Whispering Winds Motel - Relaxing and refreshing motel located just outside the Village of Skaneateles where you will find the best shops, restaurants, and Skaneateles Lake. Just a short drive away you will discover activities everyone will enjoy such as excellent Finger Lakes wineries, hiking, cultural attractions, skiing, and so much more. Enjoy the rustic wooded setting, heated outdoor pool, and individual unit carports while staying in one of our beautifully appointed rooms.
It's an old time motel, which we love. The room itself is updated. The bathroom is not; however, the entire unit was very clean. You get your own carport. The room we were assigned had a small carport so we could not park in it, but we did use the table and chairs assigned to our unit. The staff was really nice. We would definitely go back.

This place has seen better days. It was smelly, the floors were filthy, there was no water pressure, and while the drive in carports are quaint, you can’t ignore the overall rundown conditions. We also had a UHaul truck park right in front of our room (which was not the room I reserved), which blocked our view and made for some noisy neighbors. I thought my days of dive motels were over. I was wrong.

What a cute, comfortable spot close to downtown! Stayed one night while in town for a family event and it was perfect. Each room has a carport with table and chairs outside, great for enjoying morning coffee. The rooms were nice and cool from the AC unit and the beds and linens incredibly comfortable. Very clean. Spacious. Such a cozy place. Bathroom amenities and plush towels. Fruit and coffee in the morning. Lots of charm. Definitely a hidden gem that I would highly recommend!

We needed a room near Skaneateles for one night for a quick visit. The Whispering Winds was just exactly what we needed...and then some. Greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. The office was clean and had travel information and some table sitting for continental breakfast the next morning. Our room wasn't huge, its not the Hilton, but we weren't looking for that. It was well equipped with all the necesseties a motel should have. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable along with the bedding. All in all a comfortable stay for what we needed. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you!

Great Motel to stay at, very quaint and quiet. The accomodations were very clean and well appointed with both up to date amenities as well as a touch of the old. We were late to get to the motel and the owner graciously called to find out our ETA so that she could be ready for our arrival, very nice! We arrived and were welcomed with a room, private carport and free breakfast in the morning so that we could enjoy our hot coffee's as we do at home. Don't expect 5 start hotel luxury's but they do a fantastic job at making you feel at home and comfortable. The entire staff was great and we will plan on staying there again. Thank you.

This is a small and older motel but very good for what it is. If you expect a 5 star hotel then go somewhere else but for the price and the location it is fine. The maids do a good job and will do as they are asked if you want something special for your room. Number 12 will give some privacy so if you desire that try and get number 12.

Not exactly up to date but quite adequate. Very comfortable beds,(we had 2 queens) amenities in the bathroom and very clean.Had a hard time shutting the water off in the tub and apparently others did too as there were large rust stains. They offer a simple breakfast in the AM but we opted to go out. There is one small table in the office where breakfast is eaten but each room had its own outdoor two seat dining set. I also liked the fact that there was room for the car in an individual carport.very convenient and protected. Our biggest problem was the AC. It was freezing in the room and the air conditioner as placed near the ceiling so that in order to lower the temperature one had to stand on a chair and even then it was impossible. Also need outlets in convenient places for chargers.. Friendly and accessible small staff(1). Just above the village of Skaneateles in a quiet spot across from a sunflower filled field. We would return if the AC is manageable.…

This is a clean older motel from the 1950's or 60's. It has been updated and is comfortable. Lighting is not great for reading. Our bathroom door would only open part way and it on the floor. The ad said ""complementary continental breakfast" however we did not find one or have it offered to us at check-in. We would stay again, however the room with AAA rate was $126 and the value was more like $80.

Semi-remodeled motel with clean rooms and friendly services just outside of skaneateles. Free continental breakfast in a.m. saved us from going out. Saved on accommodations to be able to eat at our chosen restaurants in Skaneateles

This old-style motor court (you park your car alongside your room) had the basics but the cost was somewhat expensive - $129 + tax for a small room that smelled of mothballs. Also the wi-fi was too weak to be picked up by a smartphone anywhere except in the closet! No exhaust fan in the bathroom which must get interesting in the 6 colder months of the year!
