where you can sit or maybe sip a cup of coffee or enjoy their famous yogurt, yum! and just let it all sink in. I also find the somewhat DIY chandelier hanging from the 3rd floor cool!
-OUR ROOM: FAMILY EAST- Their biggest room! I just loved it. It has one queen size (or king size?) bed and two standard size bed. We asked to add an additional bed since we were 5 all in all. This room can accommodate maybe up to 6 people. It has a flat-screen TV, microwave oven, small fridge, and utensils which you can use at your comfort. I am quite particular and picky when it comes to the bathrooms. Good thing is that it meets my expectations. Bathroom size is great (you can move around comfortably), hot and cold shower is working nicely (easy to toggle with), mirror sizes are good, and space for our toiletries are quite nice. They also have a place for your luggage and shoes as well. Air conditioning is also working perfectly. The woody and shelly interior design of the room emphasizes that homey feel.
-FOOD, DINING, ETC.- May I please have more of their homemade YOGURT??? Please? They have a continental breakfast (consisting primarily of breads). For yogurt lovers, you'll definitely wouldn't want to miss out on their homemade yogurt. The flavor is balanced and kept simple, not too sour with just the right kick of sweetness. I also recommend their homemade jams; "guyabano-pandan jam" and "ginger-papaya jam". I personally loved the "ginger-papaya jam" for its distinct energetic taste. I saw one of the foreign guest use the jams as a topping for the yogurt. Haven't tried it personally, but based on his reaction, he liked it.
OVERALL Drumroll, please! 4.5/5 !!! They could improve on their breakfast selections, maybe widen the food options. Though, seriously, we loved our stay at this place. The fact that we had a homey and nice place to recharge, rest, prepare, and kick-start the day, plus the warm, helpful, and kind staff at the inn, are more than enough to give them a two-thumbs up.
THE FUTURE We'd definitely stay here again when we visit Davao. I'd definitely recommend this Inn to my other relatives and friends. This place will surely be in my list when staying in Davao City.
Thanks Bahay ni Tuding! ^^

We stayed at Bahay ni Tuding Inn just for one night. We decided to move into a different hotel the next day because everything you ask for has charges. If you ask for a cup of water, you pay. Plus service charges which I think should be part of what we pay for the room. But location wise, its very convenient place to stay. Near drugstore, food chains, malls, etc. Despite being in the heart of the city, its a quiet place to stay. just very small rooms.

If you're on a budget and needed a clean and safe place to stay this is for you.
Ideal for people who want to see explore the "old" Davao. Walking distance from San Pedro Cathedral.
Linens are thin though and the room I was in was a bit crampy and there was no electrical outlet near my bed to conveniently charge my phone.

The hotel is a home, fun by the heirs of Tuding. The lunch served is gourmet. Chef made a fish curry with aromatic spices. Highlight of the tour is the Mel's Davao Food Tour, a culinary experience, visiting the market, the fruit stands. Mel Pangan does a great job of explaining history, as well as the culture of the place. The staff is helpful and courteous, and makes you feel not like a guest, but like a family. When I bought some Durian fruits, they even accomodated it in their refrigerator, to help prevent my room from smelling like the "king of fruits".Rooms are very clean, and the price is very reasonable. The visit was part of a reality show that features the sights of Davao now, compared to before. The city was considered the Safest City in the country esp. Mindanao due to the political will of the mayor, Mayor Duterte. Crime is low, and the city is like Singapore, smoke free. (Smokers can smoke on designated areas only)

Hi. From the Ecoland Bus Terminal, ride jeep with the sign Magallanes and ask to be dropped-off at Claveria St. corner San Pedro St. Take a 15 mins. walk in the direction of Jollibee fronting Mercury Drug. There's a driveway beside Mercury. Take the driveway and you'll reach Bahay ni Tuding on your left side. Bahay ni Tuding is not visible from San Pedro St. We took a taxi from the airport and the driver was not familiar with the inn. I used google maps to direct the driver where the place is. Rate is around 1500 to 1800 depending on the room type. Better inquire with them first on the availablity of the rooms.
There are more places to choose from in the Davao City area.
