It'll be a month before my daughter Mizi's birthday on March 28 & she has been egging me for a Boracay trip. She knew I wanted to go back to Baguio, my happiest place in this planet, but since it's gonna be her day, I had to give in to her request. Bora it is! I searched Cebu Pacific, PAL & Air Asia for promo fares but there's none. The hotel rates were also steep considering that our travel dates fall on Holy Week. Lady luck is with me then. (LOL) My birthday girl had no choice. We had to postpone the beach plan for October, my birth month. Off to Baguio then. Yoohoo! Let the preparations begin!

I initially had hesitations booking Iggy's at Agoda. First because of its location. It's about a 5-10 minute jeepney or cab ride to the city proper. We go to Baguio at least 2-3 times a year & we always stay near Session or Burnham. Second, it'll be my first with Agoda and I really would not want to use my Debit Card online. Well, I told myself I better take the risk. The pros outweigh the cons, anyway. A Travel Advisor rating of 8.3 was not bad, not bad at all. I read the customer reviews and they were all praises for the very friendly & accomodating staff of the place. Also, the distance might work to our advantage. I suppose it's colder, lesser pollution & more peaceful. Plus the 2 nights plus 1 was a pretty good deal! It's Iggy's Inn then from March 28-31! This decision of choosing Iggy's over others in Agoda turned out to be one of the best decisions I made in my whole life! Why? Please read on...

We arrived in Baguio around 8:30 am & immediately proceeded to Iggy's. We were welcomed by Don, their General Manager and Louie, the hotel's owner. While exchanging pleasantries with them, you immediately feel the surge of genuine warmth. It was like talking to long lost relatives! Having learned that I'm a food lover / adventurer, Louie shared his best eats & food experiences in the city. He even had a chit chat with Mizi about gaming and gadgets.

Being hours early, we were thinking of just leaving our things first, go some place else to eat & just go back. It didn't happen that way though. We were allowed to check in and at the same time, we were offered to have breakfast which should have started only the next morning! And upon learning it was Mizi's birthday, Don promised a complimentary PANCIT!

Going up Room No. 4 to rest and freshen up, we were accompanied by bubbly Tinette of Housekeeping. When I requested for more pillows and a fan, off she went and immediately came back with all that we needed plus a comforter which Mizi loved!

After hours of comfortable sleep amidst the pine trees and the oh so cool weather, true enough, before going to Wood Nymph Korean Restaurant for dinner, we were served and made to eat the birthday noodles for FREE! And as if this was not enough, Mark, one of the boys, lighted the fireplace for us. Yes! Our first time to see a working & lighted fireplace! The same night, we also met one of their managers Dory who, like Don was so kind and helpful. From her, I learned that she and her family were Yolanda victims and were among the many people being helped by the Bautista clan. As if all these weren't enough, Don told us he'll be cooking the authentic Cordilleran Dish Pinikpikan & will leave something for us when we get back. Oh boy, if this is not legendary customer service for you, I would not know what else is!

You might be thinking that this just might be because it's our 1st day, that's why. Well, sorry to disappoint you, but they were consistent from Day 1 - 4. Very very consistent! In a span of our four-day stay, we did meet the rest of the team, Joel, Vince, Vilma & Alfred.

These people will not stop at anything to please their customers. Never were we left unaccompanied when hailing a ride in front. They wouldn't mind serving breakfast later than the usual or reheating pre-ordered or left-over food we took home. There's always that ever ready smile and a question of how was our day, what did we do or where did we go to. Did I mention that we were even made to bring home bottles of French & Strawberry Salad Dressing for free? Early check-in and late check-out, what more can we ask for?

I always leave Baguio with a heavy heart. But this time, it was heavier, more painful. It was like leaving a family behind. To my new found family at Iggy's, Louie, Don, Dory, Joel, Vince, Tinette, Mark, Vilma & Alfred, I thank you for a wonderful stay. I thank you for making Mizi's birthday one, if not the best and most memorable Baguio experience we've had. You guys are truly amazing!

Now I can say that I've found the perfect place to stay in the city I consider my second home.

My friends & I stayed here for 3D 2N for the Panagbenga 2015. My first visit to Baguio as well. The staff are simply the best (especially Don & Ate Dory) when accommodating their guests. Don even introduced us to the owner who was there when we came. He was also kind enough to give back the free breakfast for the extra bed we booked. As the booking was done last year for 3pax, he told us they no longer have the same promo thus there would be only 2 free breakfast (extra bed now without breakfast) - which he immediately reverted when asked why. Before that, we are so lucky to have our booking accepted during the Panagbenga weekend even though we had re-scheduled our booking for the fourth time! (Sorry!)

Don was surprised to see us arrived "early" though it was already 1:30pm, so we had to wait for the room to be prepared. While waiting, we were served cold drinks and Don & Ate Dory had some chit chat with us so we don't get bored. They also gave us some useful tips on easiest way to roam the area, as well as where to get the best view for the Grand Float parade (Athletic Bowl of course!).

Upon checkout, Don even gave me one bottle of their specialty products Strawberry salad dressing for free! When I asked if we can leave our things while waiting for the bus back to Manila, Don told me that we can actually stay in the same room as there is no one booked after us. Lucky for us again, we were able to get some rest after watching the parade in the morning. We don't want to take advantage of their generosity so we left the hotel at 3:30pm (normal checkout time is 12nn). I will definitely recommend this to anyone looking for accomodation in Baguio. I also liked the location as its not a busy one & very relaxing. It's also near to some tourist attraction: Camp John Hay, Wright Park, etc).

My friends and I are passing thru Baguio going back to Mnl from Sagada. We booked the 3-br apartment. It was very spacious and clean. The staff is very helpful and nice. The host was so accommodating and was so easy to talk to. The free breakfast was really good. We really liked our stay in this hotel. The location was also perfect in between the city and camp john hay. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

We stay there for 4nights 5days I feel at home. Some of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Very silent and cozy. I highly recommend this to everyone. Specially for lovers like us. From room 1-4 they upgraded us to apartment room where we occupy the 3bedroom 2bath with kitchen and living room. It really feels home.

We are expecting a little more based on what we saw on the reviews.

Location: The location is quite ok, accessible enough but I think for taxis only and if you have a car, it is easy to go to one place to another. The place is near in Wright park, where the Ketchup Food Community is located.

Food: We are food fanatics. When it comes to food, it must be as good as we have paid for. For an Inn, I don't think the price of a hot choco (Milo) should cost 50 bucks, the serving of the food of fried bangus and just 1/4 of it, should also cost 190 pesos. This are common food that can be serve around the City of Baguio that will not cost you much. So, I think they should review their prices and servings.

Service: Their service is good. I commend their staff for accommodating us properly. They provided us what we needed. A plus on their end.

Room: We are basing on the reviews that we read on the internet that is why we booked and chose Iggy's inn. To be honest, we were expecting more out of the reviews. Since we are only basing on what is posted on the internet, we thought it was like a hotel type. Well, since it is an Inn, we just concluded that it was just an Inn, so do not expect it to be a hotel. Room is big enough to accommodate 4 adults and 1 kid (additional 1 bed). One issue for us is the power outlet, where there are only 2 working power outlets the the two outlets are used by the TV and the cable box. So we have to request for a power extension to charge our gadgets.

All in all, this is an average type of place for us, where you can just get a sleep and place your things; then go out and explore the City of Pines, Baguio.

Short distance from SM and Session Rd, but you still feel like you're not in the city. Rooms are clean and comfortable, free breakfast is better than most free breakfasts and the staff is very friendly. Everything is hardwood means noise tends to carry. Definitely above expectation for price.

I came Baguio during 4th week of October 2014. I have heard alot about Baguio since i was young. I stayed here for 2nights. Stay was great, shower was good and rooms were clean. Their in house breakfast was also great. Their laundry service was fantastic, they finished my laundry within 4 hours. I like to thank Vince(night shift manager) who showed me around Baguio after his night shift. He also talk about Baguio history to me. I m very happy that i have selected IGGY'S INN for my stay at Baguio then. I will come back in the near future.

Note: Does anyone has Vince personal email? i want to get in contact with him. Thanks.

Sinigang na malaga, Kare kare, Binagoongan, Pinakbet are few of the dishes you should not miss in Iggy's Inn. Wash it all down with fresh strawberry shake... Perfect!
This place is consistent in serving fresh local dishes at excellent value and friendly service.
They also have homemade salad dressings and achara which are really good for pasalubongs.
Need I say more? Try them and thank me later. 😝

hello, I believe that there is nothing to worry about since Agoda is a legitimate site. We have used the said site several times and so far so good. What we love about Iggy's is it's no hassle reservation. You can pay in full or when you get to the Inn itself. If you still have doubts best to call Iggy's. Enjoy your vacation !
