Thankyou so much to all the team for my time in Heritage Inn Hotel in Nizwa. We loved so much to Muhammed in Restaurant Side. Thankyou so much to Mohammed for always sincerely approached us. Also reception and another food& beverage staff was great. Menu, food, price good
We visited Nizwa at what looks to be an interesting stage in its development. As things stand, there are very few lodging options for tourists wishing to stay in the old part of town, near to the main sights. However, there does seem to be some gentrification of the area underway. If and when other, equally well located lodging options open up in the area, the fairly average Heritage Inn will have to improve to compete. For the time being, the Heritage Inn is uniquely well located and offers pleasant enough accommodation. That location is not accurately marked on any of the usual online maps but it is well signposted from the fort. There is plenty of parking, once you have squeezed your car through the narrow streets to reach it. The inn is not located in an historic building, but it does (mostly) look the part. What appears to be an identical annex was, at the time of our visit, in the process of being built opposite our building. Our room was comfortable and spacious, with a modern bathroom. It looked out over the fort and the ruined mudbrick buildings of old town. Breakfast was served in the inn's adjoining restaurant. It was a fairly unremarkable buffet but set us up for a good day's hiking around Jebel Shams. Staff at the inn are friendly and welcoming, but need to brush up on their knowledge of local opening times, dining options (very limited in the area) and so on.…
I don’t like leaving very bad reviews but I feel like I have too as this;property is currently #1 in TripAdvisor. It is a very different property indeed, very authentic in the center of the old town of Nizwa. Having said that, the rest is inadequate for the price that is charged (more than 115€ per night) 1) bathroom size is incredible, squeezing the toilet, the « shower » and a sink in hardly 2.5 m2 2) poor sunlight (i guess this is he authenticity of the property) but that would be OK 3) breakfast buffet very poor (food finished at 9:30 and cold) and restaurant not very clean 4) fully flexible cancellation policy in Booking.com is actually not enforced, and in addition they oblige you to pay the full stay upon arrival. We had booked 2 nights, and after 1 night we decided we didn’t like the room (we had deliberately chosen the best room “suite” after having read the traveller’s reviews). So, the next morning, we asked the receptionist to cancel the 2nd night which was point blank refused. Booking.com confirmed that we could indeed cancel the 2nd night and they proceeded with the cancellation, thus relieving the hotel from the payment of a commission. Nonetheless, after a very long haggling session with little good-faith on behalf of the hotel staff, the best we could get was a 50% refund. Therefore I strongly recommend NOT to,go,to this hotel. The central location did not seem to me critical for Nizwa…
Its located in heart of Nizwa Old town. I think location was best. Traditional style doesnt fit me too much but everything was okay for me for one night.Staff was verry polite. We rented with bathroom inside room, the only think i can say to upgrade it will be good, because i hate to be close very near to toilet when getting shower, and toilet and sink are set from that all the time.
When we arrived by bus everything was closing down, but our stay in Nizwa was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, even lending me their phone to change my flights to come home early. They also arranged a driver Abdullah Salem Al-Shreaqi tours to take us to Jebel Shams for the day the Grand Canyon was amazing. The same driver agreed to take us the 2 hour drive to Muscat Airport. We had breakfast brought to our rooms, and had to have take away for the other meals from across the road, we took them back to roof top or rooms to eat them. Excellent service.
