The room is spacious and comfortable. However, there are no tables/desks that would allow guests to work. My room doesn't have a window.

The bathroom is spacious and clean with hot-and-cold shower.

Foodservice offers limited choices of meals and drinks.

I stayed here when we went to Davao. The rooms are clean, has own private toilet and bath. What I dont like with the room is that you can hear the sounds of hammering on top of our room. The sink in the toilet in the twin bedroom is not working properly.
The room costs really cheap.

This is in the 5th-7th floor of FTC Tower in Mt. Apo street davao. There is a store outside where you can eat and have some coffee. There are trycicles that pass by. You can take a tryc if you want to got to Lachi's (famous for sansrival cake) and Tiny Kitchen (the best caldereta espanol in town and sansrival and other spanish food)

You must eat there when you go to Davao.

If you want to go to Abreeza Mall, you can take a cab from there and also if you want to go to Samal Island.

The people are nice and this is the cleanest city I ever seen in the Philippines.

Though it wasn't my first time to stay with Green Windows, but I always got that same feeling of satisfaction whenever I came back and leave the place. As a frequent traveler, I make it a point to look for a place where I could find a good and nice stay coupled with a reasonable price for its accommodation. Indeed, my budget REALLY WORKS throughout my stay!!! Spending was not an issue by then.
I stayed for almost a week, but there's is nothing to worry since affordability within the Green Windows is observed from the food, laundry and even with their souvenir items. So far, I was treated nicely by the staff, they even extend their assistance with me to my urgent concern that time. Considering that the place is still new, I have observed its cleanliness too. For sure, i'll be coming back!!

Our expectations were neutral when we made this booking, with basic cleanliness and what was listed as standard and included being our only expectations. Upon arrival, the gent at reception was nice enough, and ran through our inclusions, outlining breakfast was included and available on level 5, the same level as reception. I did, however, have to ask about access to wi-fi, which turns out, was included, and required reception to provide passwords etc.

Getting into our rooms, we were greeted with an overwhelming stench, emanating from the bathroom. The smell was ripe, and reeked of open drain stench, from both sink and shower drains. Dad went on to explain that a lot of places in the Philippines didn't have pipes with proper "S" bends, and so smells could sometimes make their way back up... Shrug. Don't know enough about plumbing to comment, so will leave it at that. It was then that we noticed that "Green Windows Dormitel", didn't really have any "windows" - those in the bathroom, opened onto a wall, and didn't afford any natural light or air.

The bathroom felt unclean. As though its surfaces hadn't been bleached in a good long while. The sink's tap would swivel when turning the water on/off. The grout had grime in the shower. There was visible mould. It was gross.

In the room, the lights were dim - perhaps in an attempt to further conceal the dust? There was plenty of it. Following the perimeter of the room, it was clear to see. Pillows smelled of musty BO. "Rollaway" bed, was simply a foam mattress that barely cleared the dusty floor. Needless to say, we slept 3 to the bed - the lesser of two evils. This was the better decision, especially after having sighted a cockroach the following morning.

Breakfast the next day provided the nail in the coffin. Upon attending the cafeteria, I was informed that though we had booked x2 rooms, one for 2 pax, the other for 3 pax, only 4 pax were allowed for breakfast. I asked to speak to someone about this, and ended up speaking with a lady at reception. After "checking with the supervisor", she advised that Expedia had sent through incorrect information, and that inclusive were only x2 meals per room. I asked how that made sense, given extra payment had been made for the 3rd person to stay in one of the rooms, to which I received the response of "Ma'am, this only includes the bed. If you want breakfast for the 3rd person in the room, you can just pay PHP150". I went on to ask why this was not explicitly explained, even when we checked in, where the gent had invited us to partake in the included breakfast. She acknowledged my point, but stuck to the fact that it was policy. I remained calm, though frustrated, and let her know that it's ridiculous that an extra person is given a bed, but not to be fed.

Needless to say, even after showing her my booking confirmation, which stated "Full breakfast", and without any fine print, she refused to acknowledge that in the interest of customer satisfaction, it would be best to provide the breakfast service to our extra person. I left disgusted.

Whatever went wrong between Expedia and Green Windows should be between them. When a customer is in front of you, here and now, with a booking confirmation to your establishment that states something is included, you honour it, and take it up with your partner BEHIND THE SCENES. The customer should not be made to feel their expectations are unreasonable, when the confirmation backs up what they are saying.

Green Windows had an opportunity to surprise and delight us with their customer service, however they chose to forfeit the chance.

The only great thing about this place was its location. The fact that we had to find room spray, insect spray (should've bought bleach as well!!) and deal with ridiculous policies they need to fine tune? We're in no hurry to sing its praises. Stay elsewhere.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to those travelers who are in a tight budget but are seeking the comforts from their own home. The hotel accommodation, staff and services are excellent. The rooms, cozy yet modern. The hotel is located at the heart of the city. There is a nearby (and when I say nearby it means walking distance) mall, hospital, restaurants, fast food chains, convenience stores and even churches. Try to check out this hotel most especially at these times of the month when Araw ng Dabaw is fast approaching. They offer great deals and discounts. Plus, you get to witness and celebrate the city festivity just near your hotel. Have fun! :)

Just came back from a vacation in Davao.
Did not have enough time to plan before I left and booked for the accommodation a day before our scheduled arrival.

Fortunately, "cramming" worked well for me this time.

Located on the higher floors of a commercial building, Green WIndows gave us a CHEAP yet CLEAN, STYLISH and MODERN "place to stay".

The rooms were new and it's got all you need for a restful sleep and MORE.
TV was flat and big (just as you wanted them to be).

Beds were firm yet soft, bathrooms were okay.

Aircon was functioning very well too!

Add to that, their WIFI were even faster than the one I have at home! And may I just add, IT WAS FOR FREE!

I have stayed in a hundred or so establishment but this is the only time that I got to experience such fast connectivity.

Will stay here again without batting an eyelash!

From making a reservation online to the day we checked-in, everything was a breeze. They promptly respond to every email inquiry I sent. FTC tower (where Green Windows Dormitel located) is quite new. It is within the business district with close proximity to shopping and restaurants. We booked 2 dorm type rooms good for 6 persons. We only paid like 350php per person a night. It is spacious with enough lockers where you can store your baggage. Restroom and shower area are clean and quite spacious also. Air conditioning unit is working well. They have a pantry where you can have your meals for a minimal price. They even sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts. So if you're on a budget and looking for a decent place to stay in Davao this is the place to be.

Pros:
1. Very affordable - for every tourist who just wants a quaint place to stay for the night or few days, it's an ideal place.
2. Delicious varieties of food that showcases the what Davao is all about
3. Courteous staff (I'll get into that later)
4. Clean - I always check the nooks and crannies of the room to make sure that it was thoroughly clean, especially the bathroom.

Cons:
I can't even begin to express my disappointment on the service that they provided with their guests, coming from someone who also works in the hospitality industry (front desk and guest relations, in particular). I was not really expecting anything. No, I wasn't too hard or even expecting a five-star treatment, just courtesy and diplomacy.Yes, they are courteous and approachable but my main concern are as follows:

1. Upon checking in, I already paid in full with our stay which was 4 days in total including the breakfast, which was not already inclusive in the room rates and also the airport pickup, so it won't be any hassle for me when we check out. I was aware that the standard check-in time is always at 2:00 pm. We arrived there early, so when I approached the front desk, they informed me that they were still preparing the room, so we all waited. After about an hour and a half, I asked again, and the front desk said the same thing. So I inquired how long will it take because it was already 3:30 pm and why would it take that long to prepare the rooms (we booked about a month or 2 months earlier) I figured it was not yet clean, however, I know that it will not take an hour and a half to clean a room.
2. We stayed there for 4 days, requested for an airport pickup, so on day 2, I suddenly received a text from the front desk informing me that we still have a balance that needed to be settled immediately. When I got there, they told me that I have an excess 2 hours of charge for the airport pickup and that I must settle it immediately. I told them to explain why would there be an excess hour to be paid when I already paid in full, and that why I was not informed beforehand (upon inquiring, upon checking in or by anyone about the extra charges). It took them 2 days to inform me about the extra charges? I just could not understand that.
3. Breakfast - the food was really delicious and I was thoroughly satisfied what Davao has to offer. However, the endorsement between the restaurant and the hotel was poor. After eating breakfast, they informed us to settle the payment for the breakfast, and I already informed them that I was already paid in full including the breakfast for 4 days, then they told me that our rooms were not even listed on the rooms that are already checked in. That was the next day after checking-in. Again, that confused me.
4. Housekeeping - I put a "clean room" sign before leaving the room and going to explore Davao City for the day, when I got back, the room was still messy and so, when I asked the front desk about it, they said that they didn't see a sign on the door and maybe I put the "do-not-disturb" sign instead. I was thoroughly disappointed by that remark. A trained receptionist must always be diplomatic and tactful. That's one of the basic trainings that I learned when I was working at the reception at a hotel in Laguna (it was not a fancy hotel or anything, but it's a protocol I learned to be always tactful with your guests). I just figured maybe she's new.
5. Check-out - This was the last straw for me, really. Upon checking out, I thought everything was clear and that while still waiting for the incidental deposit to be returned, they suddenly informed me that I need to pay for the lost mechanical key, which I do not have in the first place, since they already issued key cards to us. And why would I ask for a mechanical key when I already have a key card? That was the last straw and I ended up telling them: So you will not return my incidental deposit just because of the lost mechanical key? Fortunately, I still reigned in my mood and just asked that my incidental deposit be returned to me. When I was at the airport, they suddenly called to apologize, meaning: they already found the mechanical key. So if they haven't found the mechanical key, they would not apologize of how they have inconvenienced me and my co-workers while staying there. Utterly disappointing. Will not return again. I really liked the place itself, but the service is very poor.

Green windows hotel is good but it could be better or best in town with some improvements. We occupied a family room. I was expecting for a smaller room but I was awed by a spacious room. It has enough room for my 2 year old kid to run around the room. And the room has a lot of cabinets. Aside from the big space I also noticed the bed sheets and the pillow cases. They were dirty, though they smell fresh. Even the towels were not clean. Luckily, we brought our own towels. There were also small cockroaches running around the room and the toilet. I also saw some cockroaches in the cafeteria. I feel sad for this hotel because it has a lot of potentials to compete with other hotels because of its cheap price and its location. It is near to some popular restos in town like nanay bebeng and the crab buffet. It is also near the mall. The just need to clean it thoroughly, then maybe they could be at least at the top 3 best hotel in davao.

Response from GWD188, Manager at Green Windows Dormitel
Responded Apr 16, 2015
Dear Valued Guest, Greetings from Green Windows! Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay. Your feedback is very essential to us. I am actually upset upon reading your review knowing that we weren’t able to meet your expectations and have fully noted all your concerns. I personally assessed your feedback together with our Rooms Division Department and have worked with them closely in order to resolve the issues referring to the linens and the small cockroaches. As for the linens, those were actually clean linens however it may look dirty due to its color. Few months before you stayed we have actually worked out for purchasing new sets of linens and towels. I am glad to tell you that the new sets of linens and towels will soon arrive. As for your second concern, we have seriously strived to solve this. As for now, I must say that with our effort, we have already addressed the matter as we intensify our pest control. Also, we would like to thank you for considering our advantage, especially in terms of our location, and our potential to be one of the best here in Davao. Accept our apology for the inconvenience we had caused you during your stay. Lastly, we are pleased to inform you that nevertheless constant improvements are considered to give you and our other guests comfort and convenience. We truly hope that you will come again. Best Regards, Green Windows Dormitel
