Seven Terraces is a grand row of seven C19th Anglo Chinese terraces. The hotel is situated in one of Penang’s finest and most intact heritage streets which is in the very heart of the World Heritage Site and next door to the 1810 Goddess of Mercy Temple with just a few minutes walk from all the major icons. It successfully captures and celebrates the spirit of this world heritage town and its unique Peranakan culture.

A beautifully restored terrace making for an unusual, but comfortable, place to stay for our three day visit to Penang. It is a bit like staying in a museum - with lots of artifacts adorning the rooms. The hotel is placed centrally in Georgetown, which means there is plenty to see and lots of options for eating out. We did have one evening meal in the restaurant, which was lovely. The only grumble is that my wife is gluten and dairy intolerant which meant a very limited range of options for her at breakfast.

We were looking for a unique hotel that would reflect the uniqueness of Georgetown and were not disappointed. The hotel is in a renovated set of historic shops in the middle of wonderful Georgetown with the owners having done a lot to reflect its heritage. Is the hotel perfect, maybe not - our room (Argus Suite) was relatively dark, the bathrooms are not always perfectly designed - but this for me is perfectly acceptable knowing you are staying at a historic location. Do I remember all the typical large chain hotels I stayed at - no. Will I remember the Seven Terraces - yes.

The hotel is in a great location in Georgetown. Walking distance to all the food spots, bars and shopping areas. Also, at one end is the oldest temple and at the other end is another golden temple. Loving the historic vibe - it’s a romantic, enchanting and elegant hotel. Not really suitable for children or folks with a disability as there are some steep stairs to climb in the gorgeous terrace apartments. Try the apartments with a roof terrace as it is nice to sit and get the hot sun on the bones & joints! The Kebaya restaurant is first class serving delicious food. During the stay two Chinese dragons came for the New Year celebrations - great fun. The staff are amazing, friendly and helpful. Throughly enjoyed 7 Terraces and the sight seeing.

Stunning hotel, furnished with period furniture that made our stay so much more than just a room and bed.We felt as though we were sleeping in a piece of history. Staff were attentive and friendly, facilities were great as well. We brought our three year old twins and were worried about them damaging the beautiful room. This didn't happen, but anyone bringing small children would need to be aware of the potential risk to furnishings, plus our room had a mezzanine floor with a low rail (we put the girls in the main bed and slept upstairs ourselves!). Of course this may not apply to all rooms. Overall, loved it - the building, furnishings, pool, location, staff, all wonderful

We stayed four nights which is about right to immerse yourself in the visual feast that is Georgetown. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was beautiful, with a large if slightly dark sitting room and wonderful bedroom and balcony above. The hotel is in a quiet location but right in the centre of the Georgetown heritage area which is stunning. We had dinner at Kebaya restaurant on the final night and it was a great way to finish our stay. WiFi not spectacular, drinks can take some time, but the pool area was a godsend after a busy morning sightseeing, literally an oasis in the city. Highly recommended.

The place is a hidden gem, we enjoyed the quiet interior environment as good as our room. We didn't have the opportunity to have dinner in the hotel but enjoyed the breakfast and afternoon tea. The only downside was the fact that breakfast is only served from 08:30 onwards.

Staying her is an experience. The room in their photo is light and bright. Loved our room and it was individual and beautifully decorated but I couldnt have stayed in it longer than 1 max 2 nights. No daylight or windows that you could open but if you’re visiting Penang for a night or two as we did for sightseeing rather than beach and holiday then I would highly recommend staying here. Complete immersive experience. Fab

We had a wonderful stay at Seven Terraces! We were a family of 4 staying in one of the Stewart apartments. Everything was perfect. The ambiance is beautiful, the staff are super friendly and helpful, tea time by the pool is lovely and dinner at the Kebaya Restaurant is an amazing experience. The location is right in the centre of old Heritage Georgetown. We loved everything about our stay in this lovely Hotel! Thank you!

If you love the heritage feel of Georgetown this is an opportunity to stay in a classic lovingly restored boutique hotel with all the history and charm that implies. The staff is wonderful as is the restaurant. While it might be old it is spotlessly clean and well appointed and maintained.

We stayed four nights and enjoyed our stay at Seven Terraces. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was tastefully decorated with heritage furniture and clean. The hotel is in a quiet location but still in the centre of the Georgetown heritage area. We had dinner at Kebaya restaurant on the final night and it was a great way to finish our stay. Special mention to Dinesh for his kind hospitality.
