Recently stayed at Somerset Olympia, as had no choice but only for a few days. The most recent review sums it up...old and poor breakfast, after all these years and so many complaints they still cant get it right. The good news is that Ascott will no longer manage the facility from 1 January 2023. Hopefully new managers will shake up the staff as assistant manager Bryan was so arrogant and needs to be re-trained. We wont return until we can see some improvements across the whole facility. However also been informed it is to be demolished to make way for a new residential develepment, makes sense I guess.

This hotel is most certainly dated. First of all, the lobby itself is in a basement area and not particularly inviting. The building is aged, and so are the rooms themselves. The hallways echoed and gave a bit of an eerie vibe going to our room. We had a shower issue as well where it would be warm for about 2 minutes and would just go cold in the middle of your shower. That was unpleasant. The breakfast that was included is ala carte but with very limited choices. The location is good in that it's walking distance to Greenbelt, Glorietta, and The Landmark. Right across the road is The Ayala Gardens shops but it's barely opened yet so not a whole lot available. There is a wonderful restaurant called Blackbird but be prepared to pay a lot of money. The facilities are limited and the swimming pool is very small and in a bit of an awkward position. Overall, if you're looking for somewhere to stay in the area you could probably find something a lot nicer for less. The staff though - incredibly friendly and very helpful. It is a fantastic location - right in the hear of Makati and next to places to eat and shop and the erstwhile Ayala triangle which is sadly a small green area. The hotel is nice and thankfully not a high rise. They were able to provide me an early check-in, which was great! the room is really nice and cosy. Living area and bedroom separate. Bed clean and comfy. Warm water in the shower. The noise level is a problem as the windows do not cut off the traffic noise which can get disturbing at night. Breakfast - disappointing though some regular items were on the buffet (bread, fruits etc) and and choice from the menu for the mains. The gym needs reworking as the cycle was not working well as they need to upgrade the equipment. Despite this, I would not mind staying here again. Its just relaxing after a long day at work or travel…

I stayed in the one bedroom executive suite. This room is very nice, clean, and spacious. The only update needed was to change the original windows in the room (from the 1970's), as there was was a 1" gap in the bathroom window where noise and hot air could get in. The Staff are nice and very helpful. The breakfast was the biggest disappointment. It's not a buffet. It is a plated breakfast (2 eggs, cheap meat like spam, and rice). The buffet part consists of melon, coffee, juice, and bread and butter (that is all). I had to supplement my breakfast every day with my own hardboiled eggs. The gym is small but had decent equipment. Overall, it was a nice stay

First, the location is fine. It's an older building in a very metropolitan area, but overall good. That's about it. I booked this hotel based on the pictures, reviews, location, price and accommodation. Unfortunately, with the exception of the price, everything else was dishonest or at best mis-leading. BUYER BEWARE. First off, I booked an Executive 1 bedroom. There is absolutely nothing within the unit that is anywhere near like the pictures. I suspect the same may be said about the other rooms as well. The room is old, furniture is SPRASE and WORN, A/C's are loud, kitchen cannot be described as stocked, TV is about as small as you can purchase. In other words, it was a HUGE shock to walk in and know that I had just dropped about the same amount of money as the Pennisula right down the street. Lobby picture was misleading...here again, the whole lobby is probably 10sqm, can barely fit anyone, is unorgnized and is as far from a welcoming experience as you can imagine. Staff...the reception staff was one of the rudest individuals I have met...which is more unusual given the usual nature of Filipino hospitality. Yes, it served my purpose, gave me a place to sleep...however...it seems abundantly clear that the mgmt is posting all these rave reviews and then responding to them...this place misses on every single level. FYI...not a random poster or reviewer...I travel 250+ days a year around the world as an Executive of one of the largest BPO's not only in Manila but worldwide. So I've stayed in my share of hotels, condotels, etc. This place does not deserve the credentials and kudos that appear all over the internet.…

I spent my 40th birthday in your hotel and the experience was amazing and unforgettable. My beloved wife and siblings had great food from Old Swiss Inn Restaurant delivered to my room. After dinner, Ms. Jillian brought me one of the best birthday cakes I ever had, I was really touched!
