We stayed there last May 26-27. First of all the place is really small and congested. The cottages are very close to each other and there's not really much place to roam around (reason I think why it's also very hot inside considering that it is in the middle of a barrio). There's a debut when we went there so the place, being small, just became smaller for us because out of 2 adult pools, only 1 pool is for public use (the other is reserved for the celebration). The road inside the resort is also narrow. The plus point is the grilling station but overall, if you really want a quiet place to unwind, then this resort is not for you (even at night, it is noisy) We actually got a discount voucher for this so we are very thankful but for its regular price, Kubo Villa for 3k, i don't think i will spend that much).

Kudos to the staff, I know they'll will really do everything to make your stay comfortable.

We went here during the weekends and stayed in a very TINY and HOT kubo with a small ceiling fan. The kubo has a small veranda where you can eat and hang. We got there around 1:30pm and there was a wedding so we cannot use the bar or dinning area since that's where the event was held. Thay had to close the other pool too (there's only 3 pools. 2 for adults, 1 for kids) because of the said event. We had to switch rooms because there was a foul smell within the kubo since we got there (smell like a dead rat) and they were very accomodating to hand us another room that night (around 1am). The area in genaral was VERY CLEAN and they were VERY ORGANIZE. I like the idea that they have designated tables for the rooms in their dinning area inside the resort. They have a grilling and dish washing area as well so you bring your own food (without corckage). However their viands are too pricey compared to the quantity of the food. They also have camp site with sand and bonfire, I think that was cute too. They have a stage and a band during weekends which you can enjoy during night time. There's pretty much nothing else to do here but swim (since we can't stay in our kubo because it was tooooooo hot and it cost 3k/night). It was an Ok experience but I will probably not go back anytime soon.

The accomodations are expensive by their standard. The superior room we originaly booked was too small to accomodate 3persons at 6000 per night. The fountain in the pool area was only operated for 10 mins only. Not satisfied with the resort amenities. Look for other resort to get a better deal.

Rooms - too small. Food - too expensive. Location - too far. If you are from the North or Manila, it will be a waste of time to travel that far because all you can enjoy there was the pool. Pools - very crowded. Shower - heaters are not working and water is not so strong. I do not recommend this place to people who like to enjoy.

The deal promo we got from Cash Cash Pinoy is very good value. The resort is located beside a sugarcane plantation, between the towns of Cuenca and Lemery. Ask the resort for directions. The swimming pools are clean and pretty with changing underwater lights. There's a kiddy pool with a lifeguard from a balcony. The staff are accomodating and friendly allowing us to use their table tennis, darts, videoke, and billiards facilities (charged per hour) in flexible time. The room is clean, with good aircon, cable tv, barbecue area, dishwashing area, open cottage, hot shower, and comfy beds. We stayed there overnight for new year's eve. Complimentary breakfast was not bad with unlimited Batangas Barako coffee. The only turnoff was a rat (might be a farm rat) we saw in the open-air cottage table in a neighboring cottage, so it is best not to leave any food or leftovers exposed outdoors.

Room Tip: The good for 16 pax room is too cramped with bunk beds. Better choose the good for 8 pax room.

Too expensive for just a swimming pool. Interior Location - hav to snake thru small winding interior roads (dont pass at night). Staff r unwelcoming, even seem intimidating & arrogant. Room for 4 is actually just for 2. Watta rip-off!

Residencia de Riego is advertised as a resort with swimming pools which have lightning shows daily, bar life and restaurant.
We booked through friends this place in Batangas and looked really forward to be there.
we knew it was not on the beach but in fact the place is 40 minutes from the ocean. we arrived at a steel gate which was locked and a security guard opened after a while.
we were shon to our accomodation a kuba hut. whilst we knew there was no aircon we were told the beds were comfortable. the double bed advertised was in fact a large single, hardly big enough for two people unless you are 4 feet tall and weigh 40 kg.I asked about mosquito and was told there are none.
It was very hot and humid. the music playing at the pool was loud, extremely loud making conversation difficult.
there were maybe 50 children and young adults playing in the pools, the pools looked like only half a meter deep.
Ok, we paid the 12000 PHP for our two kubos for three nights, which was a reduced rate, the usual price is 18000 PHP in advance.
Ok, now we tried the restaurant. the menu was ok, we ordered sandwiches, spaghetti marinara and drinks.
The waiter returned after the order was taken and told us our choices are not available. we asked what we could have he told us spaghetti bolognaise and coke nothing else. i asked if more choices were possible later on or next day, no this was it. three days spaghetti and coke only.
It started raining, the music box in the restaurant was so loud it hurt our ears.
One of us visited the toilet, the only toilet for the hole "resort". no toilet paper there.
Mosquitoes started to pester us as well, big ones.
There was nothing around the place where you could go or eat or bars nothing.
Ok, I had enough, I went to reception and asked for the toilet paper, complained about the meal choice, drinks.
Was told all would be fixed.
Ok, I asked our driver to return to find alternative accomodation.
We found another resort on the beach, which had aircon, but was not luxurious by any means but we could enjoy the beach and things. we booked this.
Back at the Residencia de Riego I confronted the manageress and asked for a full refund.
she said after ringing her boss only 50 % was policy for refunds.
She agreed that conditions were not what was stated in advertisements and also that mosquitoes were present, but she said this just happened today, yesterday all was fine!
Ok, I told her I wanted a full refund and would make sure everyone would find out what was happening here over internet.
She then tried to talk to my wife in Filipino, but was redirected to me quickly.
I then accepted tp pay one night and eventual got a refund for the other two nights.
We packed quickly, in the meantime a karaoke machine next door to our accommodation played fully, making the hut shake.
Ok, this was a nightmare. we were then told that a resort with the same name owned by the same owner was maybe to blame for the confusion. it was on a different island and could only be reached by a boat.
We left relieved and enjoyed the rest of our holiday in the Philippines.

It is a group tour about 34 pax..
We have 3 voucher for 30 pax (10 persons on each voucher) and 1 kubo for overnight for 4 pax.
since we have 1 voucher for the overnight we have negotiated to Residencia if we could possibly convert the overnight to day tour.. they had agreed and said that it is possible

Unfortunately on the said event the excess persons were still charged. when we tried to call the personnel they have told that why we should have insisted to the staff who collected the voucher.

When we are trying to call them, suddenly their managers were always out and the staff is not aware of it. Not even an excuse from them..

LOCATION- A bit far for a pool outing. But if you have had enough of the busy city & want a fresh farm view then this trip is for you. Green everywhere and the usual farm crops. We left @3pm from Manila (huge mistake) but was able to reach the place before sundown which is a plus and a MUST (If you don't the place too well such as in our case)

TRANSPORTATION-We used public transpo.Bus,tricycle P70 fare (which is plenty once you get off the CALTEX station @Muzon I) going there and tricycle, jeepney, bus (hard to catch one going back so ride a jeepney to Lipa instead which is a good 30mins ride).FYI: They can call a tricycle as well for you when you need it since the place is far from the highway itself like 5-8mins ride.

ACCOMODATION-Kubo IV was nice. With a single bed, ceiling fan and a cottage just outside our hut.No TV or wi-fi (w/c is ok since we went there mainly to enjoy the pool and the scenery) You can charge the batteries of your gadgets. Plenty of outlet so need not worry. Except for rice cooker they charge P50. SECURITY- Room can be padlocked and you will be given 1 key, there are small windows but it's too small and well secured so you will have a peace of mind when you leave your things in the room. Just be aware that the back of the KUBO is a public road, you'll never know who is passing, right?and there's a small window facing that road and the wood fence isn't high enough. Ceiling fan is a bit noisy but we were too tired to care gives us enough ventilation so it's all good.
Common RESTROOM, poorly maintained but can do since there's plenty of water avail not much room though when you try to pee. My face is literally against the wall when I sat to do my deed. And it is a few walks away from the hut which is fine by me since I really don't want any stinking smell.

Staff @information is accommodating & very pleasant from the time I inquired about availability, to reserving the room and informing her of the late check in and asking her a dozen of other questions she was polite and patient. That goes to the other staff in the resort as well.

FOOD- a bit too pricey, but free breakfast is awesome. I ordered daing na bangus and I liked it, my partner ordered tapa and it was good as well. There are at least 5 choices of breakfast which you will decide before you check-in, fried rice is good so I bet you'll order more just prepare the money P25/cup. Free flowing barakong coffee with brown sugar and creamer in the morning.Breakfast is served 6a-10a and each room has a designated spot in the restaurant.
You can bring food any type and soft drinks.Alcoholic beverages is subject to 1000 corkage fee.

BAR&RESTAURANT- Service is good, staff is good. However at both places which is also just next to each other I had a bit of a frustration. Ate dinner @RESTO was given excess order.Waiter was in such a hurry to take orders and to serve other guests. But we paid anyway since we thought we could consume it as a take out which we didn't because we're blacked out that night and here's the reason why.@BAR after an hour or so swimming before they closes @midnight we went there to get some drinks. Whiskey are mainly unavail and some of the cocktails too. My girlfriend ordered dry margarita and I did tequila shots and they wrongfully charge me for a drink that I didn't order which is about P200 we complained about this and they were apologetic and resolved the issue. It took them a good 30mins though to retract the charges. We gave them a tip anyway.

AMENITIES- Pool table-100/hr,table tennis table, some arcade located on the 2nd floor of the restaurant. The place is freaking burning in the summer afternoon and ceiling fans doesn't do the trick.
And of course, SWIMMING POOLS! 1 kiddie pool-which is always full with parents and kids of course.2 adult pools one is just 4.5 feet good enough for someone who doesn't know how to swim. They have colorful lights in the evening for those pools which is cute, but it is also refreshing to see the surroundings in the morning. There's no huge occasion going on at that time so I guess that's the reason why we have enough room for everybody in the pool area to dip and dive. Both in the evening and in the morning. There were several families as well who were enjoying the amenities. There are designated shower rooms and they were mostly empty at all times so use as you like some of them are stinking.Life guard is also always present, though they are wearing baggy clothes which make me doubt if they are actually able to save anyone if the need arises. However pool is open from 7a-4a and we dipped until it was time to go, even if it meant a frowning sun @9a.

We got vouchers over at cash cash pinoy 900 for 2 with breakfast. So all I could say the trip was worth it. and oh the part about the rat is true so watch out altho, we only saw it outside.
