Detailed Reviews
Stayed here several times, Great staff, they always kept the toilets clean. Last year, I was given a room next to a group of very noisy, loud, obnoxious Arab students, so much so that I felt intimidated. I reported this to staff, but was told that they have already reminded the students to tone their behaviour. The staff were helpless. They should have just kicked them out! Thankfully, I was only in Manila for 3 days. Never again!

Convenient location. Higher price but close to the airport. The room was decent and plenty of food options were nearby. Not much else to say, this place is pretty basic but convenient. Check-in process was smooth.

We checked-in at this hotel for overnight. The location is very near Ninoy Aquino International Airports - 1, 2 and 3 so it was our best choice given that our flight arrived late at night. It only took about 10 minutes to get to the area and when we arrived we were greeted with two hotel staff who were courteous to help us unload our luggage to the room. The hotel is equipped with IC-type of lock. The room is equipped with cable TV and aircon. Even the toilet and bath is shared within the floor, with the amount is a sure winner in terms of affordability. The hotel is also within a compound which houses a convenience store, and several restaurants which serve both Filipino and foreign food. You don't need to go out to dine in or buy something. It's just within the compound that's why it's so convenient and above all safe.

When i got to manila, i really didn't know where to stay, since I'm just gonna have a lay-over at manila for 2 days, i didn't want to spend much on accommodation, right in front of the Manila Domestic Airport is a plaza, i went there to have some breakfast, and saw Salem Domestic Guesthouse, i chatted a while with the owner who is very hands on, and he lives within the vicinity and offered me a room in his guesthouse. The guest house has four bedrooms, and shares a toilet. its quite cozy and nice, i like the fact that within the plaza, there is a Bar, some fast food and a convenient store. and i didn't have to worry about security as well. the owner is very hospitable and he also gave me tips on do's and dont's within manila. Thanks Salem Domestic Guesthouse and Thanks Mr. Mike Nocom for making my stay comfortable and nice. hope to see you soon.

The room was clean. The room is spacious. I got a room with a shared bathroom. Stayed there for 12 hours. I was perfectly rested before my flight. There are no room service in the hotel.
I checked out and walked less than 350 meters towards to the NAIA terminal 4

This Guest House is about a 5 minute walk from the Domestic Airport, across the street. Take the overpass walk way bridge.
It is directly across from a 24 hour Shakeys Pizza and many other places to eat nearby. This tells you that there is traffic in and out of the area all night and may get noisy if your room is on that side.
The front desk person was friendly. There seems to be NO security or very limited that we could see. The rooms are located up stairs that are also not secured or even part of the reception entrance area.
The rooms are simple, with one or two beds. Wi-Fi is there if it reaches. For us, one of the biggest draw backs to this place is the SHARED BATHROOM or CR. I am just not into it and brings issues of cleanliness into play. The room walls are paper thin and you can expect noise at night with people talking, coming or going or other things.
Rooms cost P1500 per night for 2, add P399 for a third person in your room. If you do NOT mind the shared bathroom, this is a better choice than the nearby Rogers Place which costs nearly twice as much. My other concern with this place is security and I advise you not to leave things in the room and to carry your valuables with you. For most people, including us, this is a crash pad and not a place to explore Manila from. Its closeness the airport is its only redeeming quality, making it easy and cheap to have a place to crash overnight while waiting for your connecting flight. You can find places in Makati for this same price or near to it with a full private room and private bath with better security.
Ask for a discount when you get there as this place is also infested with people in the area that were touts trying to bring us to this Guest House. This tells me someone is being paid a commission and if so, there may be room for a discount if no touts tag you. Ask for a discount if no tout follows you inside as they persistently tried to do with us even after we asked them to let us alone.

My family arrived at lunch time. Staff were accommodating guests ahead of us. We were very tired & the thought that it may take us a while to be accommodated but they were fast & very friendly. Rooms were clean & pleasant.
Location is very convenient because its just few minutes away from the airport and many restaurants within the complex.
My daughter left one of her belongings, yet it was kept & returned on our next visit.
We will surely be coming back!

This place is extremely close to terminal 4. So close where it would be pointless to take a cab because they would literally drive you like 50 feet and drop you off. Chances are you won't be flying into terminal 4 though and the 4 terminals at Manila airport are not connected to each other. I flew into terminal 1 and they have a airport shuttle bus that leaves every 30 minutes and drives between all terminals. The cost of this shuttle bus is only 20 pesos so it is the cheapest option. Once at terminal 4 simply walk over the overpass and towards the shakeys pizza which you will see on the shuttle bus over to terminal 4. Turn right as soon as you pass the quick mart and you will see it on the right side. There is just a little sign that you could probably walk by if you weren't looking for it.
The room I am in is about 6.6ft by 11ft if I had to guess so quite small but serves its purpose well. Air conditioning worked well and I actually had to turn it down because I was getting cold in the middle of the night. Like others have said walls are extremely thin so bring earplugs if random noise bothers you. Bathrooms are shared but that has been no problem and they were spotless clean when I was in them. The two workers I have encountered were very nice. There is a 100 peso deposit on your key which you get back when you turn it in. Wifi is free and works well enough. Not super fast by any means but gets the job done.
Overall this is a great place to stay if you want to stay close to the airport...I can't see anyone finding a better option for the price...I tried.

+1
After spending 24 hours in-flight and between flights, I needed a place to lay my head until morning and my trip up to Subic -- and the DG hotel served my needs comfortably,in a bare-bones fashion, at a bare-bones price.
Salem Complex is a skeevy-looking place after midnight, but it is guarded and secured, and the hotel takes up space in buildings on both sides of the access-road inside the gate. Its prime purpose seems to be as a love-hotel, and they had a big banner across the office window advertising a "Valentine's Special" - half-price on a 3-hour stay. My room was upstairs of a late-night beer bar, #5F -- and though the hallway leading to F-corridor was dirty and unkempt, inside it was scrupulously clean.
The room held nothing but a big queen-size bed at one end, and a flat-screen TV over a nightstand at the other end. There was barely room to slip up alongside the bed at the sides. The shared bathroom and shower were down the hall, and they were sparkling-clean as well. It reminded me a little of the capsule I'd taken, last trip, in the Wings Transit Lounge in NAIA Terminal 3 -- but the lights worked, the air-conditioning was cool, and there was floor-space inside for my luggage. And it had a locking door, unlike the pull-down curtains in the capsule-hotel.
It's bare-bones basic, but it's clean and comfortable, and that's enough for an overnight layover. I'll stay here next time I get in to Manila after midnight.
NOTE: Take a yellow taxi and tell the driver to use the meter. My ride was 231 pesos, if I remember correctly, but any driver will quote "500 pesos."
