I am from the U.S. I was there visiting friends in San Pablo.I stayed a month. The facility is directly on Sampolac lake, Very beautiful building with nice rooms with large shower and pool. I was the only guest as it was not tourist season. Made to order egg breakfast tasty, but not fancy. I did have to ask that the hot water be turned on. Internet was marginal at best during that time. Cleaning staff of young people very friendly. They did a good job. I seemed to get a nice discount and asked to pay when I departed. Very trusting.
I will look forward to staying there again.

We stayed here recently on a family trip. The hotel is dated, but nice. We were never able to access wifi in our room, despite the staff's assurance it was fixed. Shower water was tepid at best.

The view is great over the lake, but the pool needs to be better maintained as it was dirty when we arrived. It's a grand space in a neat location, it just needs some TLC to keep it in better shape.

My family stayed in Tahanan Hotel for 2 nights and 3 days during the Holy Week last week. The owner of the place, Mr WIlson Borja was there during our stay and he kept checking on us, especially that my son was not feeling well that time. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by smiling faces and ushered to our room making sure that we had everything we needed. The place had a scenic view of Sampaloc lake and Mt Makiling and the cool breeze made our entire stay very relaxing. The breakfast was quite limited (not buffet, you are given a list of choices which you will be asked to choose from the night before). Food was good. May be improved and selection may be widened. My son liked their French toast. Servers were very courteous and accommodating. Nina, Ogie at the REception attended to our every request with urgency and care. Waking up to see a beautiful lake and Mt Makiling, and getting cool fresh air each day, and being attended to by kind people made us happy content customers :)

Staying at this beautiful, converted family home was elegant and reminisant of an earlier time in history when you wanted elegance to go with your holiday. Our room was spacious and the wood floors throughout were beautifully maintained. The staff was extremely accommodating and it felt as though we were extended family visiting our relatives. Great experience.

+ Nice view of the lake. Get a room with a view overlooking the lake.

- Paper thin walls --- i can hear the tv in the other room until past midnight
- Breakfast didn't include fruits. When we requested some, they were absolutely frozen!
- Had to pay an extra P250 when we checked out 30 mins late --- most places I've stayed at didn't require paying any additional fee for such

I appreciate him finding my credit card and returning it to me! This is a charming place with beautiful grounds, spacious lobby, and quaint but clean rooms. Breakfast is good, made to order. I am grateful to Clayton for averting potential disaster when I lost my card on the premises!

Although I've seen beforehand the not-so-impressive Reviews about this place as being too rustic and low-tech, still we, family of 3 had booked and went ahead for our 3 Days-2 Nights Holy Week vacation, of course with our mindset of least expectation, no big requirements but simply open-minded. To our surprise, yes the place is rustic & old but it's clean, yes, it's basic but with efficient functioning Toilet & Bath and never-fail WiFi connection, yes the Staff have shown no international hotel talent or training but they're very helpful, on-time, kind and accommodating. The place in general is located in a barrio setting with no fancy atmosphere but very peaceful. And on our first night, Maundy Thursday, from our hotel room's balcony, we'd noticed the beautiful bright New Moon, shining on Mt. Cristobal as backdraft causing a reflection as if it was floating over the Sampaloc Lake. The following day, Good Friday, the view from sunrise to sunset had changed altogether by the different mirror effects of Mt. Cristobal over the Sampaloc Lake, all picture-perfect, a view for reflections and a view to reboot your heart..., a great bonus indeed. Our Room 202 is Highly Recommended, as - "Room with a View". Thank you.

I've been texting them about my reservation and questions but they don't reply timely. On the day we were about to check-in I texted them to confirm my reservation but still no response so I have to call and Wilson guaranteed us a room. Upon check-in we were impressed because we were upgraded from deluxe to superior room. Haha! Only 1 couple was checked in aside from me and my hubby. That explains why. Anyway, the view from our window was impressive! At around 4pm we decided to go to SM to eat. At their parking lot, there was a child beggar in the premises of the hotel! Talk about security!

By the way, the room was old, creepy old ceiling fan and one cabinet was locked (horror film-like). The water shower was frustrating! You can't adjust the temperature of the aircon! The room smells dusty so we have to bring our car freshener inside! Only soap and shampoo were provided. No toothbrush and toothpaste. Hmm..

During breakfast, it was a major turn off when the spoon showed remnants from the last person who used it. It was not washed properly. Their coffee was like water that was colored. I would have appreciated it if they just served instant coffee.

Major turn off was about when we're leaving. It was raining. I asked the receptionist if we can borrow an
umbrella. Hesitant, she asked if I'm gonna return it. I said we'll just get our car. My hubby decided to leave me in the lobby to get the car and pick me up in front. The lady never bothered to walk me in my car! She was concerned if I will return the umbrella than me getting soaked!

If you are looking for affordable place to stay in, Tahanan ni Aling Meding is highly commendable. Only few hrs away from manila. Located along downtown San Pablo so there won't be any hassle for one to look for a dining place. Room rate is affordable, staff are friendly. The room where we stayed is spacious , Aside from aircon, there is also ceiling fan.We enjoyed our stay since our veranda is facing Sampaloc view and Mt. Banahaw. such a lovely view specially in the morning where i can see sun rises. Am quite particular with comfort rooms and somehow it satisfies my standard - spacious, with hot and cold shower, towels are fresh.
definitely, i'll be back in this place soon.
