From the moment we arrived, the Prestige was a joy. The reception team were incredibly, genuinely friendly. Really efficient and professional check in. Bags arrived at the room quickly and were delivered with a smile. The room and facilities were excellent. The housekeeping team were superb: thorough, professional and again really friendly. Bed was very comfortable, air con really good, decoration lovely. Fresh and very well maintained. Complimentary mini bar with soft drinks, beer : small carton of milk for the Nespresso coffee machine in room, which was a nice touch. Pool area on the roof is brilliant: great view and a variety of comfortable seating and sunbathing options. Pool bar operates from 3pm. Food offering good, breakfast had everything you want and food at other times is a nice mix of options. Again, great team running the restaurant. It's difficult to find fault with the prestige and we will be returning later this year. For us, definitely a much better experience than staying at the E&O or some of the Batu Ferringhe hotels.

We had an amazing and luxurious stay at the Prestige. The king bed was a super king and the bedding was super comfortable. The shower pressure was very good and the temperature can be easily adjusted to what you need and remained consistent. I look forward to taking a shower at the end of a blistering hot day in Penang through my trip. The carpet in room also felt super clean that I have no problem walking barefooted. However we are also very puzzled with the bathroom curtain as door concept. It spoils the whole room decor and didn’t serve its purpose fully as there was some parts that couldn’t be fully covered. Breakfast was also pretty good. The complimentary ala carte mains tasted better than what was offered in the buffet line. The highlight of the buffet was definitely the huge slab of the honey comb - our kids loved it and the hotel was so generous to provide that. Overall an excellent stay at an excellent location. 10/10 would do it again.

Wonderful new hotel in a great location in Georgetown. I loved staying here. The two floor loft suite was extremely comfortable and elegantly decorated. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. And the infinity pool was a great place to cool off during the hot Malaysian afternoons. My only feedback for the hotel is 1) the fitness is too small and does not have adequate equipment (just a few cardio machines. It is strange that the hotel invested in everything else but did not build a good gym. 2) the hotel could use a concierge that could help with trip planning, restaurants, etc. I felt that I was in my own to figure things out. Overall, though, this is a great place to stay in Penang

Overall, this is a reasonable hotel, but there are a few things that really annoyed me. The check-in took so long, I’m not sure why it took so long, but after a flight and then quite a long drive from the airport no one wants to be waiting in reception in a drawn out check in process. The first morning that I was there, I was working out with the sound of construction, as there was some serious renovations happening at the hotel, which we had not been informed about prior to check in or at check-in, which I thought was very poor on behalf of the hotel management. I will say that when I bought this up with the reception, they were very quick to address my concerns and shift me to a suite at the other end of the hotel. However, if I had not made a complaint, they would’ve been quite happy to have left us in a construction zone. The hotel is fairly centrally located in Georgetown, and rooms and suites are well appointed, but a little quirky with the glass in bathrooms, which I find very strange. I am not sure whether I would stay here again as a titanium Bonvoy Marriott elite member. There are probably better options.

We are a couple of experienced globetrotters. We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. Centrally located hotel. Cozy little pool at the top with a view of the water and the harbor on the other side. Clean and super cozy rooms. The level of service of the staff was at such a level that we did not believe it was true.Already at the reception, we are met by a delightful and funny guy. What surprised the most was the restaurant and its staff. Top marks for service and well-prepared food .The best food we had during our month-long tour of Malaysia. Many thanks to the manager Jeever Murugan who does an excellent job. Definitely a hotel we would like to return to in the future. Can warmly recommend this hotel. Mr Kent A

We are a well traveled couple and stayed here for 3 nights. We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The hotel is centrally located in the middle of town and has a cozy pool area with a nice view of the sea. The staff here are extremely service-minded and attentive. A funny and friendly guy were checking us in. Very good cleaning and super nice rooms. However, the best thing about the hotel is the ground floor restaurant which served the best meals we had in our 1 month long trip in Malaysia. We received fantastic service here. Actually one of the best we ever got during a trip. A special thanks to Manager Jeeva Murugan who should be proud of his staff and well prepared food. Hope to see you during our next trip to Penang! /Miss Annika from Sweden

One of the best hotels I've stayed. Went to visit Georgetown this January and stayed at the Prestige. Hotel is located in Georgetown and close to the tourist spots but located on a quiet street (walkable but due to extreme heat had to take cabs as its cheap anyway). Service is 5 stars. Good options for breakfast buffet but would be better if there are more western options for food. The room is clean and spacious. The mattress and the pillows are very comfortable, had the best sleep! I also love the design of their shower cubicle. Had a dip in their rooftop pool which has an amazing view. Overall, will definitely go back and recommend this hotel. Its totally worth it for the price.

As so often with aspiring luxury hotels, the hardware works but the software doesn’t. Good location - decent rooms- rooftop pool- ok restaurant (but there are better options nearby eg Choux & Choux and Chin). The reception staff are not the brightest nor most helpful. Their English needs improving. The women are a bit more obliging than the men. There was a constant tug of war about deposits & pre authorisations. After paying for the room one of the denser members of staff followed me to my room to ask for my card details - which they’d just processed! Next AM, they chased me to the breakfast room for what they claimed was a credit exposure of £6. At the end of the stay from my bank statement it looked as though I’d paid for the room but not the extras - but they insisted on deducting more in some complex transactions which felt uncomfortable. When I asked for a key card so that I could use the pool for an hour after check out, they implied I’d have to be escorted to the lift each time by a staff member. In the end they caved but it left a sour taste in the mouth. Overall, too many “computer says no” type responses. They need a front desk manager with good English who’s trained at 4 Seasons or Taj…
