Wish we could have stayed longer. This was a wonderful get a way from the city. The drive up there was long, a few hours, but it was nice to see the province (countryside). Upon arrival we were greeted with ice coffee which was a wonderful surprise and nice welcome after a long car ride. The room was big with a sitting area. We needed an electrical converter which they promptly got for us. We loved the rain shower that was in the bathroom. There was plenty of extra toiletries and room slippers for both of us. The bed was comfortable and the room had a modern look to it.

The outdoor dining area was wonderful. There is nothing more pleasant than sitting outdoor overlooking the pool while enjoying your dinner. We also had breakfast there. They even cooked something special to accommodate our diet. They also brought us a paper to read while enjoying our breakfast.

The staff always had a smile for us. They even have a car service that was able to take us in a tour of the downtown area. The driver was able to tell us the history of the area which was an added bonus. I was impressed that the bellman took a different elevator than we did to bring our bags to our room. It was nice to not be cramped into an elevator.

This one place we will be visiting again!

I have been longing to try this hotel and I was disappointed, at their rate per night this is so overrated. Though the room was big and easily accommodate our family of 4, the staff were courteous and all smiles and helpful. What I don't like is the smell of the room, smells old and the bath room, it has shown its age and maintenance problem, chipped tiles, stained bath tub, even leaking airconditioning (though was quickly remedied). Breakfast was a joke, they said it would be buffet but looks like they just transferred the plated meal in the trays since you only have one choice.

We stayed in the hotel last Christmas... The first thing we noticed as we entered the room was it was too dark, insufficient lighting on the "sala".. we even noticed that the airconditioning was way out of normal.. you still have to look on it about an hour before recognizing it... The comfort i can say is excellent.. clean sheets and floors...The worst thing i've noticed is the bell boy.. as we were taking our things out of the car, he was not responding quickly as he should be... maybe because we were using an old model of vehicle... a major no no... tsk..

We stayed 2 nights at Pontefino Hotel in Batangas City for our annual Christmas vacation. The hotel is very nice and very clean. Staff were very courteous and helpful. The hotel is just less than a kilometer away from SM Batangas City and the Church of the Most Holy Trinity which is very convenient. The facilities available to guest includes a workout gym and swimming pools, and jacuzzi. The only complain I have is the morning breakfast which consist of only one entree, scramble eggs, garlic rice and the usual toast bread and a very limited selection of fruits. Not only that, we have to wait for the kitchen to bring out the entree (first breakfast was tocino and second was adobo pork & chicken). The staff should have anticipated the shortage and bring out more of the entree. Our breakfast took us more than one hour to eat when it should have been only 30 minutes. There were no massage service but I guess it was because its Christmas day. The hotel provide daily newspapers from Star, Inquirer and Bulletin. It was a very relaxing stay for us at the hotel.

Our second stay at Pontefino, we have been happy with the hotel both times. There is nothing outstanding about this hotel location-wise although if you have to stay in Bats city it is the way to go. The rooms are getting a bit old but are still very clean and large. The service is ok but not amazing as is the food at the included breakfast. The pool and gym are definitely above average. I will stay there again but mostly for a lack of choice.

i just come back in usa and cant wait to write a review..
1. they will charge you P20,000 on your credit card without telling you as a deposit.. Its still on my credit card up to now and wasnt reversed the charge yet..
2. the room is big, though lack in modern amenities.. the Tv is not flat screen, the floor is not carpeted, have to ask the front desk for bathroom amenities because its not provided in the bathroom.
3. Towels are minimal. No wash cloth, no bath mat which will make your feet wet walking through the marble floor.
4. Food is ok, but not superb for the price..
Why I am complaining? because for Batangas price, it is very overpriced! Ive stayed in new world in makati prior to pontefino and pontefino is beyond uncomparable. And did i say ponte fino is pricier than new world? I paid P4,050 for new world and pay P5,600 for hotel pontefino.
Location is ok.. as it nears hospital (in case you need emergency) and SM, but if you dont have a car, there is no taxi in this city.. you need to take the tricycle or jeepney.
Staff are great, specially in the restaurant.. its just they have to deliver if they are charging too much...
Definitely will not come back to this hotel....

Pontefino Batangas, is probably the best hotel within the city of Batangas itself. It has great, helpful staff, spacious rooms, and most of the facilities you need: A decent restaurant (to my European standards), swimming pool, fitness, free broadband internet.
Given I have stayed here in the past -when the hotel was brand new- the hotel seems in desperate need of some basic restoration. The bathroom is quite old, basic and our toilet e.g. needed to be fixed a couple of times during our stay. The hotel's outside should be repainted and the children's pool repaired. The once wellness center is being used as a storage room... The luscious green surroundings have been replaced by a giant tent serving as event hall, and in the front a construction yard has risen. I guess the owners are trying to trying to maximize their ROI and by shortening their payback period at the cost of the once unrivaled hotel in Batangas city.
Nevertheless, Pontefino is still a great place to stay and this mostly due to the very helpful and kind staff. People went beyond in order to meet our wishes.
My only remark goes out to the management of this hotel: as your own staff you need to be more customer centric. The most shocking I found, next to the public bossy and cocky display vs own staff, is when we were told that we needed to leave the hotel lobby while entertaining some visitors, to move into the restaurant to consume our beverages given some beverages were alcoholic? This just goes a bit beyond my comprehension, given we were probably one of the few guests staying in the hotel and that in every other major hotels lobbies are used just for that?!
In summary, Pontefino is a decent hotel in need of refurbishing today. It used to be great but lost some of it's original glory. The staff makes up for it, but do not be surprised of weird "managerial" decisions....

Im suprise about thebad reviews that pontefino recieved. When my family and I went there for vacation, we stayed there for a month and there was not a day that we were not treated like royalty. If I had more than two thumbs, I would give them three thumbs up!!!

It's my understanding that breakfast is included with all rooms. Breakfast was included with our room when we stayed. Why not email or call the hotel directly?
