We went to Dayang to celebrate our friend's birthday. We are a group of 14 early twenties squad. Our friend reserved a Duplex cottage before hand and contacted the resort to have us picked up in the Sta. Ana wharf to directly arrive at Dayang Resort for Php150 each, one way fare. If not, you can ride a boat going to Isla Reta instead for Php 85 and ride single motorcycle from there going to Dayang resort for Php100. But the latter is a hassle option.
At around 10am, we departed Sta. Ana wharf. The whole ride took 1hr. Upon arriving, a very accommodating guy entertained us. The place is so solemn. We were ushered into our reserved 2-room duplex cottage which is good for 15pax, Php1800. There are closed and open cottages. If you are in a day tour, you will have to pay 100/pax and you can have any of the open cottages. The closed cottages' price range is around Php600-2500. It comes with a bed, pillows and a ceiling fan. Not grand but it should at least have a clean floor. However, upon entering the room, there's so much sand, not well cleaned enough. And tho it's fronting the sea, the place seemed to have a humid, uncomfortable atmosphere. The toilet and shower rooms are just behind our cottage and there is a grilling area near it as well.
If you are planning to go there, it would be wise for you to bring everything beforehand. The price of everything in the resort are 300% higher than the original price. It's understandable how it should have higher price but not this kind of overprice: a lucky me noodle pack for Php25, panty liner for Php20. We actually opted to buy other stuffs in the resort just beside Dayang. The price gap is huge, a whole lot cheaper.
And be warned, the place do not offer a clean water to wash up after dipping into the sea. They have big barrels of water but the water is from the sea, so it's useless. The clean water from deep well that they have costs Php20 per gallon. They also have distilled water jugs (5gal) for Php100. You can rent cooking pots there for Php50.
In the evening, as we were celebrating, we were laughing and loud, the happy kind of loud, as we are the only guests in the area. At around 10PM, the lady owner scolded us for being loud. Yes, scolded. Her approach was rude. She doesn't really have an accommodating aura.
In our entire stay, only one staff was good enough. Still, we stayed for two nights because of the beach and we wanted to prolong the celebration. But we weren't really impressed with the other stuffs. And take note that around 4AM, there will be an electricity blackout and would be back at around 9AM. So, be sure to bring flashlights with you.
Two stars for the beach.
Will probably not go back anymore.

We all know that Island Garden City of Samal has many beautiful beaches to discover. One is Dayang Beach Resort, located in Dadatan, Talikud Island.. We decided to explore this place since it's not too crowded on a weekend unlike other beaches in Samal wherein you'll be having a hard time to take a reservation due to fully-booked rooms. But here in Dayang Beach Resort, there's a big space for our little tent and more rooms are available at a very reasonable price. No internet connection so you'll have more time to spend chatting and catching up with your friends and families. This is the perfect place to just relax and feel the breeze. How to get there? From Davao City, just ride a jeepney going to Sta. Ana Wharf, then from the Ticket Entrance, a lady will ask your destination just say to Dayang Beach. There's a boat exclusively for Dayang Beach goers that costs P150.00 one way only. Boat schedule is from 8:00 am and 12nn. If in case you missed the ferry, the last trip for Sta. Cruz Wharf is at 3pm.From Sta. Cruz Wharf, take the habal-habal ride and tell the driver to Dayang Beach, fare is P70.00 but the driver only asked for a P60.00 fare, two persons can accommodate the habal-habal. It's a 2 hours ride so brace yourself for some bumpin' and glidin'. Be a light backpacker person coz it's hard to take the motor ride having many loads in your hands. Charge up your gadgets coz the electricity there will be lost at 4am, you can charge your gadgets to their little store for free...

We chose to stay in Dayang in our first time trip to Talikud. The road was extremely bumpy going to the place but we didn't mind imagining that the bumpy ride was worth it when we get to the place. Well, to my surprise, it was not. The building was just a kind of a poor hut, broken doorknob, dusty and rusted fan and dirty small bedsheet and blanket and dwarf pillows with hard things inside. The bed was not nice. We had to give 50 pesos deposit for the broken doorknob in exchange for a rusted padlock. The Adobo food we had at dinner was very tasteless, it needed spices. We ordered 1 whole chicken for over 300 pesos and we were given only a bony adobo that might had been a chick. We ordered a kilo of rice cooked for us and we got only less than half. When we left the place the next morning, one of the staff charged us more without returning the change. We just let it go.
What surprised me was the toilet that was far from our hut. There was no shower except for a faucet where you had to use a rubber bucket to catch water and broken pitcher to fetch water for shower. Soap won't work because the water was simply seawater. The toilet had no light so I had to be vigilant around the tiny dirty toilet in feared I might see spiders, scorpions and snake. Anyway, if you need a less salty water, Dayang will sell you 1 container of water for 15 pesos.
The beach was great though because of white sand. But you can find a lot of debris and driftwood along the seashore. The beach has really potential to become a classy one. But staff didn't know hot to clean and maintain it. The owner should know it and maintain the place by himself.
If you want to experience a life like less civilized for a while, hop on to Dayang's hut.

We decided to spend a couple of days on Talikud, but were unsure where on the island to stay. We met someone on the boat who advised us that Dayang had a nice beach & it was close to one of the boat drop off points. The cottage we stayed in was small & rustic, but right on the beach. We had a spectacular outlook to Mt Apo when it was not covered in cloud. The owner was very friendly & helpful as were all the staff at the resort. We were advised what food was available each day & it was tasty, not too expensive, & cooked fresh for us. There is a spectacular dive site nearby called coral garden where we snorkelled. I'd recommend Dayang for a few days if you enjoy the natural environment & getting away to swim, snorkel, read & just relax.

The resort is very dirty with debris and garbage every now and then. They cannot provide a clean restroom and the receptionist is always irritated. I won't come back here as they have just wasted my time and money. I spent 800 for a closed cottage but they would cut off the electricity in the morning. The foods they are selling are not in its reasonable price. The area is really dirty with bugs and cockroaches flying everywhere. They do not serve clean water as well so you have to wash using salt water. The beach on the other hand is not that clean and I did not enjoy every minute I stayed there so what I did was I sleep all day inside our cottage. Big thumbs down for Dayang Beach Resort.

we been there last april 7 for an overnight stay ( but we want to stay for more). the place is good and the beach is really nice. Maybe the way going to dayang is notyet good as like in Isla Rieta (Thanks God were not going thier to stay...so terrible), I met the owner of this place and she was good and she has a lot of plans for this place. Its take more to develop the place but its really really nice, they can serve the food as fresh cook. you can relax and take more time to rest..i plan to go back again soon.

You'll be amazed by the beauty of the beach once you get there. However, staff, particularly the owner, is not accommodating and not friendly. Be careful on using the water that comes in the faucet, it's sea water, you'll have a hard time washing yourself. There room is dirty and no air con.

The beach is very wonderful and most tourist boats dock next beach over. The staff is wonderful and please. Resteraunt is currently being built and will be an excellent add on.Our hut was small but comfortable with fan. There is no plug ins for phones in hut but you can charge in the store.See some people find this an issue but you only need for pictures..your on holiday. My phone lasted the 2 days I was there..On arrival to beach there was debris floating in current well off shore but only because of the week of rain that happen before we arrived..Don't miss out on this beach..good swimming..sea life and relaxing..

Yes. Food at the restaurant ranges from 120 upwards.
Room for 2 person, how much?and
Private-hired boats directly take passengers to the resort.
If you come via ferry from Davao or Kaputian, hire a tricycle for about 60-70 per person.
