The hotel is very accessible - walking distance to Burnham Park & SM Baguio, there’s lots convenience stores nearby, and their restaurant/cafe offers good budget friendly menu. Unfortunately, that sums it all. The staff aren’t friendly nor approachable, the AC is switched off from the main fuse - they opened it when we asked for maintenance, they switched off the AC from the main fuse and cut off the TV connection 3hrs prior our departure, and the room and mattress definitely needs deep cleaning and upgrade.

We stayed in Baguio for 2 days and one night. The place is clean though it is quite old. The hallway is dim, a bit creepy but if you are staying for one night, it is good enough. The place is near the plaza but you have to take taxi or jeepney.

Starwood hotel is the best hotel in Baguio. If you're not that picky and would consider a hotel with just a Television, a comfortable bed, and a very clean restroom, well, you can afford it for just 1400 pesos/night during off season. The staffs were courteous and accomodating. They even let us check in at 12 in the afternoon even if the official is 2 pm.

I really don't mind if it doesn't feel like home. But instead of checking in a very expensive hotel where I won't appreciate the elegant room (because I will just sleep in the hotel afterall), I will choose Starwood Hotel.

Starwood Hotel is 3-5 minutes away from the session road.

This hotel has potential if only it has been maintained properly. The staff in the reception is not accomodating, the room we got has cockroaches in the toilet and in the bed headboard we have to call and get it fumigated. Very dirty and uncomfortable to stay in. I tried to call the receptionist, and asked for us to move to another room but informed me that they are fully booked. If only not its part of the travel tour package we have been, I would never have slept in there for the night. Me and the rest of the family decided to just book for another accomodation for the following night. It could have been a better experience but the hotel is very old and dated.

I went to Baguio together with my family last June 2014 and we decided to stay to Starwood. The hotel is a bit old and one thing that I have noticed is that the carpet must have not been cleaned for years.

To add, the water heater takes a while to kick and the attendant told us to leave the water running until it heats up. (What a waste..)

We spent around 1,000Php per day and the advantage of this hotel is just the location.

Thanks!

Pros:

- Decent value. Double bed room was P1400 per night (quoted via SMS... their walk-in rates are more expensive).

- Near Spade Nightclub, convenient for a party goer. It was an easy walk back to the hotel after a hard night of partying.

- 7-11 in the lobby of the building.

Cons:

- Outdated. The hotel needs renovation. At least replace the old CRTs with flat panels.

- Shower water barely got warm.

- Very few decent places to eat in this area.

Overall:

This was the only hotel available during the Panagbenga festival. For one night it was fine.

Starwood Hotel sits right smack on top of Kennon Road and is situated along major thoroughfares in Baguio City. The staff at the front desk are kind, courteous, and accommodating, and requests are quickly acted on.

Highly recommended for vacationers who are not looking for anything fancy but a simple, clean, decent place to sleep in. We booked a room that had two queen sized beds, a TV with cable, free wi-fi, and hot showers and were charged about P1,700 per night. You pay additional P300 per day if you would like to use the aircon. Request for your towels and additional pillows at no additional cost. The elevator is pretty quick too (which I really appreciate as elevators in small buildings like this one are usually pretty slow).

At the first floor is the Starwood Cafe. They serve good food with pretty generous servings, and are reasonably priced (full meals are priced at about P110 and set breakfast meals are priced at P95. Breakfast meals come with garlic rice, coffee, and fried egg). Right beside the lobby, you have a 7-11 branch so anything you need is right there. I found their cellphone charger machine particularly useful as I inadvertently left my charger at home (aaargh!).

All in all, you get good bang for your money.
