My wife and I recently spent 5 disappointing, frustrating days at Ligaya. We were deceived by the photos of a well set-up dive facility showing a nice gas-blending station, when in fact the reality of this "resort" is vastly different. We went there to do a combination of technical and fun diving, and when we arrived, there was no boat to take us to dive sites, and no one to dive with us. It took TWO days for a dive master to appear!
We wanted to do technical diving, they did not have enough helium, the gear was faulty (my wife's rented regulator second stage was very unreliable and frankly unsafe - there was no spare in the resort). There is no one there who knows anything about diving, all enquiries have to be TEXTED back to Manila, and then wait for someone to call (in one case it took over a day!!).
Food and accommodation is simple but adequate, but I cannot say the same about the set up for diving. No one there could do a dive plan for tech, so beware!! It is amateur, not entirely safe, and absolutely not worth the money. Also, do not get sucked in to thinking that renting a boat "per day" is actually for a day...it's PER TRIP....so you will be charged double the advertised rate if you dive in the morning, come back for lunch, and then go out again in the afternoon. After questioning them on this, the advertised price list was taken away from the front desk so we couldn't see it anymore!!
Further, your bill must be paid in CASH, there are no credit card facilities, but this is not mentioned on the website or anywhere in the resort.
Very disappointing, we will never come here again. Whilst the staff at the hotel are friendly, the lack of preparation, the utter lack of knowledge about diving, and the total lax attitude to safety and organisation made this a bad experience all round.

We were at Ligaya resort for a weekend. The lady that we booked the resort with provided us with a detailed quote of the rooms, diving equipment, and dives so we knew what we needed to pay upfront. Ligaya only accept cash.
The staff, cook, and the boat team were all very friendly and the resort was cozy. The food was average and if you drink more than 6 packs of beers a day, be sure to let them know in advance. The rooms were clean but the bathrooms have water pressure problems so taking a shower and washing your swimsuit may be challenging in the rooms.
It was pretty clear to us that the dive master was not familiar with the equipment at Ligaya. We needed an extra large BCD but they had to rent it from the resort next door. The regulator provided by Ligaya didn't function properly for me and the dive master was nice enough to switch the equipment with me after a dive. Ligaya is a nice little cozy resort if you have your own dive equipment and would like to have a quiet stay. I'm giving it an average rating because the staff tries hard and the resort is clean and quiet.
