Hotel needs urgent repaint and little renovations - breakfast is a complete failure The location is nice, the rooms are big, even though the bathrooms are already a little bit outdated would need some renovation. The pool facilities are in general very nice, but also here maintenance not done. Showers not working a.s.o. Outside facilities are not so well maintained, paint falling off the walls all over the place. The Gym is very small, and dirty. For sure a lot of space for improvement. The breakfast can only be considered as a total failure. As one of the most expensive hotels in the area, you will only find the typical cheap filipino breakfast, rice and some kinds of meat. Not even close of what to expect from a hotel in that price category. I would not even feed that to my dog on a daily basis. Luckily there are some other hotels and restaurants around to get decent breakfast. When you call yourself the Santorini of Asia, then a little bit of international standard can be expected. The only international standard which was met here, was unfortunately only the room rate.

The resort facilities are very nice. What you see on the website is what you get. Beds are comfortable and the full body Signature massage is heaven. 1st downside, FO gave us a massage leaflet but when we asked for the service, the attendant said that they're not offering those packages anymore. 2nd downside was the restaurant & room service which is until 10PM. We called the FO b4 9:30PM for menu as it wasn't available in the room. FO said it will be sent & we received it b4 10PM. We immediately called the restaurant to place our orders and we're advised that they're already closed and we find it so unacceptable that we're not informed upon check in that the last order was 9:30PM. On top of it, no alternative was given to us until we asked if we're supposed to be kept hungry until the next day? The off duty supervisor Rachel called the restaurant at the casino if they can do room service for us. We ended up leaving the comfort of our room going to the casino restaurant just to dine in the middle of a typhoon!

Booked a Double room deluxe with balcony. They somehow booked it wrong, so I got a bigger room with 2 Queensize beds. Nice looking room with good view, but the smell from aircondition was bad. The big showerhead did not work. The ventilation in the bathroom did not work. I stayed in that room for 1 night. Could not take the smell from the aircondition. The manager said he also smelled it, and apologized. Got a new room with 1 bed. Same problems with the bathroom. After taking a shower, and opening the bathroomdoor to the rest of the hotelroom, the floor would get moist. Would not recommend this place for that price.

This place has a few nice spots but overall feels old, in need of repainting. The food are bad. Really nothing good about it. Soup tastes like campbell canned soup, cappuccino cake doesn’t have any coffee taste at all. Waiters and waitresses are not trained well.

I booked through agoda for 4 nights paid in advance, no issues with agodo. When i checked in, The check in counter woman asked me for a security deposit of 8K, She immediately swiped my card and my credit card company immediately texted me. i informed the check in counter woman that i was charged, she said they will void it once we check out. So i said okay. When we checked out, the front desk told us to wait so that they can check, a few minutes later they said everything is fine and they will return the security deposit through my credit card. I said okay, but i noticed that she did not do anything and just assisted another customer who was checking out. I was not happy about it but i just assume that she will just do it later. Fast forward now, i called my credit card company and the customer service said no refund yet, i should contact the merchant. i have been trying to call thunderbird's contact number, no one is answering, i messaged their facebook page, no reply. Seriously so irresponsible! I will be forced to file a dispute if they don't cancel it. This will take effort on my part. calling again and emailing to file a dispute. So annoying really. Think twice before checking in this hotel. It's not just about the 8k. It's about treating your customers right when they encounter problems due to t his hotel's negligence.

We went there on June 4 for an overnight stay as that is the only available slot. The place was ok and not impressive as the pictures, a bit unkempt but the worst part are the services. The place is quite isolated. Even if you are a guest you have to make a reservation in their only restaurant in order to have dinner at the buffet, Mind you, front desk does not inform most of their guests of this upon check in. We were refused entry at the resto and many guests had no choice but to find their luck outside the "resort" Lucky for them and unlucky for us we told front desk that we were never advised upon check in so they allowed to go on. It turned out we have to order from the limited menu since they still won't allow us to eat from the buffet. We reluctantly agreed as we have seniors and children in tow who don't wanna drive out. Our food came in batches with 30 minute interval each time. First the tomato soup that tastes like it came from a can. Then the sad ceasar salad, next came the seafood fritters which consist of, french fries. calamares that tastes like rubber and battered canned tuna. After almost 2 hours we can't take it any longer and just asked them to serve the fried chicken to go. We paid over 6,000 pesos. When we got to our rooms, the fried chicken were all burned, tasting like charcoal. I was livid at this point but still i coolly asked the manager what he can offer He washed his hands and blamed the chef! He begrudgingly gave me the option to refund the chicken or he can cook us another batch. It was already 10:30 I asked him if they can buy us food outside as I am so reluctant at this point to eat the food. He said he can't risk his staff at night So I told him that he has inconvenienced his guests and now we are all hungry with nowhere to go I ordered him to refund us the chicken and make sure to cook another batch with no charge. Told him this is the worst service and they claim to be a 5 star resort! The meal was delivered to our rooms at almost 11:30 with a slice of apology cake The next day the breakfast buffet came in second worst! Slice of hotdogs, runny scrambled eggs, danggit and giniling with a side of over riped fruits! Worst hotel!

The management/owners probably wanted to recoup losses incurred during the pandemic, they made it available to the public immediately. We had a bunch of issues with the rooms we booked (3 deluxe rooms on the first floor). For our room (113), the tv was not working so we did not get to use it. The bathroom sink was clogged and drainage was slow to clear. The shower enclosure also had mold and mildew, seemed like it wasn't scrubbed for a long time. The bed linens smelled like they were not washed or dried properly. My friends had other issues as well such as water heater not working in the bathroom, and toilet not flushing. The outward aesthetic of the place is nice, blue and white color scheme is reminiscent of a foreign country. I wished they also paid the same attention to the amenities and the rooms. The food in Olives was meh, not a ton of options either and too expensive for the taste. Had the seafood marinara, it wasn't good. The only saving grace in this experience is the staff, they tried their best to accommodate all our asks even though they were also undermanned. Overall, could have been a better experience for the price point of 6k per night. Would not recommend.

Four nights - two in a Deluxe Room via Booking.com (for 20k total vs 16k direct) and two nights in a 2-bed Villa (28k total promo rate) next to the golf course which was perfect for our golfing family. 5-minute walk to the hotel for breakfast. 10 minute walk to beach. Pros: Golf Greek style development is unique and Poro Point has history. Sea breeze Infinity pool at the the Fira beach club with sunset vibe Villa was nice for families with a large rooms and an unique bathroom Casino I guess Cons: Didnt enjoy the local fare for breakfast buffet. TBH breakfast better at the lobby coffee shop which didnt open until 9:30/10:00. Poor ventilation design of Lobby and Olives to make use of the prominent hill-top for natural cooling. Villas were poorly equipped with no cooking - just a large fridge/freezer. Fira beach was rocky and unappealing.

The experience we had in Thunderbird was exciting and filled with fun with the family. They have 3 big kid-friendly pools, since they are only at approximately 4ft deep. My 3 kids enjoyed swimming every morning and before sunset for 3 days! The place in general is great, room is okay, staffs are awesome, friendly, efficient and very accommodating. Majority of the beach front is rocky, and there's only a small portion where guests are allowed, unfortunately it was closed when we visited. Overall, I would recommend Thunderbird for people who wants to have a break from the city. May be a bit pricey, but, kids had a lot of fun and memories, so it was all worth it.
