We found this hotel very noisy. Our room was near the laundry and there was always loud talking. On top of that there was a man and woman arguing in the early hours of the morning. Yelling continued for nearly an hour. Rooms do not have windows and the passageways are like a maze. No power points near the bed. Had to buy an extension lead to run cpap.
Staff were very friendly.

from 3 Elevators only one was working. But how? Staff have to move a wooden Panel any time, if the Elevator arrives, because the automatic door dont work. From inside a staff have to slide the door with his fingers....
It was so stinky inside, that you are Close to vomite. Smells strong like glue solvent. Also the Elevator stopps between the floors, and the Alarm dont work.
A poor staff have to be inside this stinky Elevator at all time.
There are no stairs, exept the fire Exit stairs, so no choice. The Hotel is in the 5th floor. because of this dangerous Elevator without Substitute it should be instantly closed for safety reasons.
Beside ist noisy, the staff is all night Long busy in front of the doors to call guests, or talking through her walkie-talkies...Mostly guests come there only for short time....

I guess at the prices guests should not have high expectations, but I don't think mine were excessively high. The linen was well worn and 'holy', consisting of only two sheets and two pillows . I had to pay for extras. The rooms are small (maybe not by Filipino standards but they are for foreigners) and no windows. The bathroom is equally compact and space saving. There is a small bench/table in front of a mirror but only one chair. The positives are that food is good, reasonably priced, and the food service quick. Location is convenient and central, (opp. JAM Liner Terminal and not far from Airport). I would suggest this hotel only for overnight stays in Manila.

I frequently check in at Sogo Hotels and never expected that I would be experiencing a nightmare staying at Sogo Buendia.

1. Towels were notputinto plastic wrap as I normally see wherever I go (the attendant who came to check told me "we were rushing so we did not put in the plastic", which I find not reasonable).

2. No complimentary bottled drink (I always get water) im paying for12 hours coz i was so tired and not get anything complimentary. Very frustrating.

3. Upon check-in i reported my ac isnt working and just the vent coming from the ceiling. No one bothered to check on me if everything is ok. I had to advise them after 6 hours of sleeping and still it got resolved an hour before i check out (sweat is all over my body).

Good thing the frontdesk agent in the morning is very polite though my over all experience is a disaster.

I will not recommend this branch to any of my friends and for you who is reading my review.

April 6, 2018- I decided to get a room in the Gil Puyat (LRT Buendia) branch. First off, there are no other available rooms but the Excutive and Regency ones so I chose the cheaper one for 3 hours.
At first I thought it was a good deal, the room looked decent as I get in. But things started to get awful.
- Bedsheet, blanket, and pillow cases does not look or smell clean. If the lights are not dim, I bet that I am going to be horrified with what I will see.
- I am almost done when the water begins to feel warm, so yes I had to take a cold shower at first.
-There are flies (LANGAW!) and I was able to kill three of them.
-My skin felt itchy after using their linens. So either they didn't rinse it off properly or they are using a very strong detergent.

Please spare yourself from the grossness of this hotel. If you have a budget, choose a better place. This one's for "short-timers" as they say.... No.... I am not going back.

Initially I was reluctant to use a SOGO hotel given previous poor reviews however this branch seemed to be an exception. I needed a place to rest for 12 hours between bus arrival and flight departure and had noticed the convenient location straight across from the bus depot a few days previously so I decided to give it a go.

This is a budget hotel next to a bus station which rents rooms by the hour and doesn't allow children on the premises so know what to expect. I chose an Executive room which can be had in 12 or 24 blocks with additional hours available, Econ rooms are rented in shorter blocks best suited to their intended use.

The room was a pleasant surprise, clean and renovated with everything working. It wasn't too far behind a Tune/Red Planet room. There was a small toiletries packet, safe, tv with adult channels, towels and top sheet were in a sealed pack from the laundry. Wifi was very fast and room service was available. Staff were friendly and helpful.

There is a security guard outside 24 hours, this is not an area you want to be walking around in the dark so take a taxi to and from the hotel at night.

This hotel is best used for a short transit between flights and buses or a couple who need a room for a short time. The best feature is the ability to walk in at 5.00am and pay for 12 hours where as most hotels do in at 2.00pm and out at 11.00am. The price was reasonable, even at the higher weekend rate and suited what I wanted, which was somewhere to leave my bags for a few hours while I went to the Mall of Asia, get a few hours sleep and a shower before leaving for the airport at 3.00am.

I would happily stay here again.

The "Sogo Greeting" is not just a bow that you get when you go at any Hotel Sogo. It's a commitment from the hotel and the staff you will experience when you stay at their hotels. They do mean service. I felt that when I stayed in Hotel Sogo Gil Puyat. I was really sleepy though I was expecting that there would be need for me to wait before I could check in. It was unexpected that the staff would made arrangement for a very affordable room that comes with a free breakfast package. One of the staff notice how sleepy I was and I was given a room right away. Breakfast was sent to the room as well. Slept all day comfortably!

The rooms are clean. Contrary to what I expect to see and hear about its reputation.. We had a nice spacious room, the toilet is clean (the flush isn't working though), hot water in bath, a working AC, flat TV, hair dryer.. The receptionist is a bit rude, but the elevator lady and other staffs are nice. They have good wifi. It is a good choice if you need a place to stay for a night.
