Booked for wedding preparations. Makati Palace Hotel has very good customer service. Staff is responsive and easy to talk to. Additionally, rooms are spacious given the mid-level price range of the rooms.

Bed is huge + the couch, bathroom is good esp the hot shower, security is tight, and staffs are friendly as well. However, we found 2 dead roaches. You can have the cleanest hotel room ever and still have a roach problem.

When you look at the reviews it is very strange to see so many negative comments. The managements robotic response demonstrate a lack of individuality for each complaint. The hotel is situated within Makati Red light district, certainly not suitable for children as the hookers will approach anyone with a pulse and $$$”s. The reception staff are sterile and clearly do not enjoy their jobs or do t like humans lol. Door staff slightly friendlier but obviously hunting tips so pays to play the game. The hotel is old n noisy, depending on the rate charged is passable. I would suggest no more than Php2000 for a double should be paid or you may as well book Red Planet which is round the corner and a better standard. The in house restaurant is over priced and it seems the majority of waiters are dopey. You order a coffee, they forget the milk, then forget sugar then forget a spoon , so better write down your order in full with all requirements like sugar and spoons and ask then to tick it off the list. Amazes me that majority of hotel staff attend a Hotel Resort and Management Diploma / Degree course before appoint which is a two year course but they still have no common sense???? I suggest to management to forget Degree applicants as not worth the paper written on and better take uneducated individuals whom have common sense and want to learn. Give the under privileged an opportunity as you might find better staff standards. Would I stay again? If cheap deal and have no expectations other than a bed and locations. A change of management is needed as clearly staff are lead by example and pretty poor for a city Centre hotel. Now anticipate a robotic response from a manager rather than put hands up and admit failings...

I booked 3 nights at Makati Palace Hotel sometime around June. Unfortunately my flight got cancelled and I emailed the hotel of this. I booked the room through hotels.com and the hotels.com CS were very helpful and patient and they negotiated with the hotel to give me even 2 days back. Unfortunately they tagged it as no-show and would not refund me at all. This is pure BS and very bad customer service. If they refunded me my money they would have made so much more by gaining a customer for life. They just lost a customer, and guess what, this customer is even telling other people to NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Appalling.
