Strategically the hotel is in good position. Staff are good and polite. They are very helpful. This hotel will going to earn more if it is renovated. If not, it needed to have new painting all over. Faucets are rusty, toilets bowls old type and seats are tied up. Towels and bedding look like not changed as their colour instead of white became dirty white. You can find also some hair strands and stains n their bedding. Chair cushion was teared off and a cushion cover was used but it came out every time you stand up. Management or owner should look for it. Not worthy to be a three star hotel at all.
Old hotel. Aging amenities. Our rest room door won't lock. Dirty tiles in the rest room. Minimal food choices for breakfast. It's okay if you just need a place to crash after your day. Not really a hotel for "staycation" type of vacation. It is near the market though where you can buy cheap fruits.
We stayed here on our recent trip to Davao, its an old apartment type hotel. It needs renovation, so i hope the management would consider renovating the hotel, and orient their staff on hotel business, though front desk was friendly, but other than that, i found no reason to book here again.. Housekeeping service was too slow, i remember asking for a clothes hanger twice, it never came, so i decided to go to housekeeping myself and found one personnel just texting. In the morning, hot shower was not functioning well, i tried to call housekeeping to check and call front desk too but no one answer my call, so i again went downstair and told them about the shower. One time as i took my breakfast, i keep on waving the waiter to ask for a glass of water, i know that the waiter saw me waiving, but pretending not to notice me and just ignore. It took minutes before he came to my table. It also has a pool but we did'nt try it as it looks dirty. The location was really super good as it is near to a lot of fastfood, pharmacy, hospital. So i hope the management will do something and improve their hotel. …
This hotel is in a perfect location at the heart of Davao City but this is just a really old not very maintained one. There were tiny roaches that crawled inside the toilet and into my toiletries! The bathroom was really dated and I had to save water, I had to fill a pail. The bed and linens qere obviously worn out. There is no elevator and I was on the 3rd floor. Breakfast was pathetic. There is so much potential for this hotel being a historic one. I wish the management could see that renovation and refurbishing can bring this hotel back to its probable old glory.
So TERRIBLE! I was not able to sleep because of the noise in my room, rats running around the ceiling! Also, when I first entered the room, it was so smelly! OMG! Im soo surprised that this kind of hotel still existed. The room is not worth it at its price, its way not worth it! To sum it up, the hotel is old, smelly, creepy and ridiculously pricey!
We chose this hotel because of the location and it's perfect! close enough to People's Park, Gaisano and there's no shortage of food anywhere! But the hotel is outdated. There was no dipper in the comfort room and the toilet flush was a bit slow and almost dysfunctional. Wifi is also not so strong inside the room. Other than that, the aircon was cold, the bed's fine and the room is very dark when the lights are off, so there's no problem sleeping during the day!
Anyway, I just slept there as I was out the whole day. Bed is not first-class but its okay. Bathroom can be cleaner if only regular scrubbing of walls are done. No hot and cold water. Aircon is old but still cold. Old TV set. for 1300 pesos, not bad. Breakfast is paltry but okay. it's basically where you stay when you are tired and just want to sleep, not minding all the shortcomings. Not for family or loved ones. Location is great, though.
I tried this hotel because the location is accessible to public transport. Their room is big compared to new basic hotels. Toothbrush & sleepers were not included in the package. I suggest they should install a bidet spray in their toilet. Hope they would include fruits in their breakfast. Avoid Rm 314 because the door lock always got stuck.
We just got back home a couple of days ago from a 4-night stay at Hotel Galleria. As I stated in the title of this review, the hotel has an excellent location, affordable, but could really use an upgrade. First off, we chose this hotel because it is super near the Davao Doctors Hospital where the seminar we went to was held. I already read the reviews prior to our stay so I knew what to expect. Generally, with this hotel, you get what you paid for. But as much as I would like to give this hotel a higher rating, there are some things that they could improve on to deserve a higher score. Hotel Galleria has its own charm. In spite of the lack of amenities I would normally look for a hotel, Hotel Galleria is quite tolerable. Below is a list of things that I think they could work on: 1.) I booked a Junior Suite which you would expect to have the basic things a "suite" has to offer. However, when we got to our room, there was no phone and no fridge. I asked Front Desk about these, and we were installed a landline phone right away. However, the fridge came morning the next day. I booked and paid in advance so they knew we were coming. We also arrived late afternoon so there was plenty of time to get the room ready. So I think that they could look into ensuring that everything the guests need in their room is all ready for their arrival. 2.) I read about the staff being friendly, but there were only a handful that actually were. The receptionist needs to be a little more upbeat and more guest-oriented. The other receptionist when we checked out was worse. He was quite unfriendly. He didn't even show us the breakdown of the things I charged to our room. He merely gave us the full amount. I know I could have asked to see the receipts I signed, but this should be automatic. Also, when I asked him something, he looked as if he was annoyed that I talked to him. I think it is extremely important for receptionists to always have a smile on their face and be approachable. Still, kudos to receptionist #1 for putting up with our several demands. I kept calling him to ask for the phone, fridge, slow internet connection, etc. Most of the housekeeping staff are friendly. I like them. As well as the busboy who helped carry our bags and whom I asked to buy for us a "sako" bag for the pomelos we bought as pasalubong. 3.) Please install bidets in your toilet. I could handle the tabo in the shower, but bidets are a must. I don't think that it is that expensive to install them. If not for these things, I would have given Hotel Galleria a perfect rating.…
We arrived early and was given a room even before the check in time so that was a plus, but the room given to us smelled like damp carpet so we requested a room change. The staff was helpful and considerate. However when it rained heavily last night, water went in and woke us up. We requested basins to catch the dripping water and moved the beds so we won't get wet. Pool is ok, wifi is good. The hotel is showing signs of aging and is in need of renovation. Tv sets are crts from the 90s. Breakfast is good. Employees are very helpful.
