This property is a hidden gem in not the best part of Manila. In fact, just to find the property is a challenge since there are no signs to find it, just the street number in front of a guarded gate to a enclave of homes. Once you find the building, it is a real surprise and looks beautiful especially how it is lit at night. The host and hostess are very friendly, helpful and a delight ... which really makes a visit worthwhile. The rooms and property is very clean with comfy beds. My TV was working to get signals and when it wouldn't work properly, they moved us (upgraded) to a king bed suite ... which was much appreciated. The only negatives are the kitchen closes at 6:30 for food and fancy drinks (only canned/bottled drinks after that time), no drinking water provided and towels are stiff (not soft). Worth considering especially if on a budget and looking for excellent value. Grab ride to the airport was PHP 303 (less than $6 USD).…
The room is clean, pillows, sheets, bed linens and towels are provided and really really clean. However, the bunk bed in shared female dorms are rather too low. It feels claustrophobic if you happen to be situated on the bottom bunk bed. The bed is also noisy and can wake others when i toss and turn around my bed. It may need to repair to stabalise it to prevent waking others. The microwave has not been cleaned and is dirty. The shared bathroom especially the sink is dirty. Otherwise the toilet and combined shower area are clean. On my first night, i had to shower with cold water then on my last day, they finally turned the hot water on when plenty more guests started to arrive and checked in. Bit cheeky really. Also, unfair considering the price i paid, i do not think this place is good value for money. I bought some crisps from the little tuck shop and noticed that it was expired. On the good side, the guest house is close to the market where you can drink fresh concentrated coconut juice for around a pound. The compound where the guest house is situated is secure and there are security guards on the gate to prevent random people walking in. The reception staff are nice and polite apart from an odd day when i was disturbed and woken up by one of the lady. They need to knock on the door before barging in the shared female dorm. However, there are building works being carried out during the day as it is still developing, the noise of hammering can disrupt your sleep, it may be worthwhile to go elsewhere if you need your sleep to recover from jet lag.…
I am writing this review because this inn is amazing! I am so impressed by the modern, Spanish interiors of the place. The service is also very satisfying. I am particularly commending the owner who actually made different arrangements for our accommodation since we also conducted a photoshoot there. The place is super photogenic and absolutely adorable. My only comment would be the bathroom in the other building needs an upgrade and improvement. Other than that, the place feels like home. One of my companions even said during breakfast in the veranda that it feels like we were far away from the metro despite not leaving the city. That in itself is a good treat.
This guest house is located within a gated housing community that is in a very busy and very run down area of Manila. The hotel itself is average at best. But the location is not good. Walking outside the gate can be risky. The bed we had is very large, but not comfortable. Too hard for my taste. They didn’t even provide a blanket. Had to ask for that. No hot water was available in the bathroom sink; only the shower. The internet connection was very good and the staff quite friendly and helpful. Just down the street from the gate is a little diner that’s pretty nice called the Starlight Diner. Recommend going there for breakfast vice eating at this guest house. Cheaper.
Located in a private development this cute little B&B offers the perfect budget package. Staff delightful, helpful and engaging. Rooms clean and TV has many news and movie channels. Shower is hot, not luke warm like many B&Bs so that is a positive. Food menu caters to local as well as non philippine tastes... you can have fried garlic rice or fish and chips... breakfast choices are healthy or hearty with a version of British Big Breaky... There is also a computer in reception with good internet... and a fridge stocked with drinks at 7-ELEVEN prices... Wifi in rooms has a strong signal if you want to watch movies on netflix or youtube. Would I return... YES YES YES
I rarely write reviews, but had too for this property to assist others with choices in manila. They have multiple room choices with 'private' rooms on top floor ( 6 rooms total), and shared dormitories on bottom floor. I travelled as a couple and booked their King Room for 5 nights. **I regretted booking this property the moment I stepped into the doors. Because this was a prepaid room I would not be able to get refund and stay elsewhere** Pros: If you need to be in this specific street and area, convenient. Safe hotel ( was not worried about crime etc while inside room). Security guard present for entry into this private street, Family owned and run business Room Service for Food is reasonably priced ( 200-400 pesos per person/ 4-6 USD), but also con Cons: Noisy environment with NO noise insulation at all. ( We could here dogs barking, neighbors from almost every other room either talking/doing the 'dirty'/ showering,/ etc, doors closing and opening loudlyat all hours, children playing basketball right next to property until late hours and early hours.) Food of low quality, and super small sizing. Confirmed by my girlfriend who is Filipino. Mold in bathroom- along sink and elsewhere. Dust throughout room. Did not make up my room even one time in 5 nights ( even though please make up room sign was on door clearly). Staff never smiled during our entire visit. Not sure why- we are quiet and respectful guests. Room small, moldy and smelly. Probably because there is open window to outside in connecting restroom and they do not keep air conditioner on when room is empty. Walked into room with high humidity and smell. Overall takeaway: Value is not present. Very expensive for private rooms when considering the price, size, and serviced offered. I would Never stay at this hotel again.…
Absolutely comfortable. So comfortable that it'll feel like it's you're in your own home. The place is really really beautiful. The staff of the Guesthouse are really kind, and so is the owner. She comes by often and never fails to give us a happy and genuine smile. The rooms are as comfortable as the the place itself. Surely coming back!
They give a very good customer service and the place is a very chill and fun place to stay and the owners are very kind :) we were able to play basketball and table tennis without charges, and the food they made was tasty.
We booked as a group, like 20 plus of us from Cebu City, since we attended a National Student Convention held at Cuneta Astrodome. We stayed for 9 days and the place is really perfect for our stay. Ma'am Marites and Sir George, the owners were very kind and extraordinarily accommodating, their kids are very courteous too. When we arrived at the airport Ma'am Tes arranged everything for us from transpo to the reception area, their service is really superb. In fact, the owners themselves picked us up from the airport to the guesthouse and made sure everything was okay when we checked in. We were so surprised that the owner herself drove us and became our instant tour guide while we were on our way to the guesthouse. Our first-time students to travel in Manila enjoyed the quick tour info about Pasay and Manila. What made our students very happy were the free Basketball half court, Badminton court and the Table Tennis area plus a match with Sir George. They also learned that Ma'am Tes, was once part of Philippine Team in Table Tennis from UST. And the students said they were very awesome and guess what, our players did not win any match with Sir George. Every time we go to the convention area Ms Lyn- the receptionist always arranged the ride for us from a tricycle to Uber and Grab cars, just let her know and she'll take care of you. Ronald and Christy- their crew were always smiling and very helpful. We even asked them to do some extra work and then you don't see any complaint from their facial expressions. Every day they made sure our breakfast was ready before we leave the place and every night even in the middle of the night Ms Lyn was still all smiles and ready to help especially when we arrived tired and sleepy. By the way, their spamsilog and longsilog and mixed veggies were scrumptious. Thanks to Cristy's mom for preparing our meals with love and name tags every morning. This place is very child-friendly aside from the friendly neighbors whom our students played basketball with plus our girls had a chance to cuddle and took pictures of the dogs in the other house. The guards are very courteous and helpful too.Oh, how can I forget about the fries and siopao Ma'am Tes cooked and prepared for our students. Where else can you find that? Isn't it amazing? Surely, we will never experience that in other B&Bs even in 5-star hotels. Also, if you want to go to MOA (Mall of Asia), Baclaran, Divisoria Park Avenue Guesthouse location is very favorable. You'll reach the LRT-Libertad station in 5 mins. when you take a tricycle or taxi and 10-15 mins when you walk.MOA is like 15 mins. away, Star City 15-20 mins.away on taxi cabs, Uber or Grab cars. The place is very cozy. I like the idea of restoring and preserving a 1920s house. This guesthouse is one of the examples of Filipino tradition "Bayanihan" (The term Bayanihan itself literally means “being in a bayan”, which refers to the spirit of communal unity, work and cooperation to achieve a particular goal) when this was transferred a long time ago from one to place to the place where it is now. The lower ground hallway displays pictures of the old Pasay City, Manila Airport now (NAIA) and the old model of a PAL airplane. Oops! don't get me wrong, the atmosphere here is not the typical ancestral house that will give you chills, and spooky feel, in fact, the aura is very light and not heavy even with Halloween decor. The veranda and the tree is my favorite spot. The birdhouses and the lights give a county effect plus the soothing music. You can become an instant poet sitting here. It's very quiet as if you're how many hours away from Metro Manila. What else can I say? I ran out of words to describe this place. Why not experience it yourself whether in group, family, friends or all by yourself. You will surely be blown away with their tender loving service and family-like treatment. It's like heaven sent. Blessings & Von Voyage!…
I love this place, it gives you a feeling like you're back in the Spanish era but with modern amenities around you. The people at the property were all so nice and helpful. It is inside a private compound which means you are secured. There is also a parking area beside the guesthouse and all of these for a very reasonable price. For some people who're not familiar with the area like us, it is a little difficult to locate. Even the taxi drivers or some residents in the area did not know anything about the place or its location. maybe because it is still new.
