It’s been several months since I had a staycation because of the pandamic. Fortunately, there are some hotels open for leisure like Edsa Shangri-la. They only need you to have a swab test 24 hours prior check-in. For your convenience, they offer the test located at Chi Spa (right next to the hotel) at ₱1,800 nett THINGS THAT I LIKED: 1. Staff - All of them were very polite and accommodating. All of them are alert with your needs. They seem to be proactive. Irene, the receptionist who assisted us, was very courteous and enthusiastic to give all the details we need for our stay. She even took the liberty to book our swimming schedule. 2. Room - It’s been a while since I went here. I think it was more than a decade ago. The room looked different, it seems it was newly renovated. Bed is super comfortable, it has smart TV, kettle, utensils, plate, glasses, mugs, wine glasses, coffee and tea. It has a comfortable couch, coffee table, office chair and desk. Because of the pandemic, they also added alcohol spray and face mask kit. 3. Bathroom - Although, it doesn’t have a bathtub but it was still spacious and clean. It’s also appropriate for senior and handicapped because the shower area has a place were the persob can sit comfortably while bathing. 4. Location - The is a bridge (they call it a lift) going to Shangri-la Mall. It is also walking distance to SM Megamall. 5. Pool - It was beautiful and clean. There were so many amenities for kids that they’ll definitely enjoy. 6. Check in and out - Currently, they have a promo where you get to check-in as early as 8am and check-out as late as 6pm the next day. Both check in and out were a breeze. THINGS I LEAST LIKED: Actually, it was just one item...their breakfast buffet. I expected more because as I recall, their breakfast buffet was really good. They have a lot of breads, jams, spreads, and cheeses but now, very minimal. They even have different drinks aside from the typical they serve. I think they have fruit shakes before. I liked their Christmas roll (forgot what’s it called) though. It’s like a fruit cake but bread and it’s covered with chocolate on top. I liked their Pork Asado with fried rice. I liked their brewed coffee (you get to have your own pot) and fresh orange juice. I liked their fresh fruits because it’s sweet. Overall, I enjoyed our stay because they follow safety protocols therefore it felt safe. There were less people. Going / using private amenities were controlled. I think I want to go back there on new year.…
In this scary time of Covid-19, staff have maintained to be cordial, polite but in control to introduce to clients their own procedure to screen guests during registration. The maintenance of the facilities has been consistent. This has been a part of our organization’s convention since its construction but the hotel has maintained its class throughout the years!
Room is spacious, hotel is big and near SM mall. Very convenient. Room amenities is adequate and service is good. Didn’t use the pool. Gym is ok, has quite a lot of equipments. Breakfast selection is good, just that I find the taste is too salty. But this is expected in Philippines. Coffee is not fantastic though.
We had a great time during our stay, the food was good and there were a lot of choices to choose from. The massage at the Chi Spa was worth every minute of it. We will definitely come back for a longer stay.
Relaxing by the pool, sipping delicious fruit juice gave me a feeling of being in a tropical paradise despite staying being in the middle of a bustling city. The room was spacious and clean. I also enjoyed going to the gym and the spa. The buffet breakfast had all kinds of foods imaginable. The staff are helpful and friendly. I recommend this hotel.
