I would recommend Artina Suites..the rooms were spacious and clean, hot shower, good service. It includes also the pick up from and to the airport. It is near to the centre of Makati and various malls.

Stayed here twice and the latest was just last weekend. Got the premiere suite on a discount via their website. Good breakfast for a good price. The aircon was amazing and the room was amazing. I'd come here again. The wifi doesnt work but it works in your favot if you want to disconnect from the world. A great place to chill and relax and you can go out for a dinner or a drink at night since it's near the nightlife.

Just returned March 11, 2013..Stayed at Artina seven days before I ventured to Cebu and Bohol for two weeks and back to Artina one more day before returning to Chicago, U.S.A. Really a great hotel, just far enough from all the busy part but easy walking distance to so much and a safe area. They treated me like one of their family, great room, very clean, nice bathroom, lots of closet space, very secure hotel, 24-7, great breakfast, newspaper at my door every morning , good Wi Fi, The staff so helpful and respectful, everyone form the maids on up.... Arranged for excellent transportation to and from airport and to anywhere, ride the jeepneys, fun, Be sure to visit the Green Belt Area restaurants and shopping, beautiful, and Intramouras, historical place, very interesting.... Overall the staff made my stay so meaningful and really appreciate all of their efforts....Even met the owner one day, a real gentleman.......

Last mid April my Fiance was staying in Artina Suites, Makati for a couple of days & he finds the room really very neat & clean & cool & cozy.
End of May we started our vacation from Cebu, to Baguio & then Manila where he was asking me what hotel do i prefer to stay in Manila at the same time he told me that Artina Suites where he was staying last month is fine but he is wondering if i will like it there, but actually since we have the same taste, i told him that since he liked it there in Artina Suites, then that would be fine for me too & that i think i will like it there. On our way there, still he is worried of me if i will like it there, but then again i kept telling him i know i will like it there he has nothing to worry. And as we finally there in Artina Suites, i got surprised with the FO staff on duty if am not mistaken as per her acknowledgment receipt signed by her for the 1,000.00 deposit i cannot recall her first name if it's Jevelyn but i am sure of her family name that is very easy to remember & that is Gipit..Ms. Gipit just Greeted my Fiance only & Never Ever Greeted me at all. It was even followed when me & my Fiance went out to go dinner, as we passed by the FO, girls with white t-shirts & some FO staffs ONLY GREETED MY FIANCE..is this your Training? I am also a Hotelier i graduated Bachelor of Science in Hotel & Restaurant Management & presently working as a Restaurant Manager, in our Training, we MUST GREET first the woman & then the man. Why? Because WOMEN ARE VERY SENSITIVE, WE WILL ALWAYS FEEL WE ARE REJECTED OR DISCRIMINATED & #2 The Women will think that you might have a feeling or a crush on the partner or husband or boyfriend.
I supposed to correct those girls in the Front Desk because of their Poor customer service relations but then my Fiance told me just don't mind them they are lack of Training to have Customer Service Relations & better write a review at Trip Advisor site.
Lastly, on our last day of stay i cannot remember the name of that lady an FO staff who attended us as we settled our account who said & Only her eyes to my Fiance & said come again Sir & again as if i am not there.
I want to say this that if we come to decide to stay there again in Artina Suites in Makati, it is because i said so. My Fiance kept on saying that he's sorry for making me feel uncomforable in Artina Suites, Makati. Because we already paid online & we don't want any hassle that's why i prefered to stay it there for 2 nights as he wanted us to transfer to other hotel. On all the hotels that me & my Fiance stayed in this vacation, ONLY in ARTINA SUITES, MAKATI that i have an issue.
To the management, i hope that you will give disciplinary action to those FO staffs & please let them have the Seminar pertaining to Good Customer Service Relations frequently so they will always be reminded.
I supposed to recommend your hotel to my traveler friends but because of what had happened, i don't think i can do that, but then again give the best treatment to all your guests, that is why the hotel still continue to operate & that you have salaries because of your guests, don't forget that.
Hope that all of you got corrected & what happened to me will never happen to your future guests.

We arrived at Artina Suites Makati in May 2015...as soon as we entered the lobby area we noticed that this is not what we were hoping for. The receptionist were great. We asked if we could check the rooms before we settle in. It was terrible !!! air-conditioning was not working, boarded up windows, bad lighting and the furnishing was falling apart. We decided that this is not a place to start our Phillipines vacation. We cancelled our 3 days booking (no refund) through AGODA and booked another hotel. This hotel cannot be rated as any star quality. Cannot recommend to anyone.

My experience at Artina Suites was nothing like many of the other reviewers. To start, I was given a room with no windows. There were window shutters, but behind that was...a wall. That made the room dingy and stuffy. When I turned on the air conditioning to cool it down, it was freezing. The air conditioning was very loud, and there was some loud clanging outside the room at all hours, like something mechanical was broken. There wasn't any way to adjust the temperature. The bed was so hard that it hurt to sleep on my side. The room was run-down. And for being in Makati, the neighborhood's not great. The two good things were that the staff was friendly and the breakfast was decent. I would not stay here again.

I booked this for 10 nights through Airbnb as there was no availability in any other OTA websites. I booked a Deluxe A room because it had a separate living area that I wanted for the long-term stay. The room itself was exactly what they had promised:

1. There was no kettle
2. No mineral water bottles --> you can order a water pitcher every evening.
3. No safe for personal belongings

BUT there were other things that were not promised.

1. The room had no window to look outside. I felt suddenly I was under-ground. There was no mention of this on their Airbnb site that some of their Deluxe Rooms had the windows completely sealed so that you could not see one ray of sunlight. If they had informed me this earlier, e.g. during the reservation process, during check-in I would've either changed my mind etc. A room without a window is for an OOD room --> Out of Order. Should not be sold.

2. I requested to have the room change and they offered me a smaller room which they called a "Premier Suite" --> This room had windows, but there was no living room area that I originally signed up for. The room is cleaner and newer so I decided to stay.

3. There was NO hot water in the shower. Which was my main reason of pulling out of this hotel after 3 nights. I asked for this to be fixed, and the following morning I was promised that this would be rectified. I ran the water for 20 odd minutes only to realize that the water would never be more than just "lukewarm". I made another enquiry to the staff who would only reply with "sir, we actually measured the temperature, it has been fixed". I'm not cold blooded. I know when a shower is hot and when its mildly lukewarm. I requested again to have a room change, where they replied that this would be a Twin Room which I accepted.

4. First night I could not find the switch to turn off the bedside lamps. The engineering staff had to come in my room and look for the switch with me for 5 minutes before he pulled out the bed headboard and located the switch that was hidden behind the bed. Ingenious.

5. The breakfast here is dismal. Do Not Waste Your Money.

6. If you're staying on the side of the road of the driveway you arrived at the hotel, don't expect to sleep after 06:00. Right in front there is a speed bump which makes all the JEEPNEYS to change gear to 2nd. The engine sounds are ... well, let's just say you won't need your alarm clock here.

7. There is very little sound proofing, you can hear the housekeeping staff chatting and laughing in the corridors, not to mention their corridor cleaning at 01:00 when the floor polishing machine hits your door. No consideration for the guests sleeping in the room whatsoever.

8. Water pressure from the basin is drizzle at most. I don't know what they want to achieve here but it looks like "Try to live like you're in the forest" with the least bare essentials necessary.

9. First night had to ask for the toilet paper as the roll holder was empty.

10. The room is unbelievably cold. I had the air-conditioning off all the time, and the temperature in the room was 24 degrees celsius throughout. If you're prone to the chill, this is not for you. (Room 324)

Enough with the hotel itself, let's talk about the vicinity. To put quite simply, the surrounding area of the hotel is practically dead. There is absolutely nothing around unless you walk for more than 10 minutes. The nearest 7/11 is either a 10 minute walk or a walk through a dodgy, dark lit, scary construction site road, where you can't wonder if the person walking toward you has a mask or a face. Simply put, this is not a site for a hotel, and you will see this when you're walking about the hotel. There are rooms that are not rooms that are simply there for god knows what.

As far as view goes, I had the best view --> of the Rockwell development. Bunch of buildings and plus your AC's outside part of the machine.

SERVICE

I can't complain about service. They were friendly but no hospitality. I had to checkout late as I wanted to pull out of the ordeal and they wanted me to pay 300 PHP per hour for being late after 13:00. The bill came out to be 1,200 PHP and I told them that they can keep my 1,000 PHP deposit but not coughing up another 200. I thought the shower experience at 06:00 morning every day is enough for most people to not pay the initial accommodation charge.

However I gave this hotel 1 service for 3 things:

1. Staff's stubbornness for me to pay the late check-out fee when there was no arrival guest to the room, knowing that I had the most unpleasant stay purely due to the hotel's ill-kept status.
2. Cleaning staff's delicate cleaning SOPs by waking up the guest.
3. No apologies for the horrible experience.
4. Hotel's general upkeep.

IN SHORT - I think the hotel should stop selling rooms that are OUT OF ORDER to guests. When the shower does not provide hot water, block the room for sale then fix it. When the room has no windows for sun-light --> Don't sell it and expect the guest to try it out first and then give a room change. Don't think your guests are stupid. They remember.

Hoping your stay in Makati won't be in this "Suite". Unless you want to try out what could possibly go wrong in a hotel room? This road-side inn is definitely for you.

I swore to write a review at TripAdvisor after seeing their "Certificate of Excellence" plaque standing by reception. I felt back-stabbed.

Checked in at 3pm only to find out that the room I reserved myself was not available. They are giving me a room far different from what I personally chose when I booked in this hotel. Unpleasant ambience. Not so good food. Hotel staff at the front desk are nice though. But the staff in the Café Gallery who are taking your orders are disrespectful in answering phone calls. The hotel looks old with the wall paint starting to peel off. The lights in the hallway are a little dark. when you are inside the hotel, you will feel as if a dengue-carrying mosquito will bite you any moment. I will never go back in this hotel.

The Artina was easy to book online with one of their affiliated agents and the rates were actually better. The agent we used appeared to be the hotel, so we thought we were booking directly, to learn later it was a mirror website agent. Getting to the hotel is not that easy, as many taxis do not know where it is located so please make sure you have the map and directions. The hotel is located on a very busy small one way street that is crammed with jeepneys.

Staff are efficient and friendly and this is a big plus for this hotel, except for one major error that truly irritated us. We had met a sales woman that approached us on the street about condos. She only knew our first name as it was only a casual encounter and our hotel in discussion, but we had cordially declined her offers. Later, she was able to come into the hotel after we parted company and get our full name and room number off of the front desk staff. Names of guests and their privacy are supposed to be paramount. The hotel did call us before she came up, but the woman should not have gotten that far if she had no last name or room number, not to mention that we did not want to entertain her. I feel this is a very big problem in the training of the front desk staff. .

We were told by the hotel staff that it is not safe to walk at night in the area. A. Venue, a small mall is a short walk away, where you can find stores, places to eat etc including a Hooters. P. Burgos Street for adult entertainment is also not far. Walking by day to A. Venue area, as noted is not far, but it’s on a small one way street crowded with continual jeepneys. The street is lined with construction workers near the new site and many people sitting outside their doors. Expect staring and having to maneuver your way between the jeepneys and sidewalk sitters. .

Rooms are not modern and are actually “oldish” but satisfactorily cleaned, with a living room and bedroom separated in the Deluxe Superior room. Even though it has a kitchenette as advertised, it’s useless. There are no pots, pans or things to cook with, no stove or cooker, just a microwave

We had no hot water in the room, which was eventually resolved. The hotel does not let guests use the split level Air Conditioner remote control, which means it never turns off or can not be adjusted for cooler or warmer temps unless you call the front lobby to do it. This was a huge hassle.
.
Street side rooms are noisy for sure and if you are a light sleeper, you will not be happy in those rooms, which by the way are the bigger rooms. For some reason at 5am, we were awoken from what sounded like foundation drilling at the nearby construction site. It went on for an hour then stopped.

Breakfast was included and it was actually pretty good, but with limited choices. The smoked fish was my favorite off the Filipino menu.

If you do not mind some of the hassles I presented here, its overall not a bad place to stay when you consider the price of about P2300 per night, coupled with the friendliness of the staff. They do need to be trained a bit more on guest privacy and for that reason and some of the problems we encountered, including being told not to walk at night, we can not rank it as high as it has the potential to be ranked.
