Due to the Chinese Plague you have to find your gems closer to home. After not being able to leave for Baler for the weekend the girlfriend went on Google and came up with The Farmhouse by EDL. I'm all ears when things are not expensive so we booked two nights.

The friendly staff made us feel welcome immediately. First impression: cosy, quiet, friendly, clean, very nice pool... Upon arrival we were the only guests so the staff took the liberty to upgrade our room. Due to the absence of guests we had to whole place to ourselves the entire stay.

Just relax and enjoy the sound of birds and streaming water. Peace and quiet, no internet... It's not a surprise that we booked an extra night.

Due to COVID it wasn't possible to do any activities during the time we were around, this was only told after arrival, it would've been nice to have known this earlier but the rest I found here made up for it.

We celebrated my mom's birthday at The Farmhouse and so far we enjoyed it. The place is nice, the staff as well. We were the only guests that weekend so it made things better. Their pool is clean so swimming was enjoyable. If it's a serene place you're after, then go to this place. Their room price is affordable, but I found their food to be expensive. We got 2 orders of chopsuey (serving good for 2) with 2 rice at P350 per order. Given that it's a farm, I was expecting lower-priced food. It was good, though, but won't be ideal if you will have to feed a bigger group. Breakfast was okay as it's included in the nightly rate. I am hoping that they start putting things into writing, like food menu, pricelist for their farm products (eggs, milk, etc) as well as their farm tour (it's separate fee) because everytime I ask, I was always given an answer that 'it would depend on their manager'. They are just new, so probably they are still adjusting. But besides those, we definitely recommend this place. It has restaurants nearby where you can dine, like Rustica, which is just about 15-20 mins drive.

The staffs are very accommodating and honestly helpful. It was my first farm experience, definitely relaxing. A worthwhile stay combined with nature and farm animals you'll find if you avail their guided tour. A mix of fun, relaxation, and learning.

Pro's:
*accommodating staff
*refreshing large pool
*simple clean rooms
*close to nature ambiance
*with complimentary toiletries
*breakfast included
*complimentary water and coffee
*allowed to bring cook food

Con's:
*small rooms
*pricey food (350 pesos for 1 serving of pinakbet, though they will get the vegetables from their own organic farm)
*at night mosquitoes starts biting so better bring mosquito repellent if planning to have dinner near the pool. .

Over all recommended for large events like wedding and team-building.

We were being offered a family room but we opted to stay in a small room to have the feel of "family camp" in a farm setting. Facilities are clean and we had a very convenient stay as the staff were hospitable and accommodating. Free breakfast included. Extra mattress for extra person in the room is being reasonably charged as it comes with free breakfast, too. Fresh cow's milk available in the morning. Party options, YES. Menu request, YES. And YES they have swimming pool. Reminder, though,"it's a farm", so manage your expectations. Am I coming back? Definitely!

We invited several friends with kids so Summer can have a fun weekend with other kids. We found this farm on the internet. I particulatrly chose this because of the chance to experience milking a cow, which we have never done before

Aside from the kids, the adults had fun as well.

Food
I've read comments that the food were expensive and serving portions were small. Well, it's no more expensive than dining in restaurants in the metro. The plus is that you are being served food that are not only presented well but are organic and delicious as well. As for the serving portions, we are big eaters so we ordered 3 viands for dinner. It was way too much food. Breakfast was plated beef tapsilog. It was really good.

Room
The room size was okay considering the very affordable rates. It was clean. The water pressure in the shower was quite weak. It came with some toiletries but it is better to bring your own. They have room towels as well.

Grounds
The place was huge but when we came, only a small part was in operation and the rest were still being developed.

The layout of the common area / dining area and the pool were perfect. It was relaxing at daytime because of the shade from the trees and even more beautiful in the evening with the lighting. The pool was great and very inviting.

Activities
Everyone (kids and adults) had so much fun swimming and even more fun during the farm tour. It was very informative and much more interactive than the other farm tours I've been to. We had our hand feeding the animals - free range chicken, black pigs, cows. We also tried making salted eggs. The best part was milking the cow which was a first for us!

Staff
Excellent service through and through, especially our farm tour!

We were able to buy some pastillas, salted eggs and potted plants but I would have wanted to buy more organic veggies, eggs and chicken which were not available for sale at the time.

Tips and info:
1. If you intend to buy any of their produce, let then know in advance before you come. They have eels, ducks, chicken, eggs, black pigs and veggies

2. You can order black pick lechon de leche as long as you ordet it in advance so they will have the time to prepare and cook it.

3. Bring snacks. It was still their soft opening when we went. It was a good idea for us to bring snack especially for the kids

4. Bring floaters for the kids. They have a kiddie pool but it is still quite deep for toddlers

We're already thinking of going back. Some in our group has already booked to go with their own groups / families.

Thank you for a wonderful experience!

This is one good place to stay to get away from the stress of the city life. The farmhouse was clean, staffs were very hospitable, the swimming pool is crystal clear. They are also into Organic Food.

I will definitely come back with my family so they can enjoy the farm activities.
