The hotel is slightly luxurious. It is located in front of Little Tokyo and very convenient. The price of the room is quite expensive if you do not have a special discount for corporations or others, but with discount, the price goes down nearly half. I recommend here only if you have this kind of discount.
Stayed here on our first 2 nights in Manila. I was disappointed it didn't have more activity around the hotel. There is a great local shopping centre within easy walking distance. The room we had was a suite as there was only a few rooms left. The room was very spacious but dated. There was free internet but coverage was not the best and did not cover the whole suite. The roof outdoor pool was great and enjoyed many swims in our 2 days stay.
For anyone who regularly travels, the critical moment in any hotel stay comes when you are shown to your room. Probably the best tactic is to ask to see the room first if you have had bad experiences. I should have but did not! We were taken to the floor of our room and when the lift doors opened, the air was full of dust and the air was thick with solvent such as glue for flooring -- renovations were in full swing. In moment it took to reach the room door, it was almost impossible to breath and clear that the smell would permeate into all the rooms. So back to the desk. Apologies all round but a room of similar rating as we paid for was unavailable and they were heavily booked. So, for the first time in my life I was downgraded for one night. Room was comfy and clean but…
The hotel was clean but the furnitures lilttle bit old. And the wifi connection was bad so the price was too expensive . But the staff was really friendly and helpfull, but unfortunately, the front desk gave us the wrong information about the number of the terminal for our flight. We only stayed for two nights, but there was not so much to see around the hotel.
Stayed here 2 nights for business trip. Basically majority of the residents were Japanese. There's so called "Little Tokyo" for the area near this hotel. The room condition is clean but just a bit old. The air condition is quite "antique", which mounted onto wall and quite annoying sound especially at night. Due to the hotel located just by the main road, you can hear the vehicle sounds at busy hours. Breakfast is not buffet style but with sufficient choices of local, eastern and western styles. This hotel could be a good choice for short business trip. For leisure, maybe it is not the best choice.
Herald Suites is a pretty decent hotel frequented by Japanese. I stayed here for a conference and there was nothing much to complain except for the wifi signal. I love the pool area at the roof deck and the bar. The staffs were also great, they were friendly and accommodating.
First impressions of this hotel were not too good. The decor makes it seem rather dingy (though it's clean) and the bathroom was small. However, we stayed for five nights, and with a bit of practice we quite liked the place. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was OK but would benefit from a partial buffet provision. The hotel is on a busy street, not the best part of Makati, and opposite "Little Tokyo". This means there are a good few Japanese restaurants round about, and it perhaps explains why the hotel seems popular with Japanese guests.
I stayed here as I had an early flight the next morning. The staff provided me breakfast on the go. A pleasant surprise. The room is outdated but great location as it is walking distance to green belt for restaurant and shopping. A cheap hotel for one night.
Stayed for one night. The hotel is outdated PROS: Near the business district Quiet rooms. improved sleep quality CONS: Toiletries breakfast is not buffet and you have very few options outdated furniture TV reception is not clear Staff declined to provide me with additional complimentary water
Stayed at Herald Suites twice (flying in/out of Manila). Good location compared to airport and also walking distance to green belt (resturant and shopping area). Nice Hotel, good, clean and large rooms and friendly staff. Paid 3300PHP/Night (incl taxes) which is very reasonable; and would choose the hotel again if going to Manila.
