Located in the heart of the city, the City Garden Grand Hotel garners praise for its central location, with many guests enjoying the proximity to shopping and entertainment venues. While the hotel boasts a vibrant rooftop and a warm lobby atmosphere, some visitors find the music overpowering and the rooms in need of an update. The staff generally receives accolades for their service, though not without some reported lapses. Cleanliness stands out as a strong point, with numerous guests commending the immaculate conditions. Reviews on the rooms are mixed, with comments on their spaciousness as well as some maintenance concerns. I booked a few nights at this hotel in Makati to see my girlfriend in Feb— spent a lot of time researching location, local amenities, reviews and options available to guests, as it was the first time for me staying at a hotel in Manila. We discussed different hotels but concluded that this hotel is the best based on what we are looking for and where. I made a reservation through Amex Travel months the in advance. A while later I decided to change rooms whereby staff politely accommodated my request through email correspondence. Upon arrival at the hotel I was received by a beautiful lobby and a smartly-dressed reception who speak good English, got my card and went up to my suite. Our room was immaculate and had a great view of the Makati skyline and for those who enjoy admiring city lights and traffic at night from a height— a handsome room, very clean and well groomed, availability of tea, coffee, water as guests would rightly expect. Shower and bath has hot water available, sink area well supplied with complementary toiletries. Food was good, where traditional Filipino and Western dishes are a tad more special than what I found in other hotels. There is a pool and bar/resto on the top floor. We had our food on the 7thRoom service staff are very attentive warm and professional and paid special attention to our consumables. Checkout was smooth. Our experience here exceeded standards expected of hotels not in big global hotel groups and chains and is right up there with them from my experience of travelling for business and leisure in Europe. My first hotel experience in Manila turned out superb indeed. This is amongst the finest hotels I have been a guest at. We look forward to staying here again.

We got a one king size bed deluxe room for a cheaper prize. It was clean well maintained and smells good. We were near the fire exits which I prefer also. Having kids with me the staff were always always mindful of our safety and security. The hotel is very conscious and eco friendly by using paper straws or non at all, providing water refilling stations, glass bottle INLAD for our water which is ideal. Staff are very courteous, pretty and smiling. I love the idea of putting small information every corner of the rooms. Plus! We love the latte coffee! It was to die for actually!!! Take note We’ve been upgraded after knowing that we have kids with us for our extended stay which made us all comfortable and happy!!! I would highly recommend it!!! Ten thumbs up! Thank you! Til our next family and friends staycation!

In the bustling city of Makati, you will find this property in one of the most dense part of the city. One of the main reasons to stay here is due their roof top bar and restaurant called Firefly located on the 32nd floor where you will get a skyline view of Makati. Parking is difficult so be prepared, but if you can be dropped off, that would be ideal.

The Front Desk was very friendly and professional. Check-in took a little longer due to my breakfast questions (see below). They even brought up the flowers I had ordered in advance for my Mom. Thanks!

The top 4 floors have large 1 bedroom suites complete with a large fridge, microwave, coffee maker, plates and utensils. There is also a a large living room, table, business desk, and 1.5 bathrooms. The master bathroom is large and contains a bathtub with a good rain shower. When you select a room, try to request the same city view as the roof top bar and restaurant.

The pool is located at the 32nd floor and is beside the restaurant facing another building. There were plenty of kids swimming during the afternoon, but hardly anyone in the morning. Food at the restaurant had a good selection of American and Filipino food, and the Chicken Inasal was very tasty. Night time view at the restaurant was breathtaking and is definitely better than day time. You’ll find a lot of romantic couples during late afternoon sunsets.

You can purchase breakfast as part of your reservation, however the buffet is located at the 7th floor vs. the 32nd. The buffet was extensive with many selections of American, Chinese, and Filipino food. If you prefer the view on the 32nd floor, then do not include breakfast as part of your reservations. You can order breakfast ala cart on the 32nd floor. Unlike dinner time, getting a table with a view is not difficult because it is less busy during the morning.

Overall a great stay and experience and I would definitely stay here again if I get the chance.

Good:
Excellent location. Very near restaurants, shopping malls, massage spas, coffee shops, 7-11. Easily accessible by city transportation like Grab. Along the intersection of two main city thoroughfares. Comfortable bed and pillows. Functioning air conditioning system. Fast check in and check out. Very courteous staff (housekeeping guy at the 23rd floor during day duty - Vincent, reception, duty manager - Marga).

Bad:
Very slow elevators. Very long waiting time for our food to arrive, more than 30 minutes, for just one cup of rice and one order of salmon sinigang (main restaurant 7th floor), and there were only few guests during that time. Very slow response of guest services to a request for TV remote control (more than 1 hour). One evening, a housekeeping staff knocked on our door and pressed on our doorbell despite that the “do not disturb” light was on.

Dear Fgmoria Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for noticing our central location, comfortable room and amenities as well as swift check in and check out and staff services particularly from your housekeeper Vincent and manager Margarette. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it is apparent that in this case we fell short owing to waiting time for elevators, food serving and response to requests. If you give us the chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of. We look forward to your next visit in the near future. Always at your service, Mirro Reperuga

Stayed for 3 days for the quarantine process. The hotel is located in a central location with a lot of restaurants and convenient stores near by, there is also a mall within walking distance and Greenbelt mall is a few blocks down the street, probably a few minutes by cab. The hotel is nice and takes the cleanliness seriously which is great considering the current situation. My room was also very quiet, even though it is in a central location I wasn't able to hear any traffic and was able to get some good sleep. The curtains block out sunlight so that's great for people with jet lag. Margarette the manager ensured that all my questions were answered and was able to supply anything that I needed. She made checking in/out very easy and is also extremely friendly and approachable.

Very accommodating even though the hotel is a quarantine facility. The front desk staff informed me that since I am a quarantine guest, I am only allowed to stay in my room and if I needed something I just need to call “0” on my telephone. They help me at printing and scanning my documents needed at work which is really helpful for me. The front desk staff even initiated and asked me if there were restrictions or allergies to certain food for the preparation of the meals provided during my stay, which i find very nice. I will definitely coming back on this hotel once the pandemic ends. Thank you to the whole team!

Review 3 of 7 in August was an international one. When you finally cross borders after three years, there is a demand for shopping that is a must do. Since I was arriving on a weekend, looked for an option that would be on the personal dime and near the Ayala Greenbelt malls which was a great spread-out shopping location. Settled on the City Grand which was the affordable one though about 3 kms away.
The City Grand has an approach from both Makati Avenue and Kalayaan avenue. Arrived and took some time to get a room as they did not have smoking rooms. One of the reception staff (Think it was Jili or Gini) took the pains to speak to the manager and get a room that was under service ready for use. Great customer service in my opinion.
Room was on the cornet with a view of both avenues. It was quite spacious with a bath tub and all necessary amenities as well including a work desk. The property was however showing its age with wear and tear in the room furniture
One grouse was that they had one of the elevators down for a long time (couple of weeks already it seems) which they communicated. Hence, only two functional elevators meant queues in peak hours.
Breakfast spread was amazing and the restaurant was quite spacious. They had the usual spread of Chinese, continental, Filipino and fruits. It started at 6am and the service was quite prompt.
There are plenty of convenience stores and restaurants in the vicinity though getting a cab may be a hassle. Century mall is right next door if you wish to do some immediate shopping.

Went there in December 2019 on my first date with an amazing girl. The place is on the roof high up at the hotel, the kitchen is open and you can se what they making, price is okej and food quality is great. We fell in love and now month after we are a couple.

The second time i was there i come with a friend who was about to propose to his future wife, the staff make it so wonderful, was so helpfull and played lovely music and bring cake with the rings on, one was saying "Will you marry me?" and when she said "Yes" the second cake come in and it says "Yesss.." Everyone was happy and it really lifted the spirit of the place...

Special thanks to the supervisor EDWARD and the waitress JASMINE that make two of my nights in Philippine so verry special. Much love to you both...

Stayed here with my partner and we both enjoyed the service. The staff went out of their way to help. The breakfast, firefly roofdeck bar/restaurant, roofdeck pool, gym and spa, all added to the ambience of this hotel! Will look to book again when i'm back in Makati in 2023. It's situated next door to a shopping mall we'd both walk to (5 min walk), plus near Greenbelt Mall (Grab ride). Also was a 2 min walk to club ' Royal' where we celebrated y girlfriends birthday with 30 of our family/friends! The only one downside being my electric toothbrush disappeared after the room was cleaned/made up. When i raised this, they didn't come up with a solution, so that soured my stay a bit. Will put my toothbrush in the room safe the next time i'm there.

I Certainly didnt experience any sanitary conditions that werent of a high standard compared to anywhere else in The Philippines. The Rooftop at the City Garden Grand has a great atmosphere, great food and top service. The hotel was as good and probably the best that i stayed in - and i stayed in five during my 10 days there. It is in a busy area of the city and the traffic is dangerous, but it adds to the atmosphere in its own way. Makati City is noisy, busy and frustratinly slow but an absolute 'must see' IMHO. If you are a single male do not expect to leave the hotel in the evening without being accosted in the first 100 metres - just sayin! For those who don't speak Tagalog or 'car-horn beep' English will get you by quite well. :)
