Detailed Reviews
Room # 206
Length of stay: 4 Days
The best thing about Alpa Hotel is it is very clean. The floors are squeaky clean from the room to the corridors.
Breakfast was okay.
Wish there was wifi inside the room, plus a better mobile reception would be appreciated.
There's hot shower, but I think restroom tiles need scrubbing.
They charge for food (bought outside) heating, which I think is absurd for hotel guests.
Overall, I had relaxing sleeps at night and the courteous staff add extra value to comfort and experience.

Good afternoon Mr. Benedict A! I know it's late, but I would like to extend thanks for taking time to review our hotel. We appreciated it specially the extra value added comfort and experience we provided during your stay. We hope you stay with us again when you visit Batangas City for you to experience what we already improved regarding our rooms since we are under remodeling rooms one at a time. Again, thank you very much! Don't hesitate to communicate with us should you need accommodation in the future.

I can’t remember feeling of bigger disconnect between lobby and room.
The lobby had a modern feel: color, tiles, and sofa. The elevator even looks new so in my mind wow classy place. But by the time I reached my room, room 201, I felt the age creeping in; that this hotel already had some years. It’s not dilapidated mind I felt the excitement loose all of its air like a balloon. Oh right I am in the provinces my mind says to me.
Room 201 is at the tail end of the second floor. The hotel’s definition of good for 3 is a bed good for two and one enough for just the one. I was never a fan of sharing beds especially on business trips. The room is also furnished with a table; it has cabinets; a spacious room all things considered.
The toilet was a sizeable too though not ideally designed. There are no safety handrails you can use going into the tub or bathing area. And there was no exhaust fan so for decontamination as it were we had to open up the door ‘risking’ the entire room in a way. Good thing no one ate anything unsavory that night.
Unfortunately since I don’t pay in these trips I cannot report to you anything about price or deals just an observation of what I’ve been through. Here is one observation; my party was only given a key to the room which could be a sign of no free breakfast.
Location wise the hotel is just 5 minutes away from the Batangas Provincial Capitol where we had business. The road going into it was quite busy ensuring clients of the hotel transportation options.
In relation to the road my room 201 and everything on its side would probably the best location in the hotel as it is the opposite of the busy road at the entrance. The lobby has internet access but it felt slow on my end. There is a common area on the 2nd floor, a space full of tables almost looking like a cafeteria; that space is still within reach of the wifi. It was a long way down and vice versa so I stayed there a few minutes. As spacious as the room looks it doesn’t get the juices flowing.
To summarize my forgettable stay sleep quality is fine especially since I cornered the solo bed; if you don’t mind the sharing you can too.
Outside of sleep you have to consult with the other reviewers of this hotel or you write a review yourself how it is.

Hi Mr. / Ms. igmegalingan! I know it's late but we thank you for your review. For an update, we are now on the process of remodeling our rooms and Room 201 is part of our remodeled rooms already. From the walls, tiles and bathroom, everything is newly renovated. We are also glad you took some time staying in Azotea, the area in the second floor. Regarding our wifi connection, we already boosted it for a faster connection provided to guests. We hope that you stay with us again in your next visit here in Batangas City. Just contact us here should you wish for us to make reservations. Thank you again!

Very old room, with an eerie bathroom/ a shabby bath. With a little work, the vintage ambiance could be a plus. Cleanliness could be improved on.
However they offered very good service, friendly staff. The food I ordered throughout my stay was really yummy. Overall my stay was just ok, good enough, probably already the best hotel in the area.

stayed in alpa hotel for a night and my thought of staying at a good hotel was a nightmare.. room is good.. tv is so classic.. furniture is old.. bathroom is in need of fixing.. shower is way too damn hot.. i had to take a bath in cold shower.. price does not compensate the amenities.. even the parking is not spacious.. its better to stay at a cheaper hotel.. facade is a fake.. it is attractive but inside is terrible.. and i woke up with the sound of construction going outside..

Having just retired, Diane and I moved to Batangas, to travel the Philippines and SCUBA dive. While house hunting we stayed at the Alpha Hotel. The staff in the hotel and the restaurant were wonderful and very accommodating. Caloy and Manny, running the dining room, saw to every order, and the food was delicious. They chicken cordon bleu was prepared differently than usual, but was wonderful.
Once they learned we were looking for permanent residence, Raffy, a staff member, took us on his tricycle to see a house, and the director of Human Resources took us to look at an apartment. And they seemed thrilled to do it!!
WI FI is free, but doesn't work in the rooms yet. Lounge and pool-side, and restaurant is okay.
The elevator is out, as they are renovating, but they are making a great effort to ensure that this place is the one you want to stay at when you visit Batangas.

I originally booked for six nights but had to leave early, non refundable booking which I accept but hotels build reputations from being flexible with their customers and here there was none. The reception is large and bright, lovely swimming pool however once past the new swanky lifts your back to real basics. My room was bad..... cold shower, noisiest AC I have experienced, curtains fixed so can't be open and windows locked and blanked out, only one towel...the list goes on, but mainly the noise is too much for any relaxation. Restaurant service poor having to chase waiter all the time; Batangas is renown for its coffee, mine came in a packet with sugar and milk already mixed in. The price is low so wasn't expecting much but I have stayed in worst places and given five stars because of the service and clear attempts to make the best of what they have. This hotel appears to be selling what it isn't. Location is long way from anything of note but lots of trikes to get round on.

Checked in here for 2 nights to attend funeral of my grandmother. We chose this one since it’s nearer the memorial chapel.
Pros:
Spacious room
Shower & toilet bowl have a separation
Shower water heaters
Elevator is new
Cons:
-The aircon vent is not working so we need to put something to stay the vent uo so it won’t hit us directly when sleeping
-You can hear all kinds of noise outside of the hotel because of their old windows - dogs barking, rooster sounds, cellphones, trucks/vehicles
-Bed, toilet bowl, sink are all low (will be difficult for a person who is 5’5” in height)
-Receptionist are not trained to be respectful- we paid for one night upon check in (usually hotels will let you pay when you check out), on our second night, the receptionist ask us when our we going to pay for the second night. We told her we’ll pay upon check out and then she asked ua what time are we going to check out. We answered before 12nn. Late she called us in the room & asked us again in our if we’re gonna pay upon check out the next day & by what means! Annoying! I didn’t get her name but she was on night duty last Jan15,2021.
-The room rate doesn’t have breakfast
-when we asked for new towels & additional pillows, they just put it in our room witout taking the old towels & without making our beds/cleaning the room!
-we were also told that there will be a ref in the room but no ref was installed
We were running errands and arranging funeral for my grandmother and just so tired to complain there. We just want to sleep immediately.
And so i’ll just leave a review for everyone’s reference.

We drove from Manila to Batangas City to go to Puerto Galera the next day. The Alpa hotel is not on the main street, hence pretty quiet. The hotel is clean, we had a nice room with it seems an updated bathroom. The staff is extremely helpful. There is a restaurant on site, and the hotel offers a shuttle to the pier. Will consider again for a stay next time.

Visiting Batangas for business trips and usually staying in this old hotel, if not the first hotel in Batangas City. The hotel staff are very warm and accommodating and would really go an extra mile to look after your every need. My overall experience in this hotel makes all my Batangas trip convenient and hassle free this hotel has been extension of my office and my home south of Manila. It is not the fancy hotel but the food was great especially the pancit, and thanks to the great service of the hotel staff that makes Alpa my home in Batangas City.
