Detailed Reviews
This hotel felt quite exclusive, located in the centre of Makati but within an easy walk of malls. The staff were 100% excellent. The room on the 28th floor had a fantastic view, but was a bit tired. We used the hotel airport collection service, which at first sight seems expensive, but we felt safe as we had previously been inconvenienced by a Manila taxi driver, who took us to the wrong location missing a hospital appointment and paying a fortune.

I stayed here for 3 nights over the Lunar New Year holiday, via Agoda. About 10k JPY/night.
I don't know much about Makati, but GreenBelt and Glorietta are within walking distance, so I think the location is not bad. The size of the room and the amenities are more than worth the price. Reasonable price considering breakfast included. There is a Lawson on the premises, which is convenient. There is a large water absorber in the room, so you can drink water at room temperature for no extra charge (of course, there is a refrigerator, so you can transfer it to a separate container to cool it). There is also a free coffee and tea kit, toothbrushes, etc. available. The bathtub is not narrow and is slippery, but there is an anti-slip sheet, so it is not a problem.
There is only one problem. The wifi is unstable. If you connect three or four devices at the same time to work or kill time, at the worst, even the roughest YouTube video will be choppy. However, depending on the time, the connection is sometimes fast, so I think it is probably a capacity issue. If I complained, it might have improved, but it was a bit disappointing for this price range. Is there a three-package, and is it paid? It might be different if you choose a higher-quality one, but for this price range, I would like it to be always connected smoothly even if it's free.
I gave it a 3 because it's a special style that prioritizes wifi, but if the wifi gets better, I'd give it a 5. Also, if you're planning on going out and can ignore the wifi, or if you can get wifi separately with a PokeFi or something, I think it's a good choice.
A distinctive feature is the free breakfast, as mentioned above. You can choose one main dish and have about 20 types of rice, meat, soup, vegetables, bread, cake, fruit, etc. at the buffet. I chose the big breakfast, ham steak, and corned beef as my main dishes, and they were all good for free. I also like the style of them serving coffee/tea within a few seconds of sitting down. For a 3-night stay, the buffet has a high daily rate and is satisfying. As mentioned above, rice is available, so I don't recommend choosing rice or pancakes as your main dish. It's also nice that they have daily juices, milk, and detox water.
The staff at reception and restaurant are also very friendly (although their English is so good that it's a bit difficult to keep up). I don't know why, but for some reason there are only English and Japanese signs everywhere, which I'm glad about as a Japanese person whose presence is declining. Housekeeping also came every day to ask if I needed anything, even though I wasn't told. I've always looked at them sideways in Thailand and Vietnam, but this was my first time trying them out, and apart from the wifi there were no issues, and the facilities and service were of a ☆☆☆☆ to ☆☆☆☆☆ class.

My family and I stayed in Makati four nights, five days. The hotel staff was friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable of area. I especially liked the close location to Greenbelt Mall. The complimentary breakfast was more than just bagels/croissants. It was a full buffet with variety of foods/drinks each day. Additionally, you had the option to order something from the menu which was complimentary as well. The only slight downside was the Spa was not located inside the hotel, but next door. Not such a big deal, but we were unaware and we had our appt the day we arrived. So it was late at 9pm. Recommend earlier appointments or there’s option to have massage in your room.

Stayed here multiple times and would love to go back again. You get your money's worth with the service and the size of the room. Each room has a bath tub, if you're into that :)
Also love their swimming pool and billiards area, and the privacy the area offers.
It's also near Greenbelt (mall) and public parks.
Would recommend just improving the breakfast menu (or rather the quality) so guests will get their money's worth more ;)
Would also recommend looking into having a heater for the swimming pool so it's not too cold sometimes.

The room was spacious and clean, and I had a comfortable stay. The only drawback was that the Wi-Fi was a little weak, and I had to move closer to the door of the room before I could connect to Skype. The shower had hot water and a sufficient amount of water. The staff were very kind, especially at the time of check-in. It was nice that they had a tank water server instead of bottled water, which was environmentally friendly.

Its an Amazingly Inviting Hotel wherein everyone is competing to make your stay more comfortable. The Doorman to the Concierge to the restaurant Manager to the Reception staff to as high as a position of the Operations Manager, all have been blended with the syrup titled "Guest is God " as we say in India Atithi Devo Bhava.
Ask for anything that they dont have and they will go out of the way to ensure that you get it.
Food for vegetarians is quite a challenge in Manila but come to Somerset and they will do all they can to serve a vegetarian delicacy. A first hand experience was at dinner when we asked for Thai Vegetarian Curry and Dex the chef went out of the way to prepare one in the Filipino style and it turned out to be Superb.
Lawrence Diago or Yen as he is called has no airs about his position and will help you to the best of his ability. Russell the restaurant manager will serve you breakfast even after the stipulated time with a smile and no sign of irritation. The entire Hotel has mugged the first and last word of the Hospitality Trade which is "COURTESY"
Indians must patronise this Hotel and the Hotel also should cater to the Indian market by enlarging its vegetarian spread.
As an award winning Tour Operator I would rate this Hotel as 4.8 out of 5

We recently stayed to celebrate a birthday. Rooms are very spacious and clean with good temperature. Kitchen appliances are complete and we have water inside courtesy of hotel. The only downside is while we are in the middle of cooking our food the power did fluctuate more than once. We reported to engineering and we were assisted right away. It's just that it wasn't resolved and we had to take another room (same floor) to continue cooking.

+1
Liked this hotel from the get go. FD staff very professional in approach. Security detail looks very serious. Lobby nicely decorated but quaint and not that expensive. My one bedroom executive was just one needed for an extra space. Liked the amenities from the kitchen to the toiletries. Bidet , bathtub and dispenser for shampoo and body wash , and everything else. Swimming pool and a fitness centre. Now for my constructive criticism. The suite doesnt seem to cool enough. Is it because its somewhat dated compared to Somerset Central Grand which is the latest ASR to open. Location is walkable but can strenous going to Salcedo market and Greenbelt area considering the smothering heat. Anyways there is Grab. Wifi looks fast but gets errratic several times. Breakfast at Abuela , gives an experience expected of a 3-4 star hotels. A buffet of starters , then pick one dish from s select menu.

Our room was very neat and comfortable. The kitchenette had everything we need. The place was very near to commercial establishments. The staff members were all friendly.
Breakfast was filling and tasty as well. One of the staff members overheard it was my son's birthday and came out with a small lighted birthday cake while singing the birthday song. Such a sweet gesture.

Stayed here as it was reasonably priced and not too far from the airport.
As mentioned in other reviews the hotel is of a decent standard but it is the staff that earn it a five star rating. They are so keen to ensure your stay is perfect and that kind of service is not always easy to find.
The room and bed were comfortable with decent air conditioning, and the amenities were superb. The location is also a plus, as it is walking distance to the big shopping mall and night spots. Thoroughly recommended.

Depends on the rate you pick.
We found the cheapest rate required paying in advance but no refund if we cancelled all the way to a "cancel anytime option". However the price difference is significant. For us it was 5000 PHP. Their website clearly explains the options when you book.
