Stayed here to close to a week last August 2015. Opted for this hotel via the reservation made by the office as my trip was work-related. This hotel is in the main thoroughfare in the city. It's like 5-10 minutes away to victoria mall and abreeza mall. The uptown area is around 15 mins away as well.

Anyway, i say basic needs met due to the following reasons:
1) the airconditioning was cold
2) there is hot and cold water in the shower
3) the towels were white and looks new.
4) the bed is comfy enough.
5) it's a halal hotel so for muslim travellers, this is a plus.

The package included free breakfast which nowadays is almost always part of the package. But don't expect much about the options. We only ate breakie on our 1st morning and the options were just - meatloaf with egg or chicken sausage with egg. it's plated and to my standards, i will have to say, below what is acceptable. considering that food and meals are quite cheap in davao, having a very limited offer for breakfast is not acceptable to me.

i requested for additional pillows and they said 2nd pillow is compli but more than that, they charge P25 per for the entire stay. it's worth getting cause i have bad back and so i got another 4 pillows. the wifi is fluctuating the entire time and to get into their wifi system, you need to get password from reception every single day. they give it in small small pieces of paper which you can easily lose. good i have my hotspot which proves to be my lifesaver (thanks, smartbro!).

my last comment... there was no hairdryer in the room and i thought some hotels you need to request from housekeeping as they want to keep track of their units. when we called on housekeeping, they said they will get back to and find unit. they didn't get back to me. the following morning and on my way out, i ask reception and they said there's only "1 unit" of hairdryer in the whole hotel and a guest was still using it. they can reserve it for me and send it to my room with a usage fee of P100 per hour. yup, you read it right per hour! OMG!!!

so... it's not really a fantabulous stay here but if only because of its location, aircon and hot/cold shower, i'd say it qualifies as an option.

I greatly recommend the hotel for my muslim brothers and sisters... Hotel rate is very affordable. The staff are accommodating. And I no longer have to worry when it comes to eating.... Definitely halal. Though i would appreciate if breakfast is buffet type.
Also, I love the massage. Its located just around the reception area.

This is not our first visit to Davao City for work so we decided to find a new place. And we found "one", exactly what we needed and we are very satisfied on our stay. The staff was very attentive and genuinely helpful. Their efforts should not go unnoticed, especially Ms. April Mae. The management have put a great team that makes customers respected and valued. Surely will continue to stay at this hotel on our next visits.

The first and 100% HALAL HOTEL in Davao City located in the heart of the city, 3-5 minutes walk to Victoria Plaza Mall, 5-7 minutes ride to Gaisano Mall, and 5-10 minutes to Abreeza Ayala Mall.

I always stay here whenever I'm in Davao because this is the best hotel for me. The location is perfect, affordable and the staff are friendly and accommodating.

FOOD/RESTAURANT:
Walking distance to Jollibee and Mcdonalds (24 hours open). There are also "carenderia" in nearby place like Obrero area.

*Free Breakfast (buffet) for the guest and they will charge you Php250 per person for the walk in.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE for anyone who are going to stay for a business, pleasure, with family, couple or solo backpackers.

The only halal hotel in Davao.

Standard rooms are small and smells musty. The shower is also very basic and smells mouldy as well.

No views at all. You'll be facing a wall and upon looking down is a creepy alley.

No appliances allowed in the rooms including clothes iron, percolators as well as hair dryers.

staffs are quite friendly but sometimes are not fluent in english.

Mornings can be noisy when the employees next door clock in for work.

Spas are very cheap nearby.

Me and my friends booked El Bajada mainly because of it's close proximity to the city centre and malls. We expect a little from this hotel because of it's cheap price but to our surprise the room is spacious and have comfy beds.Though the hotel free breakfast has limited option it's satisfying enough to get you going a day of fun filled activities.

One more thing, I have to commend the staff because all of them are very accommodating and nice.

My stay in room 403 (de lux twin) was good. Room is very spacious with high sealing and big windows with a view. And because not facing the main road is quiet to. Your choice should be to stay on the 3th better 4th floor because you will have a view.
Ask to see your room before check in. Some rooms offer only a Berlin wall view.
Staff is friendly but don't ask them if W-Fi is working. It is not working.
The hotel specialist spend more time on my new lap top to make some changes... then myself.
In 5 days he could manage to make it happen for me to enjoy 3 max 4 hours very poor and extremely slow internet . Other hotel guests shared my problems.
Even in the reception the Wi-Fi signal was almost non exist.
The American Breakfast is so small that a bird would be happy but a cat will walk hungry away.
Also it takes so so long to prepare the little the American style breakfast.
You are better of with the local breakfast (it takes only 2 min to serve it) because it and will make you less hungry.
The hotel is safe, location is very good, rooms are spacious, staff is friendly.
If you are not depended on Internet and do not need a good breakfast this hotel is your choice.

Poor customer service especially those who assigned in the front desk. They should have a pleasant appearances and attitude. Unfortunately, they're not practicing that. Only the waiters and bellboy were very accommodating to our guests.

Elevator and comfort rooms smelt bad. For greater accommodations, please attend training related to customer service. Just a piece of advice.

I like the room, w/ very large spaces & bright enough to do my work even inside the room. We asked for additional tables and chairs and they gave it immediately. We felt warm in the room and they provided an option to immediately transfer to a better room. The service is quite good. Rooms are very clean. Good enough for me.

Improvements needed: We had the corner room and the aircon is not cool enough. Needs some fixing. Also, the hanger or hook for clothes in the comfort room was broken. My bed is moving. Maybe because the floor is very smooth. Maintenance should check it for fixing. But all these are minor issues.
