Detailed Reviews
Aruga at The Grove by Rockwell in Pasig is a perfect retreat from the concrete jungles of Makati and Ortigas. It's a Rockwell property so you know you will receive a premier experience. I recommend the executive suite, with its self contained kitchen, separate lounge, office and bedroom. Free high speed WiFi, use of both of the pools, gym, tennis and basketball courts. With a tropical resort feel, I put Aruga up with properties like Stamford, Sofitel, Hyatt and Shangrila. The staff are exactly what you would expect and more. From concierge to security. You will always receive a friendly greeting and the upmost courtesy from everyone. The complex has a variety of restaurants to dine in or have delivered up to your suite. Rustans, 7/11, and Starbucks are personal favourites. Located close to the C5 - Ortigas avenue intersection its a short drive to Makati, the Ortigas business district, BCG, Eastwood and Quezon City. Honeymoon, family or business, you can be assured that your stay will leave you wanting to stay permenantly.... and you can :-D

What an Excellent stay!
It was actually for our anniversary but we decided to bring our kids with us so they could enjoy the pool. The Pool is huge and clean. The Place is amazing. There are establishments within the vicinity ( Starbucks, Rustan's Supermarket, Restaurants, Salon, ATM machine ). The deluxe rooms are perfect. It has Fully equipped kitchen. Almost anything you need in your house will be there. Really worth your money.
The staff are also nice & friendly ( Especially JC ) . I must say they are competent. We enjoyed our stay. We will definitely come back here next year!

My husband and I are about to move to our new condo unit, so we tried this newly opened hotel in Pasig. The staff in the Grove will take care of you during your stay, they will make you feel you are really at your own home. Their serve is beyond your expectations. From the ocular to the check in process they are very accommodating to all our requests. They dont have a f&b outlet, however they have breakfast partners that will accommodate your breakfast from 7am - 10pm (isn't that nice all day breakfast!!). The retail row has a lot of restaurants fro you to choose from, during our stay BDO is still not open, we need to cross to Tiendesitas to go to the bank.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here, you should also try their amenity deck, where the swimming pools are located. Elaine and Cory are extra ordinary in their service to help and please us. They serve beyond their duties EXCELLENT!!!! Keep up what you're doing!
I would highly recommend this Hotel to my family and friends. It's worth your money with the service they have.

I stay at this place whenever I visit Pasig almost every monthly or bi monthly for the last one year. No regret. It has all the facilities within this “town”. A few restaurants offer reasonable good foods. Importantly, there is one supermarket and one 7 Eleven. So it is really very convenient as visitors.

I recently stayed at Aruga on the Grove for 9 days. Firstly the property is excellent, well kept and very clean with excellent amenities. It is not really a Hotel in the traditional sense but rather a condominium complex of 6 towers where 1 of the towers is run and managed as a hotel. The other towers are full of residents and as such the property doesn't really have the usual hotel tourist information services or tourist booking facilities. What you do get though is an excellent room with small kitchenette and a washing machine and dryer, excellent! You also get full use of the properties facilities like pools and an excellent gym, tennis court, basketball court! Having said all of that, Manila is a huge city with a bad traffic problem...so you need to consider where you will be spending most of your time in Manila and book accommodation accordingly....a 10km trip can take between 45 - 60 minutes depending on the time of day. For me Pasig was close to what I was doing and I will definitely stay at Aruga if and when I go back.....one thing to bear in mind...the taxi drivers do not really know this property by the name Aruga..or Aruga on the Grove....they may know it as Rockwell....but there are a number of Rockwells in Manila (so I found out)...so you are best off telling them Rockwell Pasig on the C5, if that doesn't work tell them near Tiendesitas...they all know Tiendesitas (pronounced Chen-de-seatas). Also beware of taxi meter scams from the airport...your trip shouldn't be more than around 250 - 300 peso.

They ought to improve breakfast service (and other service areas as well)
We stayed at a one bedroom suite on Christmas Eve 2016, cost is Php9K++. I was surprised that the living area was spacious. That’s a bonus because we are 4 in the family (if there was a 2BR suite available, that’s what I’ll book though). Since the room was already paid, we had no problems with check-in. We were given 2 breakfast vouchers (standard double occupancy). Since one room will not be enough for us for sleeping, I’ve requested for an extra bed. At this point, I’ve forgot to ask for the extra breakfast voucher, and the reception forgot to provide me as well.
When we got to the room, I thought to myself that it would have been okay not to get an extra bed because the living area was spacious and there was a sofa bed in the office area adjacent to the living area which may be enclosed by a sliding glass panel. The interior is as-seen in pictures so those are pluses.
So what’s not to like. For one, there’s no breakfast buffet which was a letdown since the family enjoys breakfast buffet on Christmas day. It was only breakfast vouchers for plated breakfast at The Gardens. Since we’re supposed to have only 3 vouchers (2 vouchers on-hand, 1 was not yet provided), we thought we will just order extra. We were encouraged to place advance orders for breakfast so that they can advise the restaurant beforehand, probably to facilitate timely prep. Receptionist said during check-in that the breakfast menu is already in the room.
When we got to the room, the breakfast menu was not there. Not a problem, we thought we will just request after we’ve settled and enjoy the room and view. Maybe around 3 or 4pm we called service to ask for the breakfast menu. They insisted it was in the room but we told no, there’s nothing there. They had someone come up to the room. The first thing he did was ask us if there was the breakfast menu, we again told no. He asked if he can come in to check as it should be on the table. We said go ahead and see for yourself. When he didn’t see anything he asked where the coffee area was (which was ironic as hotel people should know it), we pointed where it was. He checked around and found none (so yes, the staff responsible for placing that breakfast menu has not done his job). Finally, he handed the breakfast menu.
We called service to ask for the additional voucher (for the extra bed). They said they will have it delivered to the room. By the time we phoned in to place our orders (probably between 5:30 or 7pm), the extra voucher was not yet sent to us (at this point it was okay because I thought The Gardens is a partner restaurant so it will be smooth sailing the next day). Anyway, we placed the orders, breakfast for 4. We were told that since we only have 3 vouchers, they can only take 3 orders. The other 1 will have to be ordered at the restaurant when we dine in as it will be billed by the restaurant and not Aruga. Okay… I really tried to understand, I did try. The Gardens is their partner restaurant, right? Can you just have done the extra mile and take note of the extra order and pass it on to the restaurant. I am fully aware that it is not included in my Aruga billing, that I have to pay separately for it at the restaurant. And what if I want to order 10 extra, can’t I do that too? What’s the point of advance order? Hmmm.
The next day, breakfast time. We were there on time. We were asked by waitress to confirm order. We did and ordered an extra breakfast. Waitress took the vouchers (we handed only 2 voucher coz the extra voucher was not delivered to us). After a minute, waitress was asking for my extra voucher. I asked her if she can just confirm it with hotel for that extra voucher (a call or just a minute or less walk to reception will do it). Besides, waitress already had our orders, does that not count as confirmation since it came from hotel? Hmmmm. She said she doesn’t have connection to hotel so she can’t confirm (what the hell does that mean?). She said she needs to have the physical voucher. At this point, I am irate, I am hungry so I just walked down to the reception to claim the voucher. When I asked for the voucher at reception counter, receptionist can’t seem to find my voucher. Or seem to be searching for any confirmation that I have an extra voucher. Or maybe she’s unsure where to look for it as she asked assistance from a superior (I think). This was my boiling point. I just wanted to eat, I don’t want to wait long. So I snapped (not my finest hour by the way). I eventually got my extra voucher which I had to hand over to the waitress. I thought that was the last.
We order 1 pasta dish, 1 chorizo and fried rice, and 2 bacon/egg/toast (1 was the extra). When all orders were served The extra bacon/egg/toast has candied bacon. We asked the waitress why. She said because it is extra, we cannot order from the “Aruga” menu, it has to be from The Gardens menu. Really, now?
So yes, this was the worst Christmas day breakfast we had. I don’t mind paying extra as long as I get my money’s worth. But the breakfast at The Gardens was so-so… meh. And with all the hassle, not worth it at all. So yes, I was disappointed.
I hope Aruga improves how they serve or offer breakfast to their guests because this was not how I envisioned my Christmas day breakfast. We always have a staycation during Christmas for the last 5 years and this was the worst Christmas breakfast we had.

I should have checked the spotty reviews first and would have avoided this earlier. I rarely make reviews (only once on Trip Advisor) but my experience here was so bad I HAD to write it down. I travel a lot, A LOT. and so when I see a hotel charging so much and bragging so much but barely meets a morsel of expectation...they deserve someone who can tell it to their face that they have to STEP UP.
Where do I start---they forgot to make up my room despite TWO concierge requests already and they apologized by giving me instead free juice and nuts (how classy).
The worst part---POOR SIGNAGES everywhere. this is a complex shared with condo residences, not a pure hotel so prepare to wander around looking for the gym, the pool, with all the elevators that go everywhere. Your concierge is a 5min walk from your building (yup separate building).
Breakfast is just a php250 voucher from a choice of restos downstairs--so cheap and small servings you will likely spend for more.
I paid 5k pesos per night, stayed 2 nights and really wont go back here. You deserve to spend your hard earnes money elsewhere folks. Dont reward hotels who treat you like youre just passing by.

Aside from being situated in the busy streets of Ortigas Ave and C5, this SB Hub fulfills my need for an oasis. Also staff here are nice. The made me a second drink for free because I needed to coffee to have some ice. Good job

I had booked a room for the night an hour and half earlier through agoda, and came to the hotel expecting a smooth check-in as I have been used to at the Aruga by Rockwell in Makati. When I gave my name for the room, agoda booking on hand, I was surpised to be told by the manager on duty that she couldn't find my booking.
I was told to "wait for a few minutes until they receive an email confirmation/booking from agoda". I showed the email sent to me, but was again told to wait, since the confirmation "usually comes an hour or two after booking". I asked that she call agoda, but she said we should just wait, otherwise they would have to make an international call. They expected us to wait, rather than place an international call!
I insisted that I had already a booking confirmation and was already billed through my credit card. Only then did she borrow my phone to view my confirmation. I had to be more assertive for her to actually take action, otherwise we would have been made to wait for a room that we already paid for. Throughout the process, the manager on duty seemed unhappy to attend to the matter.
This was close to 10pm, and I was tired and looking forward to a good rest, but the poor service and response to the situation caused me much stress and inconvenience after an already long day.
I definitely would still stay at the Aruga in Makati, but definitely NOT this one in Pasig at the Grove!

Upon check in, there were already some minor problem, the room that i booked is a one bedroom premier with king bed, but i was told its not available and they only had twin or i can opt to upgrade to a king suite for 500 pesos per night. I was kinda irritated because as part of my booking, clearly indicated king one bedroom premier. And asking me to pay 500 pesos per night for something that is not my fault is kinda steep don't you think? So i said its okay since i liked the suite when they showed me. Service was indeed excellent except HOUSEKEEPING, always takes 30mins when we requested for jwater. Everyone was so courteous but I did not really enjoy my stay because there were noises everywhere construction workers talking at the hallways, elevators too slow and most of the time guest are not the one who is in the elevator but construction workers and housekeeping with their trolleys so we had to squeeze inside rather than wait another 15mins for the elevator.
Every morning we heard drilling sounds, not that minor sound that you can ignore. It was so noisy that we can hear it even if the tv was in full volume. I didnt complain about it the first day, but then the 2nd day i really had enough. The Duty Manager I think her name is Ria called me to apologize and extended my check out time since im sick and i cant rest due to the noise. She told me the drilling will only be 10-2pm, but surprisingly around 4pm it started again. Upon check out i was furious but opt to just answer the comment form instead arguing. Im a traveller and hotelier, quite understanding when it comes to unusual circumstances just didn't expect it from Rockwell. After we left, I realized i forgot about my deposit. I stayed calm and told them that i will come back. As a Hotelier, i know that its the standard sop of the front desk to remind the guest about voiding their deposit or return the cash. They texted me but it was too late, it was 2hrs after we left the place. In lieu of all the incident happen to me the supervisor or manager called up and said that she will waived the 500/night upgrade to compensate for their incompetence which i deeply appreciated. I was disappointed really. I have to admit i didnt enjoy my stay due to the honest. I have stayed at aruga rockwell, and it was so worth it. Never complained before, nor did i know this would happen to me with rockwell. To be honest the price is not worth it. I hope they improve next time.

If you are alone, I think it will be ok. My sister stayed with me whenever she could. Beyond 2 might be an issue.
Traffic is so bad at The Grove. I suggest you take one of their shuttle services to Megamall and start from there
Hi Ms. Kharen,
Good afternoon!
We highly recommend you book our Two Bedroom Suite because three people can sleep comfortably in the said suite. Breakfast is also for three people when you book a two bedroom suite.
Thank you!
