The Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport City stands out for its welcoming atmosphere and clean, albeit small, rooms, as noted by numerous guests. Its prime location earns high praise, being conveniently close to the Newport Mall and NAIA Terminal 3, making it a favorite for those seeking easy airport access.
While the friendly staff and competitive pricing are often highlighted, some guests have encountered slow service and room maintenance issues. Nevertheless, the hotel's amenities, including a satisfying breakfast selection, contribute to its overall appeal for many travelers.

Detailed Reviews
This was my quarantine hotel for international traveling back into The Philippines. The free breakfast each day was a nice touch and it was quite well done. Eggs, rice, some choice of meat depending on what was available, a small amount of vegies or potatoes, 3 different breads, and a drink. I did ask for some salt and pepper for the eggs and rice are not salted at all. I was not told of the lounge of snacks available to me until I read the description, elsewhere. I didn't even know I was allowed out of the room. The room service was quite good. Their menu is somewhat limited, but for these troubled times, it was pretty good. Sometimes they didn't deliver exactly what I ordered but I blame that on the language barrier. Sometimes the Filipinos have trouble understanding Americans. They did drop off a case of bottled water, a pile of instant coffee, creamer, and sweetener. All of that is included in the stay. It was nice not to have to call everyday for more water, etc. The one thing that I would add that is somewhat important to know is that the hotel and restaurant cannot sell any alcohol up to the rooms. My advice is to get that before you leave the airport. Any chips or snacks should also be bought at the airport. Once you're in the hotel, it's kind of "what you came with is what you got." I figured I could pay someone to go out and get stuff for me. The front desk, as well as the restaurant said no. You are also not allowed to let anyone bring you items from home. No one is allowed into the hotel without the quarantine receipt and pass and such. Your Mom or wife can't bring you clean shirts or even a bottle of Emperador. It was explained to me that because of the pandemic, they don't want anything coming into the hotel that could contaminate the system, and I respect that. Overall, it was a pretty good experience and luckily, I had my laptop with me. The hotel TV channels are typical hotel type with many channels in different languages that are useless. I think there was only one sport channel. I'm sure this is just a pandemic version of this nice hotel. During regular, non-pandemic times the stay would more enjoyable, but for $46 a night, I really can't complain. I don't know how different that price changes during non-pandemic or peak season conditions. Peace.

Holiday inn express newport city Manila needs some improvement with its customer service.
They have the most expensive photo copying or printing I have seen anywhere in the world. They want 100 pesos ($1.2US) to print a single page. Simply go across to the business desk over in resort world to get your docs printed at 15 Peso per page rather then the excessive Holiday Inn prices 100 per page or 60 pesos to print a black-and-white to get something printed. Very poor.
The rooms are a reasonable size and the air conditioning is good, and the beds are comfortable, but they shower has mediocre water pressure, and the TV which has a poor selection or channels is not accessible to put a USB in to watch your own movies and you cant chromecast or mirrorcast anything to the screen to watch your own stuff which so outdated considering today's technology. So a poor option for TV and I was stuck with nothing to watch.
Housekeeping needs a lot of improvement by 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon my room was still not made up so I had to call and ask for someone to come and do it, however the next day after complaining they were much better and more prompt. A supervisor contacted me and asured me these issues would be addressed which was a professional response.

Stayed here for 2 days before my flight home. I had initially intended to do my 10 day quarantine here, but stayed at Sofitel instead. I'm incredibly glad I did. I pitty anyone having to stay here for 10 days, I would have gone mad.
Cleanliness is terrible:
First room they gave me had food stains on table, hairs all over bathroom and urine stains on toilet.
I called and told them, and was offered another room 1h later. They had just cleaned the table, toilet and removed any hair, but the shower was full of old soap stains. I pointed this out, and they asked what I wanted them to do about it, like I was being unreasonable. I said I just wanted a clean room.
They contacted the manager (Rowna) and told me to wait. 3h later I was given a room they said was "deep cleaned". It was cleaner, but shower still had soap stains higher up, presumably where they couldn't reach.
If they can't even clean surfaces, how can they say it is sanitary?
Internet is sloooow:
Could barely open an online newspaper. Forget about YouTube and streaming. Speed test shows 0.46mb/s. I asked about it, and they say it is "standard speed". They do not offer anything else, so it is the only option. Sofitel was 5-7mb/s.
Food options are very limited:
I have attached a picture of the menu. You cannot order from outside, so this is the only option for your 10 day stay. I had breakfast, which was cold chicken and rice, and a pizza for dinner, which was obviously a cheap frozen pizza. Atleast I didn't get sick.
10 days locked up in a room is bad enough, but it would have been a depressing experience here. I absolutely recommend anyone considering this place to go somewhere else.

Had an overnight stay while traveling in the Philippines. Hotel was quiet, comfortable and convenient to the airport. It is also very close to a shopping mall that has some good restaurants. It is definitely worth the reasonable room rate.

Great Service upon arrival from the Security Personnel who gathered your luggage and assisted with getting them to your room. This was a Red Eye arrival.
Front Desk Agent Ms. Jessica extremely friendly and professional upon checking, My career has been as a Director of Operations for Luxury Resorts so I have plenty of experience recruiting Top Talent for the properties that I have worked at and operated over the past 30 years. Great service from Ms. Rona as well.
Housekeeping very receptive to replenishing amenities in my room, for Food and Beverage I utilize for the Hotels Breakfast which was nutritious as a boxed meal delivered to your room.
Because of this quarantine I had to wait the Covid test results from the NAIA Airport which is required in order to enter the Philippines if you are coming from abroad. I have family here in the Philippines and was issued a Visa by the Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C.

When we stepped in, we knew it that hotel have a lots of improvement. No messy lobby and more sitting space. Restaurant also finished renovation which have more spacious area. We stayed here on early January and satisfied for the service. Rona and Katrina were helpful. Lastly, if hotel can ensure that the room is 100% clean, without any kind of insects found in the room would be perfect.

I had a 24 hour lay over and I did not want to be to far from the airport, since Manila traffic can be horrible. The hotel is a ten minute tax ride and what I like is they have a shuttle that can take you to the airport for free. The room I had was on the small side, but had everything you need in the room. The staff was very friendly and was able to accommodate my request.
They have free breakfast, but honestly it is just ok. I had breakfast at 6am and the eggs were cold and the rest of the food didn't look appealing. The hotel is next to a shopping center so I am sure there are a bunch of good food options around.
It I have another lay over in Manila, I would stay here again.

Check in at your own risk! This hotel does not value privacy. Their bathroom door doesn’t have a lock. It slides open when you’re doing your personal business. I addressed the issue to the hotel manager. She’s aware of the issue hit couldn’t do anything about it. Instead, i was asked to go to another hotel if I’m unhappy with the accommodation. Can you believe that!
Even cheap hotels in the Philippines have bathroom lock to provide privacy. The manager claims that all room in their hotel doesn’t have locks!
In addition, they do not provide toiletries. So you have to be prepared to bring your own personal stuff!
This is the cheapest hotel located in Newport City. Your money is wasted of you stay in this hotel.
Breakfast buffet not only have limited selection, but the quality of food is terrible. As if you’re eating paper and rubbish.
Never stay in this hotel!!

Dear Resort13703225461, We wish to extend our deepest apologies for any inconvenience and/or disappointment which you may have experienced during your brief stay with us. The privacy concerns you have mentioned due to lack of security lock in our bathroom door has been brought up to our management for review and rectification. We also provide a standard setup of toiletries in our rooms like shower cap, vanity kit, dental kit, laundry bag and slippers. These amenities are also available at the front desk upon request. The 2 in 1 shampoo and body wash will soon be replaced by bottled products and the quality of buffet breakfast in the restaurant has been relayed to our chefs. While we realize that your disinclination will most likely prevent you from giving us another chance to provide you with a better service, We hope that you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back. Sincerely, Holiday Inn Express Manila

This hotel is NOT worth the hassle! First of all, there are no doormen to help with your luggage. You are given airport style luggage carts that barely fit in the elevators. Unlike other hotels, where the security personnel at least open doors for you, you get the feeling you’re unwelcome. The reception staff are friendly, helpful, and mostly good at what they do. But the counters are understaffed at peak hours. The elevators are a problem, and half of the guests have issues with their keycards not working, in addition to them just plain being too small. The stairs do not allow you to re-enter on any level, which I found especially annoying and strange given the elevators are a glaring problem. Breakfast is like a feeding frenzy, and there’s no place to sit and the food is not replenished fast enough. MOST IMPORTANTLY, the wifi is the slowest of ANY hotel I’ve EVER stayed at. I cannot conduct the simplest business task here! Fortunately there’s a Starbucks across the street, but it’s nonsense that I should have to leave a $100/night hotel for, of all things, decent wifi!!!! Hotels in Manila really need to up their game!

No you cannot walk there. it is connected to the back of the airport location but there is no pedestrian access or vehicle across straight across to it. In fact, it ends up being a 20 minute drive around the perimeter of the airport due to the traffic volume and chaos in this area. You have to take a taxi (1000 pesos) and allow 20 minutes driving even though it is literally on the other side of the airport.
