We just recently stayed here over the weekend and JM in the front desk made our check in very easy. The room was clean although being a peninsula was dated compared to what we have experienced in chicago and hongkong. However, food and service were satisfactory and the pool was a delight. Price wise it was a bargain. Would we stay again? YES because we find it relaxing and value for money.
I waited for almost five months to write this review about my stay.I waited because nobody really cares about reading the Hotel reviews right now since the travel is limited and the world is facing a pandemic, plus i wanted Peninsula to get full credit of my amazing stay.I am still not sure if it is the right time.I was there is February. Check in;I arrived at the hotel at around 5 am after a long flight of 15 hours from Toronto.even though i traveled Business class still due to time difference i was dead tired and was looking for immediate warm shower and a bed.I was kinda worried that i will have to sleep in the lobby of the hotel till i get my room.To my surprise they checked me into my suite at 5.30 am.i immediately figured out these guys care about their guest. Property; The property is huge,Grand lobby,Nice gym, beautiful pool, with beautiful spa.I had couple of treatments and the masseuse were very knowledgeable and professional. They have live entertainment every evening in the lobby and a bar to hangout. The only beef i have with Peninsula is they didn't have TV in the bar like any other sports bar,i was there during super bowl and no Tv in the bar.well no big deal,we north american people are crazy about our football hahahah. The breakfast was superb, there was everything one could ask for.Vida was amazing host ,i enjoy working out in the morning and then have my breakfast in casual attire so i would have it in the main dinning then in the club lounge where there is a dress code. House keeping and suite;I l prefer same person or people for my house keeping during my stay because hotel room becomes your home for whatever time you are there. The person who looked after my room was superb!!very caring, making sure the room is stocked up with water, and toiletries.I had a suite, very spacious and comfortable.beautiful view of sunrise from living room.coffee maker, bottle water, robe, slippers, all the amenities of 5 star hotel. Concierge and front desk;everyone at the front desk was amazing and always genuinely smiling, making you feel welcome. Concierge arranged for all my tours including my airport transfers. They were even handing out mask and every guest temperature was checked before entering the hotel property which i found really caring. Club Lounge;I kept the best for the last.after my meetings i use to hang out in my room or at the Club Lounge.the lounge serves real food not finger sandwiches like other hotels. WHAT AN AMAZING SERVICE!! every staff at the lounge need to be complimented, wow and wow again!!they are all out to impress the guest.my compliments to the club managers Finally SHOUT OUT TO THE MANAGEMENT STAFF for running such an amazing and tight ship.I have stayed at the best of the best hotels around the world.it is very rear to see hotel GM scouting the hotel property everyday. Not a day went i didnt see the GM walking around the hotel. That is called leadership To the staff ,thank you all and Stay safe .i highly recommend this hotel and i will definitely return.…
I've been to Peninsula Makati several times, and it has been historically world-class outstanding. The hotel has a remarkable ambience, like something from a Bond film. The lobby's italianate marble details, vaulted ceilings and fake palm tress would, under almost any other circumstances, come off as kitsch. But the Peninsula owns it with such conviction that it is magnificent. In the afternoon and evening, with a pianist or quartet in the gallery it is a uniquely enjoyable experience. Connected rooms are great for families/ kids. Accommodating on late check out. Some operations a bit off peak performance: breakfast buffet seems not to excel at anything, a bit of quantity/ breadth over quality. Some buffet items outright nasty. Old Manila was closed at the time (june 2022) most recent stay, a bit of a disappointment as previously an outstanding formal dining chef/menu and experience. Front door concierge staff not managing meter taxi requests very well, e.g. cutting people into the queue (I found it faster to walk around the block to hail cabs in Ayala Avenue). The COVID lockdowns have been very hard on the Philippines hospitality sector, so I cut them some slack for the time being, but they need to do some work, particularly on front-of-house operations and chef/ kitchen to restore their 2019 world-class performance.…
Checked in last night at The Peninsula, our reservation is for 2 bed however it is not available when I checked in, I was informed by the front desk that they will put us on a room with king size bed and they will just put an extra bed for free because it’s the only room available at that point. After bringing in our luggage we went outside, when we came back at around 12MN the extra bed wasn’t there, when I call the reception I was informed that it was not endorsed by the front and that they will check it first with the duty manager, then they made us wait for more than two hours before they bring in the extra bed with old worn out pillow. Never expected this kind of service for a 5 star hotel because I am a frequent guest of Manila peninsula due to the nature of my work. What I only received from this inconvenience is a insincere apology through phone by the front desk, what a disappointment.…
Very disappointed with this hotel that used to be a gem. Check-in time was over 40 mins and that in the club lounge. Every time concierge was required, waiting time was over 10 minutes. Phones were not answered. Spa was an old hotel room that was rather dirty. Voluntarily downgraded the room due to bed arrangement and was told it would be a lower room rate. However, I still paid for a suite in the end…..
Booked a suite room and it has a the gallery lounge access. Im staying with my husband and one 4 year old child. We weren't able to fully use the privacy of the gallery because kids are not allowed in the lounge! the alternative was to dine in the lobby for specific times. the lobby looks luxurious but its quite chaotic in there really. staff are friendly and nice but coordination between the gallery and the lobby when using the lounge benefit is chaotic. most of the staff in the lobby are unaware on what you can order based on the gallery benefit ending up paying some of what i ordered in the lobby even i told them i'm dining as part of the extended gallery benefit beacuse i have a kid with me. staff - are all friendly and welcoming! :) room 663 - suite is very lovely. i stayed here as i've missed the "pinoy vibes". spacious and view is stunning especially the sunrise. ive stayed in some five star hotels abroad and all lounges are kid friendly. i think its time for peninsula manila to do the same.…
I had an incredible experience staying at The Peninsula Manila. Everything from checking in, to the hotel's upkeep and room was top-notch. The location is close to the malls and also the business buildings. I was extremely pleased with the entire staff and will be staying here in the future. I highly recommend.
I got the chance to visit a lot of hotels already and the services I received from THE PENINSULA MANILA is the BEST so fat. I would like to commend JM from the reception, Ks. Rachel, Crystal, Rommel, Eugene and Jericho of the executive lounge for the exemplary service they rendered. All the staff are well trained and I salute the management for that! Very welcoming atmosphere really delighted me. I also appreciate the personalized service we got from the staff who gave us assistance in our luggage…one is Josef and I forgot the name of the other one. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS! This hotel is really highly recommendable. They offer very relaxing ambience, clean room and good food. You’re the BEST!
We have stayed in The Peninsula six times and sadly our recent visit will be our last. We now have two children (9 and 6) and only once visited four years ago as a family, when the youngest was a tot. As before we booked a suite, this time two bedroom, and paid extra for Executive Club membership. Unknown to us the Executive Club rules have changed and children are barred from entry (this wasn’t the case when we last visited pre Covid). When I asked why this change had been made I was told at reception there was “no reason” it just was what it was. The hotel then tried to improvise by saying we could have some basic free food in the lobby at specific times (eg kids menu, afternoon tea etc) as the kids were not welcome in the Executive Club. It was a very poor substitute. The hotel also doesn’t have a baby sitter service, which is incredible in 2022. So we will be going to The Fairmont or Raffles from now on. It’s very sad. The service is generally ok / good - Miguel at the front desk was superb but couldn’t turn a family unfriendly hotel into a friendly one. The food is generally average to poor for a five star hotel ( a Premier Inn in the UK has better food) , it’s a good location and we used to love it but I guess that was before we had kids. Avoid if you have small ones with you.…
Classic hotel! We had a great time staying at Manila Peninsula! Escolta dinner buffet is awesome! Great customer service! Location is not bad either, short walk to Glorietta mall. Will definitely consider staying again when in Manila. Fitness facility is good.
