Kabayan Hotel, one of the most preferred hotels of OFWs and city travelers looking for great-value accommodation in Metro Manila, is a triumph of true Filipino hospitality. From the time guests are met at the airport and throughout each moment of their stay, travelers experience an extraordinary kind of welcome and care that is uniquely Filipino. All of the 602 reasonably priced rooms are thoughtfully prepared, each with a minimalist but functional design. The accommodations have air-conditioning, cable TV, and private toilet and bath. Further facilities include complimentary Wi-Fi access, airport transfer, and parking. Indeed, this place provides a home for everybody - the reason why guests keep on coming back and find it hard to leave. As how the Filipinos would say it, "laging binabalikan, mahirap iwanan."

I arrived at NAIA Terminal 4 and sent a text to the hotel for taxi pickup. I only had to wait about 20 minutes.
This is a busy hotel. My check in was quick and easy. I booked a Solo Pad as I was overnighting to take an early morning flight.
My room and bathroom were very small. Apart from the single bed there was a table and a stool. Lighting was good. The aircon was loudish so I slept with it off. The TV had plenty of channels but some buffered. One power point for recharging. My internet data had poor connection so I relied on the hotel's wifi.
My central heated shower was lukewarm but the water pressure was okay.
They have a dedicated transportation desk for making bookings which is convenient.
I'm no expert on Manila hotel prices but I felt the price I paid for a dog box size room was slightly overpriced. Maybe a larger size room is the way to go.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Kabayan.
PROs: loved the free shuttle to Mall of Asia
: free breakfast was amazing although I find the serving a little bit small. I stayed for 3 nights and everytime, the selections were different so kudos!
: the location of this hotel was perfect. It's right at the center of everything I guess? I never had to ride the train but like I said, just use their free shuttle to MOA and youre basically good to go.
: I booked a massage on my third night. The lady that came for me had magic hands! She treated my lower back and I requested the foot reflexology as well. Prices were reasonable too. They offer a room service for an additional P100 which was totally okay.
: the friendliness of their staff was over and beyond what I imagine. They helped me with everything.

CONS: so I initially booked the Pad Solo but I find that it was too small and very shabby. I've stayed in big and small capsule hotels in Japan so I expected them to have at least a room for luggages. The washroom was okay but the space itself you get from the room was way too small. You won't be able to open your luggage even if you only have a carry on. So, I called the front desk and asked if I can upgrade to a normal Queen bedroom instead. I was asked to pay for an additional P6000 (roughly CAD150) for it! I had to stay for 3 nights there so I don't think I will be able to bare the small Pad solo. So I was asked to wait in the room as someone will help me transfer to the queen room. After waiting for about 45mins, they still have not come to assist me so I had to carry my two luggages all the way to the lobby again. They helped me carry it all the way to my new room anyway so it was fine.
: on my third day, I think the card reader for my room had some issues so I had to ask the front desk to fix it. It was fixed a little over 45 mins after. (it was just an issue coz I had the massage booked at that time so me and the lady waited awkwardly outside my room waiting for the fixing guy to come)
: the washroom bath tub was a little too dirty. So for anyone wanting to take a bath.. i'd prefer not to. I think it's strictly only for showering.
: NO shampoo or conditioner provided. Only toothbrush and one little round soap were present.

Honestly, the queen bedroom I got was way too big for 1 person to stay in. Overall, I think their best asset is their people. The staff was the best thing about this hotel.

Our stay at Kabayan Hotel was for the 10-day quarantine for arriving international passengers. It is basically "confinement to room" as required by the government and paid for by the passenger. Kabayan made our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible in the circumstances. Room was clean and of acceptable size. Three daily "box" meals (Filipino food) were included in the cost and placed on a chair just outside the room door at meal time. Other items could be ordered from the hotel menu at additional cost, and hotel staff were willing to accept "grocery list errands" each morning, and purchased the items from a nearby grocery and brought them to our room. Very convenient! Take-out or delivery meals from outside restaurants were not permitted. RT-PCR tests (gov't requirement, paid by passenger) were conducted on Day 7 at the hotel. Change of towels and linens was upon request only. Front desk was very considerate and helpful throughout our stay. Kabayan's location was very good for onward travel after quarantine. Cost was very reasonable (US $550 for 9 nights for 2 persons, which included the daily box meals). The only down side was traffic noise from the adjacent thoroughfare, but it was tolerable... we didn't lose any sleep. Overall, satisfied with our stay.

The room was dirty, especially the bathroom. I couldn't sleep as throughout the night, there were random knocks on the door and at some points it sounded as though people were trying to get into my room. Very uneasy feeling as a solo female traveler! I wanted to spend more money on a hotel after a long flight but I found that most Hostels were cleaner and safer. The transport to and from the airport was alright and on time, although one of the drivers kept making comments about my appearance, asking me to be his wife and asking if I can give him more money.

Really nice, clean and quiet. Great staff and food was good also. Would definitely stay there again.
Make your reservations in advance using their website which is very easy to make sure that you can get accommodations because they are very popular and always booked up.

Very bad service, on NAIA airport ,they said that Meal can be ordered from outside like Food Panda, Grad Food or any Fastfood that are able to deliver like Mcdonalds or Jollibee and be delivered in the guest hotel room. But actually the guest are PROHIBiTED and were NOT ALLOWED to order food from outside but are forced to order food from the hotel which has a Higher price and limited menu. The internet Wifi Service are toooooo Slowwww . So to my kababayans Beware of the Kabayan Hotel, book at Other Hotels instead. The foods were expensive, you cannot fom order outside restaurants or fastfood. Very Bad Experience.

The service is excellent ! I think what made me rate them with 3 is the hotel facility itself. I think the hotel especially the hallways needed a detailed cleaning of some sort. It smelled musty and not inviting. During my stay I encountered someone hammering on top of my room, I understand that the hotel is having some work done but they should have not opened the new building if it’s not thoroughly finished. The room is located in a busy street surrounded by residential building and the hammering sounds added to the noise that made our stay not so relaxing. I got sick on the 3rd day of my stay here (LBM) and not sure if it’s the food. So I would also recommend to please check the safe handling, prepping and cooking of the food. I got better after 4th day when I consulted the BOQ’s medical personnel. They prescribed us meds that really helped us to get well. I appreciate the kitchen personnel for accommodating our request especially during the days I need to have a special food (tinolang manok) to help me get better. I also want to ask them in the future to include fruits and soups in their dishes. I really think the food that we had is not balanced, it’s tasty yes but it’s lacking the nutrients needed for someone like me who got sick during my quarantine stay. I cannot emphasize further the service of the staff , they are very commendable, friendly and helpful. Please do a tour of the building and see for yourself what I saw as a guest.

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport, but it's not worth it. Other hotels further away also offer convenient airport shuttles OR they can book a cheap Grab for you. Or you can book a cheap Grab yourself. The hotel is located in a very loud and busy part of the city, so it's hard to get peaceful rest. The noise is constant. It only stops for a few brief hours at night before starting up again around 4 AM. Also, the check-in process was very slow. It took about 30 minutes. There was a line of people checking in. The hotel staff have a weird and outdated check-in process.

I liked that the hotel requires payment ahead, and one can pay just upon check in. Rooms have the basics and enough for a traveler like me who will just be spending overnight. I wish that the hotel will be able to provide free transport to and from the airport, as the fare is relatively expensive.
