Blown away by how friendly the staff are, they go out of their way to help you wherever possible, without being too over the top! Enjoyed our stay here, great location... Close walk to mall and restaurants, and cheap taxis from airport and other main attractions. Thanks for a lovey stay :)

Was in Manila for business, however budget was limited. Found this place on TripAdvisor with a decent review and a good price, didn't think twice and have my reservation confirmed. The entire experience during my stay here was unremarkable, yet pretty average, nothing spectacular, nor does it failed me in any major way.

Bottom line is, if you're travelling to Manila, needed to stay in Makati and is limited on Budget, do give this place a try.

Location:

This is one of the upside about this place. Located next to Rockwell center, one of the most prestigious residential and shopping complex in metro Manila, most taxi drivers will atleast know how to drive near to the hotel (if you've ever experienced the Manila Taxi, you'll understand). You can also walk there if you wish, where it has a number of shops and restaurant to choose from.

The surrounding area is very quiet at night as the hotel is located no where near main roads, it is good for a quiet night sleep.

Security:

The hotel itself seems to be alright, but this is Manila after all, precaution is always useful.

Services:

It is probably the only thing that this place stands out from the others. Service was good, staffs were generally cheerful and energetic, helpful most of the time. There was some problem with the pumping system in the room that I was originally assigned, they immediately upgraded me to the top floor loft, which was actually pretty nice.

Call for help was responded promptly and always got the problem fixed.

Dinning:

Free breakfast should be included in your rate, it is the standard continental breakfast that every where else serves, nothing special about it. I'm not aware of Lunch or Dinner Service here.

Rooms and Facilities:

Free WIFI is across the hotel, but weak signal in certain area, and almost impossible to connect to during peak hours; and there wasn't really any other facilities as this place mainly cater to budget business traveler, which I can understand.

As I've got upgraded to the top floor Loft, the room was spacious with a trendy renovation. The room was divided into 2 floors, where the bed sits on the top floor, which everything else is downstairs. The room was properly clean and in alright condition, the only downside was all these holes on their bedding, can't you just buy new ones?

Bottom Line: Recommended, if you're on a budget and you don't care much about facilities.

Hotel is very near Power Plant Mall and is so convenient going to and from that location. Hotel staff are most friendly and accommodating. I've arranged for 6:30am breakfast and they were very prompt to ring me at 625am saying our meal is ready. Rooms have just enough space in them, with the basic amenities, well functioning aircon and with clean room floors and toilet. The downside is that the hotel does not use its in-building parking facility because it was made too narrow and too steep. It was a must requirement when I searched for a place to book so I was disappointed when we were asked to leave our vehicle outside on the narrow street. I had a good and restful sleep at night but it might help to know for daytime sleepers that the hotel is across a school building. Could also be better if the towels and sheets had a nice, freshly laundered smell to them. They smelled like damp fabric forced to dry. Cable tv channels were also limited.

Palm Rock Residences is an absolute no go when in Manila. The hotel is under renovation (read besides your room there are no other facilities in the hotel) and nothing is mentioned to their guests. We booked the room including breakfast but there is no restaurant and kitchen in the hotel. The reception orders breakfast from outside and this is taking more than one hour! Since we had a tour booked we missed our first day breakfast and the manager refused to compensate us for this inconvenience. The second day we ordered fried eggs and scrambled eggs which arrived cold, and looking at the photo attached it was only one egg per person for three pieces of toast! Furthermore the strangest scrambled eggs ever seen. At check out we asked to speak to the manager ourselves so the receptionist called him, he did not want to speak to us over the phone and said that we could wait for one hour untill he was back. Obviously we couldnt since we had a flight to catch and we ended up being really disappointed that he didnt want to listen to our feedback. If you are just looking for a hotel to sleep and shower this is an ok but expensive place to stay, but dont expect any service or other facilities!

Very clean rooms, extremely friendly staff, great value for the price. Will be returning to stay here next time in Manila. Newish hotel, in a nice location and the taxi drivers didn't have too much difficulty locating.

Fairly new hotel in Makati. Abt 500m to Power Plant & approx. 1.5km to P.Burgos street. Very well furnished rooms. Very clean & new!. Bathroom is a little small but all e rest are excellent. It's in a residential area behind Power Plant in Palma Ave/St. Just turn to Rockwell Ave upon junction of Power Plant & head straight up till around e 2nd lane on e right(Palma Ave/St). Turn in here & head straight down till u see it on yr left. Rooms are reasonable - fm Php 3,000(Deluxe) to Php 3,900(Junior Suite). Nice rest next door servin' Med & local food & wines. Quiet place fm the noise in P. Burgos but still within walkin' distance. Nearby(abt 150m) away, u wl find lots of Korean rests & some resthouses. Stayed 2 nites(seperate occasions on 15th & 23rd Feb 2013). Entirely enjoyed my stay. Beddings were good & comfy. Rooms were very clean & new. Lots of channels on telly & free wifi in room. Coffee & tea are available in each room. Strongly recommend for those who wish to try new boutique style hotels tts clean, new & comfy. Easily accessible to all areas either by just walkin'(Power Plant & P.Burgos vicinity) or by taxis(rest of Quezon area). U can hv yr b'fast served to u in e room. Rates r inclusive b'fast(only filipino food). U can request for Continental b'fast & pay e difference liked I did. I only paid abt Php100 for switch to Continental.

I loved this place, it met all my expectations. The sTaff was nice and helpful and I would definitely stay here again. The rooms are great, clean and comfortable, the bathroom is small but it's fine. It has great wifi and great cable tv. Location is good, it's in a safe area but it hard to get back in at night as the streets are gated around the area. If you go out at night you will have to back street the area to get back to the hotel because it is gated. Apart from that, it's very close to the shopping malls and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

I stayed here for 3 nights and I am pretty happy with deal I made.

ROOM:

Small but cozy, clean, and well designed.
Although the air conditioning inside the room makes some noises time to time (no big deal)

I liked the idea of "go green" where they won't change the bed and pillow sheets unless you put the little card on your bed to ask them to change.

STAFF:

They are very friendly and know their jobs. Very helpful when you need them.

LOCATION:

It's located in neighborhoods near Rockwell. Very peaceful and quiet.

I didn't try to garb a cab from as I like to go on foots all the times. Unlike others say it wouldn't be safe, I didn't feel that way (maybe it's because I'm physically big) lol

The only problem I had was the time coming from airport. It was kind of difficult to find place although the taxi driver was asking local people to help, it turned out most of them also don't know the place. You'd better use google map you possible (then it would be easy)

VALUE FOR MONEY:

You won't regret it at all. It's totally a good deal for the money you spend to stay here.

You might complain about breakfast. To me it was ok, simple food with a cup of coffee.

Room safe did not work, so changed room. Breakfast was included, but that was short of normal - I think they know now what they need to do to fix it. I can still recommend this place as the staff really tried their best to cover the system shortcomings. Taxis struggle to find the location, so download the area map on your smartphone GPS so you can direct the taxi to the location at ease. Not far from (easy walking distance) of the (in)famous Burgos Street (night clubs). Several good home laundry services just in walking distance within this quiet friendly quiet clean residential neighbourhood. I stayed here now several times.

Hi! Thank you for choosing to stay with us after several times! We do hope, too, that taxi drivers can find our hotel more easily, but maybe it's also nice to be a "hidden gem" in the city. Indeed, we are happy to be located in a quiet neighborhood, and most of our guests seem to appreciate that fact too. As for the minor inconveniences you experienced during your last stay, we'll ensure that they won't happen again on your next visit. :)

Like any hotel, if fully booked due to seasonal fluctuations or major events, then you are out of luck. Most hotels charge for "walk-ins" more compared to booking via some well known online booking websites. If you are looking to book a room just for 2 hours, maybe they don't have a discount rate for that. I know of a number hotels who don't take walk-ins. In short, why take your chances finding they are booked, or not take walk ins, etc?
